Chapter 41. God's and Heaven

Lucis brought everything he found useful in his storage and prepare a lot of spare part for the teleportation array.

After thinking about it a bit and still not feel safe enough, he take all the weapons in his treasure room with him.

"worse case, I just brought them to this room." Lucis thought but he quickly drop the idea. the arrays room is his trump card and he doesn't want anyone know about it even if he have his parents here.

After Lucis went for the 30th times checking all his preparation, he finally calm down a little.

Lucis went to Suyi house to tell her about the possibility that he might be gone for a couple of day. He's prepared but he worried about the unexpected like the array stop functioning.

His appearance in the village brought another wave of gossip among the villagers. Envy from the girls and hostile from the young men feeling threatened. Mostly just bad mouthing Lucis and Suyi.

The 4 beauty in the village didn't have any strong reaction. But in reality, some even bad mouthing Lucis too to gain more favor to their men since they're quite hostile against him.

Lucis didn't pay much attention to these mortal but Suyi is taking this more seriously than Lucis thought. After all, she grow up in this village. Even if she always getting ridicule, recently it's getting serious after more people coming back to the village. The new resident is effecting the old one with their way if thinking making her a lot more uncomfortable.

"what's with the long face?" Lucis notice at Suyi lifeless aura hidden in her cold expression.

"it's nothing." Suyi force a faint smile.

"I know boss. It's become the new people say my sister is ugly. Everyone have a partner and only my sister don't." Sukong raise his hand. His fellow friends in the village tell him about it actually.

"ah, I see." Lucis smile when he heard him. 'It's definitely not the real reason but it's one of it. The real reason probably me. The villagers here is easily misleading by the new resident and most of them actually just went with the flow and doesn't even have any real though about me.'

Suyi looking at Sukong with a glare, angry at him for his loud mouth.

Lucis went silent for a long time in a deep thought then he lift his head slowly looking at Suyi with calm expression.

"Suyi, the moment you start cultivating, you're no longer normal people. Don't let this thing effecting you." Lucis shake his head and having a second thought wether it's a mistake to teach them about cultivation. One with the nature need to change their way of thinking or else it's effecting their cultivation.

"I understand master." she feel hurt inside. She doesn't even know the people that insulting her, how is it that they suddenly have a grudge against her. These new resident is mostly born outside this village and only their parents or grandparents is the original residents but as far as she remembers, her father is a really respectable man in the village. Why the sudden hate? This kind of behavior is strange in this village. They didn't live like this previously.

"Erm, I'm not good at dealing with other people too, that's why I just ignore them. I help the villagers previously because their lives is at risk. Now, we have more capable people in the village, I won't have to interfere anymore." Lucis try to find the right words to ease her sadness but he just really bad at it.

"now that you're like me, you should just ignore them like me. You don't have to interact with them if all they do is provoking you.. think about it, 50 years from now they're all old and wrinkly while you stay young. Who's the sad people then?" Suyi look down in a daze like she's not listening at all.

Lucis understand that she's sad for getting hate by the villagers she grow with. Thought they didn't like her previously, they didn't hate her either. She's mostly just background character before but now she suddenly have a lot of attention on her and she's not used to it. Especially the attention she got is hostile. Lucis feel really guilty for bringing this to her.

Sometimes Lucis even though about cutting himself from the mortal world completely and just mind his own business living in his own cave. In the end, he just can't. He live longer on earth, he's used to live like this and he want to live like this.

Being a cultivator and having a long lifespan is just part of his life. He wants to live his life to the fullest, not to spend it on meditation the whole time.

"yeah sister. When you become powerful later, you will be the tenth fairy of heaven." Subin said as he bite on his bread. He doesn't even read the mood, actually he doesn't even care. He only want to have a fun time.

"fairy from heaven?" Lucis look at Subin. It's the first time he heard about this legendary character.

"it's the 9 fairy from heaven. They will come down on earth and play music for the fairy's in the world." Subin said getting excited. legend and myth is the entertainment for people like him.

"ah, why come down here to play when the heaven is more fun?" Lucis smile and rub Subin hair.

"well, I don't know." Subin said awkwardly.

The 9 fairy if heaven is a legend across the world. They're said to have extraordinary beauty that can cause war on mortal world.

In one of the legend, the 9 fairy came down to the mortal world to play, the God is angry when he heard about the 9 fairy came down from heaven and send the moon goddess to bring them back for punishment.

Apparently, when the moon goddess came down to the mortal world, a mortal fell in love with her and after some twist and turn involving other God and the 9 fairy, the moon goddess finally agree to marry him. This make Orion, the king of the Gods furious and he throw his spear down the mortal world to punish them. This spear create the stormy seas that separates the continent this day.

The 9 fairy role in this is how they involve in almost everything that's going on in the story until the Allfather interfere with king Orion rage and brought back the 9 fairy and the moon goddess back to heaven.

The 9 fairy is mostly portrayed as naughty kid playing prank wherever they goes but the best part is how they save humanity against demon with their magical music instruments. They're the symbol of freedom for women. Goddes Rohani, Orion wife is fond of these fairy and treat them as her won children.

"ah, lovely story." Lucis said after Sukong tell him some of the legend he knew.

'these... God's, maybe just some powerful character from other continent or even some star out there.' Lucis though. God is mostly just a self made title in his thoughts. There's no real god. why bother being a god if one have that much power?

"and where is this.. God now?" there's even some hint of disdain as Lucis asked this. He's atheist back on earth and doesn't feel like worshipping one now either. Doesn't matter even if the God is good like Buddha or fierce like Zeus, he bow to no one.

"God is in heaven. I don't know where's the heaven." Subin said. He's disappointed at how disinterested Lucis are when they told him about the legend. He was ready to educate Lucis with his profound knowledge about God's he have accumulated last month from auntie Lily next door.

'two different planet and both have God and heaven. What kind of cultivation they have that they can travel to other planet?' these are the only thing Lucis interested at. The heaven and God trend must be coming from somewhere so he want to know where is this trend coming from.

'the God and heaven on earth is just a myth but the concept still there. So there must be some powerful cultivator visiting earth long time ago or this is just coincidence... Both planet have people that want to create guilt conscience and they made this God and heaven' Lucis feel deep in his own thought.

"sis,when you become a fairy and go heave, bring back some moon stone for me" Subin tug on Suyi shirt and his eyes is full of excitement. Apparently, he thought only his sister is a women cultivator in this world and she soon join the heaven.

Lucis almost fell off the chairs laughing at Subin.

"don't worry, when you grow a bit more later you'll become immortal too." Lucis rub Subin hair while trying to hold back from laughing at him.

'ah, ignorance is a bliss.' Lucis shift his head and look at Suyi.

Suyi maintain the cold appearance but her face is red embarrassed by what Subin said. She knew why Lucis laughing at him, She's been learning a lot from Lucis since she start following him and Lucis has impart his cowardice on her, teaching her how cruel the cultivator society is.
