To say the butcher was intimidating was an understatement; He was wiping his blood-stained hands with a towel. His apron had splotches of blood all over. It was hard to imagine this burly man was married to such a gentle-looking woman. "Hello there, haven't seen you in my shop before," putting the towel down, he extended his blood-stained hand. "It's nice to meet you, traveler; I'm Reginald."
Taking his hand and shaking it, "Hello sir, my name is Kevin. I just ran into your wife, Daisy. She said to speak with you." Taking my hand back, "I am but a humble hermit. I haven't eaten in days, and I am willing to work for food." I said. As I gave him my speech I noticed that his face started to slowly show more disappointment as I spoke.
The butcher sighed, dropping his head, putting his hands on his hips. Lifting his head, he looked me in the eyes and said "Listen kid, I'm sorry. I really wish I could help, but unfortunately, I can't accept a hermit as an employee" The butcher pinched the bridge of his nose "Darn that Daisy, what was she thinking."
"It's okay sir, I'll take my leave," I said
Starting to walk to the door, I heard the butcher scream after me, "Hold on kid, here let me give you this," turning around, the butcher was holding a pouch used for carrying water. "Listen, I can't give you food or drink, but I can give you this pouch, so maybe you can get some water from the next town over," Handing me the pouch.
"Thank you so much sir, I was truly grateful." I bowed and walked out.
I started to walk towards the well, but before I could reach it, my limbs started to feel heavy, and my eyesight started to go black. Before I knew it, I fell to the ground.
