Nice

Seeing that Lucas has more or less locked up after the offer, instead of giving any sort of audible response, Jonathan decides to show some spine.

"We'll, we'll take it. We were just, uh, worried before that it would cost too much for a, um, whole floor. Tha-thank you. Ehehe, you should see Lucas's face." As Jonathan attempts to lock in the bargain, he can't help chuckling when Lucas's blank expression gains a bit of surprise from Jonathan's words rather than from Mark's offer.

Rather than being disappointed by the offer being claimed, Miss Calculated simply nods her head a few times, all is as it should be.

"Ahem, yeah, exactly. Since you're being so... Generous, maybe once we've grown and start actually using a bunch of electricity and have lots of people coming and going we can re-negotiate the price then." As Lucas backs up Jonathan, Miss Calculated's nodding intensifies.

[I'm going to assume you offered to pay more in the future in order to make him less likely to change his mind for now. If you did it just to be fair, I'm going to have to ask 011 to tell Jonathan to slap you.]

'Hey! I'm allowed to have good ideas sometimes! And! I even made a point of complimenting him! Now he'll look like a total jerk if he changes his mind, heh.'

[...With how sure you sound about what steps to go through, I'm going to assume that you didn't come up with the idea yourself.]

'Hey! ...Yeah. I've seen it more than once in some shows I used to watch...'

427 sighs softly, but decides against prying any further. Who knows what weirdness Lucas would go off about from his previous world next.

As Miss Chievous seems to still be struggling with figuring out what's going on, Miss Masher takes an entirely different approach.

"You gotta turn some of it into a gym, right? Where is it, is it far? I'll totally get to use the gym when it's ready, right? There's nowhere with any good equipment out here! I'll help plan it!" As Miss Masher finds another burst of energy to shake Lucas around even more actively than before, Mark and Mikah both burst out laughing from being unrecognized.

Miss Calculated facepalms and then hangs her head in defeat at her sister openly admitting she doesn't realize just who he is and opens her mouth, about to apologize on her sister's behalf.

"Wait! Don't tell her! I want to see her face when you guys get here later!" Mark manages to choke back his laughter just barely long enough to make the request before falling into a renewed bout of laughing.

After being cut off before she even managed the first syllable of her apology, Miss Calculated locks up for a moment but then begins to smile. Mark isn't the only one that wants to see her reaction when Miss Masher realizes the truth.

Now realizing that she and Miss Masher are the only two that don't recognize who is at the other end of the phone call, Miss Chievous can't stand the overwhelming surge of curiosity any longer. She silently mouths 'who' at Miss Calculated, but Miss Calculated only grins further and raises one finger in front of her mouth in a shushing gesture. This, of course, only serves to agitate Miss Chievous even further.

"Right, sure. Uh, I guess we'll see you later then?" Lucas happily gives his agreement, looking forward to the schadenfreude from Miss Masher's embarrassing realization. But, he also wants to try to get the call over with, he's all too familiar with just how much Mark can chat if given the chance.

"Of course, of course. Until later, Ladies and gentlemen." As Mark gives bids his farewell, it's all too easy to imagine him bowing to the phone as he said it.

Everyone else in attendance gives their own small partings as well, but just how many times do you really want to read about that in detail, I mean come on. Wait, sorry I'll patch that fourth wall back up real quick. Anyway, moving on.

Once Lucas finally gets to hang up the call, he exhales a deep sigh, slumping forward a bit. This position only lasts a brief moment, as Miss Masher begins rocking him back and forth once again.

"Come on, when are we gonna go!? I can't wait, this is gonna be so much fun!" As Miss Masher radiates her enthusiasm for the upcoming material destruction, Miss Calculated clears her throat loudly to get her attention, and even manages to get her to stop shaking poor Lucas.

"Have you already forgotten that he's here for a reason? Speaking of which, everything is closed and on the coffee table, you couldn't possibly be done already, right?" As Miss Calculated briefly scolds her not-so-little sister, she then turns her attention back over to Jonathan for a moment and then finally lands her attention on Lucas.

