Multiman Ploy Part 1

Charlie pushes Fein through a hallway. Charlie smiles and waves at the other Dots passing by.

"So his name is… The?" Charlie asks Fein as they push him into another hallway. "I don't think we have anyone named The registered as a patient."

"It might be a code name." Ethan says while he and the rest of the Friends speed walk beside the two.

"It's most likely a code name." Fein repeats to Charlie quietly." I don't think I know his real name in that case."

"Do you know anything about 'The' which could help me recognize him as a patient." Charlie asks Fein. "Do any of your… friends know anything about The?"

"He's totally autistic." Nel suggests for Fein to say.

"He talks very formally and he used to work in the military." Ethan adds.

"He is very calm, yet sometimes a bit passive-aggressive." Lumo scratches his head. "I might not be remembering things correctly though."

"I have nothing to add." Fred shrugs.

"He's a former weapons producer for the US army." Fein explains. "He speaks very formally and is somewhat passive-aggressive sometimes. He also is probably autistic."

"Okay…" Charlie pulls out a somewhat large clipboard. "So he's part of the Mental Transformation Sector… he is a he… he is cordial… and seems to have some sort of ASD…"

While they were looking through their clipboard, they almost crashed into another Dot with an empty wheelchair. Charlie looks at the Dot as if they were about to say a few choice words that wouldn't be very kind. But Charlie just resumes on their path before stopping.

"I think I found our man." Charlie eyes their clipboard. "David Marker, a highly cooperative patient. He formerly worked as a weapons repair specialist for the US military, although I'm not sure that's a thing. He might be a bit delusional and has shown signs of ASPD or an offshoot of it. I think he might be our guy."

"Did this bitch just call The a fucking psycopath?" Nel's eyes twitched.

"That's interesting." Ethan scratches his chin. "I think she should pressure them on-"

"'Shows signs of ASPD'?" Fein turns towards Charlie. "This can't be him. When I chatted with him, he showed absolutely no signs of ASPD. Not that I'm aware of."

"You're delusional, Fein." Charlie says before awkwardly chuckling. "Either that, or you haven't hung out with him much."

"You could have gotten the wrong person." Fein therozies.

"Then let's see if I'm right." Charlie smugly responds before beginning to move forward.

After walking/sitting through more bland hallways, they finally make their way to a cell that looks very similar to Fein's. The door is closed, but it doesn't seem to be locked.

Charlie fakes a cough. "Excuse me, Mr Marker? Are you in there?"

"He isn't." Ethan crosses his arms. "It's a two way glass. Or… are you just going crazy? I'm not sure."

"Difemanim should know the truth." Fred suggests. "What do you think, Lumo?"

"It's clearly two-way glass." Nel talks in a much more formal tone. "We know that the dots are spying, lying, and probably denying. And Charlie doesn't seem very trustworthy."

"What-" Lumo rubs his eyes. "What are you guys talking about?"

"Is…" Fein gets up out of the wheelchair he's being carried in. "It's a two-way glass?"

"You didn't know that?" Charlie tilts their head. "Of course you didn't know! I- … I'm gonna get in a lot of trouble."

"You already knew that." Fein states.

"Knew what?" Charlie questions him.

"Doesn't matter." Fein shrugs "He's not here… Do you have any way of tracking him? Like… maybe a schedule or a tag."

"I'm pretty sure they would remove anytype of tag at his level." Charlie scratches their chin. "IF they HYPOTHETICALLY had put some type of tracker on the patients. I wouldn't know."

"I know where The is." Difemanim pops in.

"HOLY-" Charlie leaps back. "You are- you-"

"He's having a meeting with a Nurse." Difemanim ignores Charlie. "The details aren't important and I assume you wouldn't care about them, but he's in Meeting Room 24."

"Oh…" Fein has a delayed reaction. "Then why can't we just go… then?"

"I'm not telling you not to go." Difemanim stared down at the two. "I'm just informing you. It isn't that dangerous now is it?"

"That sounds ominous." Lumo rubs his nose.

