The Archer

I awaken from the fall. Whatever was up there, I missed because of them! I look around, feeling somewhat dazed. I am in a field with nothing but a big tree in the distance, a city in the background, and a hill. I also see a woman walking around like they're looking for something. They must be hunting me, or the others. I get up and walk toward her.

"He-" She mutters before I hit her with the Ippon Seoi Nage judo throw onto the floor. For what I know, she could be out to get me. Taking a better look, they don't look like they can kill me. Also, If I need to kill those people earlier to escape, this isn't one of them. I guess it wouldn't hurt to not kill the first person I meet.

I let her go and begin to walk toward a nearby forest. I get stopped by the rodent.

"What was that for!?" she asks. "I did nothing!?"

"You ticked me off." I respond. "Now let me do me, and I won't break your back."

"You can't just leave!" She shouts at me.

"So it is a fight you want?" I boldly ready myself.

"No! I am here to help you!" She pleads.

Help? I mean, I guess I have no reason to get rid of them yet. I don't just give away my trust though, I'm not stupid. I will always have a plan to take her out if I need to.

"Well, why didn't you say that?!" I sarcastically say.

"That's great! Now I ne-" She says as I begin to walk away.

I don't need help. I don't think anyone in the room earlier is trained in any combat, but they are villainous. The one I think that could actually fight me is Grosseiro, but I'll see about it.

"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING?!" The girl snaps at me in a whiny way. "DON'T LEAVE! I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU!"

"Do you know any form of combat?" I turn to her, annoyed.

"Umm... Lethal or Non-lethal?" She swings her mood at my pure presence.

"Lethal," I say calmly. It really would be easier to smash her face in, but she could be useful, I guess.

"I have... used a bow before." She whimpers.

"Great, we are gonna kill 6 villans." I say, walking off.

"Yeah, no." She objects."Last time I did, it ended in a dramatic, rage filled battle."

"You don't have to help me then." I state whilst looking for where exactly to go.

I begin to walk off toward the city to see if I can find one of the villains. While I'm about 2 meters away from the cowardice woman, they speak up.

"FINE!" She says annoyed.

"Okay, now we need to know where you are going." I get back on track.

"I think I have an idea." The unnamed individual says. "How about we ask the people in that city."

That's what I'm thinking, but I'm not in the mood to fight over that idea. Before I could respond, the voice from earlier came back. "I can set up a conflict between 2 of the villains at a hill, but the rest will be up to you." A hill? I hate vague directions, but if they went through the trouble of getting us an unneeded advantage, we can take what we can get.

"Okay," I simply replied. "Look out for any hills."

We begin to walk. I have started recently to study others because it can give an advantage in future conflicts with each other, and I think it's fun. This person seems to be outgoing in trying to help out strangers. Maybe she's nice or she is just an example of mythological deception. I am ready for any betrayal.

"I'm Archie Rilassare by the way." The person I'm walking with states out of nowhere. "I'm guessing you are Mfe Iwe, right?"

I don't know what "Mfe Iwe" is but I do realise that I have a nametag with the name on it. That isn't my real name, it must be some nickname. Knowing that "Hermit" is a name, it is most likely something insulting. It seems that Archibald over here wants us to know each other. Now I want to see how much I can learn about her without having her know much about me.

"Yep," I effortlessly say as we make our way to the city. "How 'bout I call ya Arch?"

I feel they might enjoy it and have myself come off as less of a threat to her. As predicted, Arch's face lit up with joy.

"Yeah!" She gleefully said.

We continued walking for an amount of time I wasn't counting until we made it close enough to the city to see four people talking. I can't tell who they are, but going off what I'm told, it must be our targets. I hear the voice again, this time, it says something new. "They are arming themselves. I'll help you only a little bit by giving you your own weapon." A war hammer and bow appear in front of us. "One more thing, you should kill Archie after they lose their use."

"A bow." Arch examines the weapon. "I guess I haved used one before, but not a crossbow?"

"Well I never used a heavy war hammer," I proclaim. "So be grateful."

"I'm guessing we are about to fight then, right?" Arch askes.

"Not yet, we need a plan." I interrupt. "You are going to go up that building near the hill with people over there, do you see it?"

I point to a building next to the hill and Arch nods.

"When you are up there, wait for me to say 'shoot my shot' to start shooting," I explain. "Got it?"

"Sounds easy enough." Arch responds.

We head into position. I start to go up the hill when I hear something. "You!" It not only sounds offended, but like the Hermit I told to shut up earlier, good times. Jokes aside, I know that whoever else is up there must be one of the people in that room. I take a quick peek to see the area and instantly put my head back because I can see people looking toward my direction. I didn't see their faces though.

Then I hear something else: the swiping of a blade. Nows my chance to strike. I make my way up the hill and then see it. The Hermit has been shot with an arrow. Arch shot too early! I can run up there with 2 other people who could stop me from finishing him. I angrily rush up the rest of the hill and miss my swing.

"You are really bad at first impressions." Says one of the people who I now Identify as Pākiki. I don't see the Hermit anymore, but I do see some lady with bright hair slowly walking down the hill. It's too late now.

"NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR JOKES!" Some other dude I don't know says.

I ignore them and try attacking again, but it's heaviness is making me move very slow.

"Please tell me, why did you think this was a good idea?" Pākiki asks rudely.

You know what? This hammer is useless! I know martial arts!

"I never used this before," I drop the hammer and crack my knuckles. "Let's have a real fight."

She puts her hand on a sword handle I did not see her have before this. She says "We don't have to do this."

"That is a lie, mam'." I say walking toward my warhammer. "If I wanna get out of here, I gotta SHOOT MY SHOT."

I look up at the building that Arch is on and see them just sitting there. They must have not heard me.

"I gotta SHOOT my SHOT!" I shout this time. At least Pākiki is waiting for me. Oh wait, she pulls out her sword on me.

"What are you doing?" She asks, pointing her sword at me.

You know what, screw this. I lift up the hammer and try to smash Pākiki's sword to the ground. The hammer feels lighter than it was earlier. Our weapons clash somewhat unrealistically and this keeps up for ages, or what feels like ages. Finally, Arch ALMOST hits Pākiki and me with an arrow.

"ARCH!" I put her in her place. "YOU'RE A BIT LATE NOW ARE YA?"

Thanks to the Archole distracting me, Pak knocks out my weapon and pins me down. Now isn't the time to stop fighting.

"You lost," Pākiki says out of breath. "Now why did you attack us?"

As the man in the corner tries shouting at her, I try to do all I can to keep the fight going. All of a sudden...

"HEY!" Arch shouts at the 2. "Put her down!"

NO! Don't put me down, idiot! Let me go! I'm not a sick dog, I'm a captive!

Pak says some malarkey as the tension grows. It is about time I say something.

"ARCH!" I say like a broken record. "We haven't lost yet! Shoot them!"

"Let me speak with her." Arch lets out a sigh.

Pak aggressively tosses me toward Arch. If I could right now, I would rip all of their bottom jaws off. Except maybe that rando.

"Look," Arch whispers. "I shot a dude who fled into the woods. If we can get their help to take him down, we can 'get rid' of them later."

"Fine." I mumble.

"Hey PackEkE!" Arch shouts. "You wanna chase down the sap that pulled a knife on you with us?"

"God yes." Pak answers.

"It is progress." The stranger answers.

"Great then!" Arch says excitedly. "To the woods!"