"Eh? Yeah. Figure it's niche enough stuff that no one would bother putting a weird clause into it or something that we have to watch out for. And I'm pretty sure I saw 'contesting previously finalized documentation' or something like that on the list of reasons for your visit on the check-in-thingy anyway if it turns out there is." As Lucas makes it clear just how recklessly casual he and Jonathan are being about formal procedures, Miss Calculated stiffens for a moment as she processes this information.

"Wait... Even still, that's a lot to go over... Ahem, allow me to begin finalizing it all for you then." As she adjusts her glasses and then leans forward to gather up the clipboarded folder stuffed full of paper, she stops in place for a sorrowful moment as she realizes she completely missed out on any quality pup-petting time.

Trying to hide her sigh of defeat, she settles back down on the couch with everything needed pulled nearby. She rapidly flips through to the pages that required their attention, scanning each of them with the tablet before moving on to the next.

As she is busy with her work, Lucas ends up adding all three sisters to his contacts with Miss Masher's help, sending each of them the picture of Franz, Sylph, and Dokkaebi once he's done entering their info in.

[...I can't even bring myself to scold you for so quickly sharing contact information with them. Even if Miss Calculated would be above extracting it from the paperwork, I'm sure Miss Chievous has plenty of ways of digging it up if she really wanted.]

'Basically. And I think I'd rather get a text instead of having Miss Masher just showing up at MF's demanding to know where I am every time she wants to play, I mean fight.'

[...Indeed.]

In an act of silent protest, and borderline betrayal, Willy has begun napping next to Miss Calculated. Every once in a while, when she has an unoccupied hand while she's reading something over, she manages to sneak a gentle pat or two in.

While everything is getting an official once-over, Jonathan starts feeling nervous all over again. Giving up on trying to distract himself with his phone, for now, he pockets it and begins fidgeting with his hands. There's a moment spent contemplating playing with the plasma lighter, but the realization that it would be a terrible idea to let Miss Chievous see it trounces that idea almost as fast as he thought of it in the first place.

As the remaining three in attendance are distracted by the cute animal picture, it isn't much longer until Miss Calculated sets the clipboard back down on the coffee table, tapping a few more things into her tablet.

"All right. The form for Renouncing Familial Relations, FI-062 seems to be completed in full. After one final verbal confirmation, I'll need a fingerprint and it will be finalized." Miss Calculated adjusts her glasses once again as she turns her attention over to look at Jonathan, ensuring he's actually paying attention, which he is.

"Um, okay..." As Jonathan is a bit unsure exactly what confirmation she wants, she smiles a bit before tapping on the tablet one more time, beginning a recording.

"Do you, Jonathan Julian Millard, as of today at the date of recording, officially renounce any and all familial or similarly adjacent relations with the two following individuals; Benjamin Ashton Millard, and Emma Beth Millard, maiden name Maddison?" As Miss Calculated narrates this one last confirmation, everyone else in the room has made a point of staying silent, even motionless. With all eyes turned towards Jonathan and revealing predominantly expressions of mischief, he subconsciously corrects his slouch into a straightened upright posture.

"Yes! I do!" With his enthusiastic acknowledgment, Miss Calculated's smile grows broader as she taps to end the recording. Giving a lingering gaze to Willy as she stands up, she walks over and holds the tablet out to Jonathan, pointing at a box that is being displayed on it.

"Just need your fingerprint here and it's official." Before Miss Calculated is even finished with her sentence, Jonathan's thumb is already pressed firmly in place while he has a grin so huge that his gums are showing.

Little character theater:

Jonathan, holding his thumb in place longer than necessary, as if that makes it more official, somehow: Hells yeah, fuck those bastards!

Willy, having woken up partway through Miss Calculated's narration, quietly listening along until it's all over: Bark!

Lucas's grin isn't far behind Jonathan's. For having never even met them, he holds an impressive amount of hatred for Jonathan's now-ex parents.

427, rather amused by everyone in the room: [I can understand why you and Jonathan are so happy about this, but it's rather funny that even based on just second-hand knowledge they are equally on board?]

Author, cheering: Get wrekt, Ben and Emma.

Mr. Quacks, also happily joining in the mood: Quack!