"What's really weird is the fact that I can talk to your imaginary friends while still being real." Difemanim rested his cheek on his hand while floating. "Don't think about it too much Fein, we need to find our guy."

"Yeah," Ethan glaces at Charlie before looking back at Difemanim. "Let's get going before we make this even more… odd."

"Your wording is odd." Lumo counters. "Also, don't you dare say it Nel. It's not gonna be funny."

"Fuck you," Nel points at Lumo. "You have such a low standard for my sense of-"

"Let's just go." Difemanim says with disappointment in his voice.

As Difemanim seemingly disappears, Fein goes back to the wheelchair. He stares at Charlie, confused on why they aren't leaving the room.

"I-" Charlie stands completely still, not even making eye contact with Fein. "This is… I don't… fuck."

"You'll get used to listening to the voices inside your head." Fein shrugs before every single one of his friends starts breaking out into laughter.

"N-n-no!" Charlie fidgets with their hair. "Don't fucking…"

"Let's move." Nel taps his foot. "You can have your mental breakdown AFTER we burn this place to the ground!"

"Uh…" Fein tries to repeat what Nel said in a more polite way. "I think we should get going."

"Yeah…" Charlie stares forward with a lack of expression in their eyes. "We should go. R-right now, yeah."

Charlie and Fein started to make their way to MR 24 while Fein's friend began to think up their own theories on who David (Nel still calls him 'The') really is.

While they were moving across the hallways, Fein noticed how barren the walls were. The bare minimum seemed to be enough for the people running the place… who is exactly running this place? Fein hadn't heard of Get Wells (or was it Get Well's?) until he was put into the faculty. Is this a business? A nonprofit? A state-ran organization?

He doesn't know, but he'll most likely ask Difemanim later. Right now, Fein and Charlie have made it to Room 24. Two men walk out of the room. None of them look like The. One of them is wearing a black suit with a blue tie while the other one is wearing a lab coat with a red button-up under his coat.

The two men shake hands before the man in the suit walks past Charlie and Fein, waving at the two as he walks off.

"Have a lovely day sir!" The man in the lab coat says as the suited man walks off. After he says this, he turns toward Charlie and Fein. "Oh, am I in the way?"

"No, we were just…" Charlie freezes as both the man and Fein stare at them. "Um… I was taking him to get some physical treatment."

"I'm not sure if HAF here really needs physical treatment, nurse." The man plants his hand on Charlie's shoulder. "Or… whatever you are."

"I'm a doctor." Charlie stands completely still.

"Alright, David. This has been a long fucking day for me. I was supposed to be on break by now but, noOoOo. They need some fucking-" This ranter walks out of the interviewing room, pushing a patient (Without a doubt David) to reveal themself as Alex. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

"Alex, watch your language." The lab coat wearer warns them. "I can handle Marker by myself now. Take Adam to the field with the doctor."

"I-" Alex tries to argue some type of point.

"After that, take him to Webster." The man cuts off Alex. "As for you, HAF. We can talk later."

"Who's this guy?" Lumo whispers to Ethan.

"I don't have a clue." Ethan responds with a rather annoyed tone.

"Uh…" Fein stares at all of his friends, waiting for any sort of advice. None of them respond.

"Will do, Professor." Alex mockingly replies with a half-assed salute.

"It's Professor Rottenburg." The man corrects Alex before walking off. "Don't disappoint me."

Once Rottenburg is out of sight, David rolls his head towards Fein. "Well Haf, nice to meet you." His voice sounds exactly like The. This is without a doubt him.

"Meet?" Fred, Ethan, and Fein express their shock in unison. "We've met before!" Fein insists.

"NO!" David's eyes widened. "Umm… I think we should talk about your delusion in the… field."

"But I-" Fein gets cut off by David.

"Nurse," David looks at Alex. "We don't want to be late for your break now do we? You know, in the field."

"WE can talk later, Charlie." Alex begins to push David's wheelchair. "But I'm not missing out on my break. So move it."
