Dark, shadowy creatures circled Isla, their forms flickering and shifting in the dim light, drawn to the crimson lure of blood streaming down her cheeks, rippling and distorting the air.
Yet, an invisible force field held them at bay.
Isla saw them all, her vision heightened and her perception sharpened to an unnatural degree. She could see them with chilling clarity. Among them, a particularly imposing figure loomed larger, pure evil that had tried to claim her life—the same entity that now possessed Maya’s body.
A chilling realisation struck her. Despite the power of the ring Theo had given her, this entity had remained concealed, cunning and daunting in its malevolence. Maya was a mere puppet, her consciousness overshadowed by the entity's will.
Desperation clawed at her as she grasped the gravity of the situation.
With a trembling hand, she pulled Professor Trebla closer, her voice barely a whisper as she pointed towards the possessed Maya.
