The Stepping Stones

As soon as I went there, despite my years of training, cultivation, and tempering, my mind went blank straight away. 


It looked as if a massive snake had traversed through the land and left its traces there. There was not a hint of water left, even the land within that gargantuan crevice was barren. 


With a closer look, I could identify weird structures propping up at some places. My curiosity and the confidence developed in the mortal world led me to investigate the phenomenon. 


It didn't take long for me to stumble upon a weak group of weird horned humans with blue skins talking among themselves. 


I quickly subdued them and began asking questions. Yeah, they spoke our language too for some reason. Why? Because our language is the best. 


Anyway, they had come there from a portal that had opened recently from another realm. There was no deeper reason for that portal opening up suddenly, just blind luck.
