Short-lasting peace [Part-69]

Naruto remembered the time when he saw his mother when he removed Kurama's seal. She was absolutely beautiful. She had long red hair and a fiery personality. His father had told him that aside from his hair color and eyes, everything else he got from his mother.

And, her sealing arts were so great as well. He was sure that by the time she was in her twenties, she had already reached the level of a seal master. His mom was awesome, that was for sure.

She had even left so many notes, which were so easy to remember, so that he could continue the Uzumaki legacy, and even left him many other things which he found helpful. He absolutely loved her even though she wasn't present with him.

Once, he found a small diary and while most of it was empty, some pages were used by his mother to bad mouth and write about her bad days at the academy.

Naruto snapped out of his thoughts, when he felt the presence of his fellow jinchuuriki. He shouted at his teacher, currently team leader, to let him know they were close and should hurry up.

Kakashi slightly sighed and motioned for the rest of the team to scout the area and join them as quickly as possible while he and Naruto went up to the jinchuuriki. One of the team members could take care of the proper paperwork for them to be arriving in the village too.

Kakashi and Naruto both froze when they felt something wrong with Fuu. Naruto, and somewhat Kakashi, could feel the presence of another being. It was so twisted yet so humane. It was disturbing to both of them. There was another small presence, hidden carefully within nature but it was easy to ignore it when they saw Fuu.

Kakashi noticed the way she was covered with wild and violent chakra. His hand twitched as he tried to make sense of the situation. Her wings had become exactly like the Shichibi's and-

Oh.

She was crying out in pain.

Her screams were so loud. He wondered about how he could've missed that before following after Naruto who had seemed to throw himself on her. The kyuubi seemed to have stirred up as he felt it- his, he reminded himself, chakra from Naruto.

It was making him nauseous with the overflow of both of the tailed beasts chakra so he decided to not heighten his chakra sensory more than it already was.

He took in a breath and made a clone to grab Naruto while he checked up on the stranger. He wanted to be the one to grab Naruto but with both the beasts chakra reacting like the way they were, it was best to observe things with a shadow clone first before rushing in. Although it would cost him chakra, but, with the way things were going he didn't have many options.

The thing, it was probably a person but it was hard to ignore the way it's chakra twisted, turned to face him from it's hood and Kakashi felt the ANBU side of his react. He could faintly feel Hayate and Genma reaching the place but, he had already been caught in a fight with the hooded person. His instincts were screaming that he was a threat.

The man, not a thing anymore as his chakra stopped twisting in that odd way, didn't use many jutsu. His taijutsu was about the same level as Kakashi's. His genjutsu, well, any genjutsu Kakashi had thrown at him was beaten within 0.45 seconds and the man hadn't tried to throw any genjutsu at Kakashi. His speed was comparable to Gai's, without him using his full power. Kakashi's worst problem with him was that he could almost predict his attacks.

Of course, predicting them and actually being able to do something about them were two different things.

Even if he had a mind better than even the Nara, he needed skill to actually win against Hatake Kakashi. Although, he was starting to drain on Kakashi's chakra reserves, Kakashi could still finish him off within a second at the right moment.

Kakashi tried to not get distracted with whatever was going on between Naruto and Fuu. He had heard them say something among the lines of, '... Controlled... Kill... Leave....', he couldn't make out much from the words but there were a few possibilities he came up with.

Veronica watched the whole ordeal unfold from the shadows. It was easy to hide her presence by having her rabbit slightly control the natural chakra around her to hide her, he complained a bit at being called for such a lowly task but he complied after she promised to work more with him and formulate a plan to help out the black rabbits.

She had to remove the seal which had been placed on Fuu otherwise Chomei would be lost to whoever the hooded man was.

Neither Matatabi nor her would be able to deal with the aftermath properly. Takigakure would be very close to falling from it's new status as a hidden village, which would cause a shift in power. Whatever the nations decided to take that as, would be uncertain and not to mention the fact that the Shichibi, who was also Matatabi's brother, would be gone.

She created two shadow clones to try and get close to Fuu however, they both popped when they somehow managed to get close to her. It was likely due to the wild chakra.

She decided to deal with the situation herself and stepped out and in front of Naruto. It would be useless to try and hide her identity now as the situation would get worse if she tried to hide herself while destroying the seal.

'Cover me with a thin layer of your chakra. I'll cooperate with the psycho rabbit to cover my chakra with natural energy.'

Even if she didn't hide her face anymore, she couldn't just let her chakra be sensed by a potential enemy and let herself, the kids and Shisui be tracked through her.

It was easy to get close to Fuu when she let natural chakra be coated on her body. It was hard for her to not be affected negatively by it but she had been practicing on using the natural energy in the atmosphere for some time now.

She activated her dojutsu and noticed the way Fuu's and Chomei's souls were positioned. It was as though Fuu's soul was being destroyed while Chomei's was the soul being used to destroy Fuu's.

She didn't turn back to see Naruto's expression but from the way his chakra behaved, she knew that he was feeling many emotions at seeing her. Shock, happiness, slight anger and relief. Those were the main emotions she felt and she didn't feel the need to check what else he was feeling.

She walked up to Fuu, who was starting to release her own chakra, and life, along with Chomei's chakra. Her screams had stopped probably because of the damage to her throat but the tears showed no signs of stopping.

She punched the girl in the stomach, causing her to spit out some blood and fall painfully on the ground. Her chakra, for a moment, had stopped leaking and she was able to see the where the force causing her and Chomei's souls to react that way was. It was located on her back.

She flipped the girl over and began to formulate her plan.
