Back to the basics

Matsuda Mitsuhiro was sitting at his desk in his office. He was watching, as light turned to be gray, and black. The lights of the building were turned on automatically. He sighed, and caressed the pack of paper, that was lying on his desk. The papers, what give the company for his son's hands. Strangely, the old man didn't feel any sorrow, but some nostalgia. His father didn't live long enough to see this building. Mitsuhiro wasn't sure if his father would like this all-glass and metal building. It was a very modern building, and it was famous, but it was also stern. It made the heart of the people stern too.

Maybe his son was right. Mitsuhiro himself didn't like the way, his descendants were leading the company. What's the point of staying? He didn't want to either. He only worried about what would happen to his father's dreams. He sighed. Time was sure flying and changing. His own son didn't want to remember his grandfather, so the memory of him would soon vanish. Just like Mitsuhiro's. No one wanted to remember them. And who is not preserved by human memory, that person really dies.

"Father?" His son, Mitsuki came to his office. His children and a few assistants followed him.

Mitsuhiro pushed the documents to him and gave him a pen. They all started to sign the documents. It was like a song , which was singing by a choir. A song of a weird canon. One sing, pardon sign to the first page, than to the second one, the third… the fifteenth. The package was moved to the next person, who started all of this, while the first one began with a new package. The song was singing for a while, but in the end the last accords was died.

Everything ended. The staff left the room, only the family stayed in the room.

Strangely, Matsuda Mitsuhiro was not in sorrow, but he was excited. He felt, that something new had been coming, and that new was going to be great. His son and grandchildren was staring at him.

"You were right." Mitsuki said suddenly.

"What do you mean?"

"I watched the recording of the security camera, and you were right."

"What was I right about?" He was smiling to his son.

"Miya and Mitsuo wasn't very polite with the girl and her companion."

"Oh well. At least you managed to admit it. This is also something."

"But grandpa! They were just commoners!" Miya protested. "Our big customers are more important to us! We could serve them in the best way. If they don't want commoners in our center, we have to kick them, as they want."

"Or else we couldn't hope for bigger business from them!" Mitsuo said confidentially. "That commoner girl was not important to our business at all!"

"If you were able to view the camera footage, could you have a face recognition software released?" Mitsuhiro asked his son.

"We don't have such a software! The cameras are also hid very well, not to realize the by our exclusive customers." Mitsuki laughed on his father. Face recognition software! What the old man can't find out! He's really old for the business. It was time to retire. It was a great time.

"Then it's time to get one!" Mitsuhiro said, and handed over a notepad to his son.

It was interesting to watch as the blood were running out of his son's face. Mitsuhiro hoped he wouldn't have a heart attack.

"How did you know?" Mitsuki asked his father.

"I didn't know."

Miya and Mitsuo both read the file about the girl, that they had been harassed. They felt very uncomfortable.

"You need to know somehow!" Mitsuo cried from frustration.

"I didn't know at the beginning." He shook his head. " I just liked that little girl, and later I recognized her companion. That's why important to be polite to anyone!"

"She was looking like an ordinary woman! Don't tell she was also something special!" Mitsuki sat down, and clenched his fist from anger.

"Well, if you think a member of the military is special..."

"We couldn't know Dad..." Mitsuo tried to soothe his father.

"You could have actually known." Mitsuhiro stated. The others were looking at him in disbelief. " Two years ago her temple made the special accumulators for this building. She was the leader at that time, and you were also here. So you could have known her."

The family members fell in silence.

"Yet what would we have thought?" Miya asked. "Yet what are the chances of a military leader suddenly becoming a babysitter?"

"I see you're starting to think! But you still just want to escape the consequences." The old man sighed. "After recognizing the lady, I also wondered why a child was under military protection. I looked up the church and it turned out that they had been given a huge military assignment with a new leader and on the same day their previous leader became the assigned guardian of a child. It seems like a huge demotion, but in reality, the lady is officially just on vacation."

"On vacation? A leader of a temple is on vacation?" Mitsuki asked, surprised.

"Well, that caught my attention too! That was completely unlikely. That's why I looked after the child." Mitsuhiro pointed toward the notepad. " She and her brother made a ridiculously amount of money on the Noble Race more than a week ago. They are here without their parents, that's why they are under military supervising. "

The other three leaned over the notepad at once and flipped nervously.

"So they are very rich. And given that they are just kids, they can multiply that amount in a few years."

"They will be good customers!" Mitsuo smiled.

"If they will be willing to buy anything from you!" The old man warned them. Since his son and grandchildren didn't say a word, he continued. "That girl wasn't happy at all. She didn't even looked into the bag, just asked her guardian to store that. So she won't choose you again. Not even her brother and their friends. Their behavior will spread, so you will loose a huge market. Because you couldn't hold your temper, and didn't serve a child."

Mitsuki swallowed hard. His father was right, the company really needed for his experience. What an idiot he was, when he kicked him out of the company! He have to get his father back somehow. But that retiring thing greatly offended him. Fortunately he was always adoring his family. Maybe Mitsuki would be lucky to refer to family interests.

"The kids are still inexperienced. Wouldn't you come in to supervise them from time to time? You would just be bored at home anyway!" He smiled at his father.

"Sorry, I have another plans!" Mitsuhiro smiled back.

"But we are family..." Mitsuki stuttered from surprise. He thought his father would get it on the occasion to come back to the company.

"And it is you, who is the head now."

Mitsuki was covered with sweat in fright. He felt he needed his father so much. But the old man stood up, and headed to the door.

"But we need you! Really!" Mitsuki cried. He had to stop him somehow.

"Don't worry, you'll learn!" He turned back to see his son. "Buy that software."

"But a software never could replace your experience!"

"You are right!" He said simply. "Keep that in mind. Oh one plus information! Assigned guardians haven't been assigned to children since 35-40 years. But as I remember, they have to report about everyday events. So keep that in mind for the next time you have to deal with the military! Good luck!"

The old man waved goodbye and walked out the door, in the company of his old assistant, Giorgio. As the door closed behind them, Matsuda Mitsuki no longer thought he would have won the jackpot.

Giorgio drove his former employer home. He liked the old gentleman, and he was sad to leave him. Matsuda Mitsuhiro was a generous employer till the end. He gave Giorgio a fair amount of money for the final thanks of his service. This drive was Giorgio's last job with the old man. So he made it with grace.

"Now, that you are no longer my employee, will you come to dinner with us?" The old man asked.

"I am honored." He said, and he was glad, that the the minutes of separation are extended.

The house of the former head of the Matsuda Company was not big. The main event were held in the new center building, so they didn't need a bigger house. So they owned a simple two story building. His wife was very kind and she was happy to make dinner for one more people. Since she was a good cook, she made a small feast quickly. They all sat down around the table, and ate.

"Well, will you tell me?" Mitsuhiro's wife asked her husband, when they had eaten enough.

"What should I tell you, sweetheart?" Mitsuhiro played fool.

"You're planning something in your head! You can't deny it! I've known you since we were kids!" She replied in a happy voice. She trusted in her husband, and really knew him well.

"It is a little crazy thing." He replied with a smile.

"Why not? It is high time to live a bit of craziness!" She laughed. "We were so normal in all our life! We could go a little bit wild. What do you think, Giorgio?"

"Erm… yes...I think so…!" He stuttered, because he didn't see his former employer going wild before.

"So tell us you idea!" She urged her husband.

The old Matsuda Mitsuhiro told everything about his dreams and plans to his wife and former employee. The evening was full of new ideas, hopes and plans. In the end Giorgio was again the assistant of his former employer.
