Xavier?

Rai disappeared and Xavier felt instantly relieved. He may be being petty but he didn't like anyone, not even an animal sharing his woman's warmth.

But seeing her curl up into herself and frown in her sleep immediately he felt regretful. She started to pout and he smiled, she was adorable. Did she miss that annoying fur ball that much, he wondered. Then he thought she may be cold.

He sighed internally for getting rid of her warmth, but he couldn't help himself. Then a thought came to him and before he could stop himself or think rationally he took off his coat and lay it neatly on the bottom of the bed.

He then kicked off his boots before opening the duvet slightly and laying down beside her. He reached out to pull her close. But to his surprise and joy, she snuggled up to his chest and held onto his shirt. Only then did her frown and pout disappear.

He heard her sigh and he let out the breath he was holding. He was very still but as she lay comfortably against his body he relaxed. He lightly laid his arm around her, she seemed so small and fragile against his muscular body.

He felt whole again, she fitted perfectly in his arms like she was always meant to be there. He couldn't imagine going forward in life without her being by his side, now that he had found her alive and well.

What is a person, if not the marks they leave behind…? And her death had left a crater sized hole in his heart. But now he felt complete he thought as a wide smile spread on his face.

He didn't need sleep, recently he only slept so he could meet her in her dreams. Instead, he lay beside her content…it's been over a thousand years and you are the only girl I have ever wanted he thought.

Suddenly she threw her leg over his, as she did her leg made contact with his arm and he felt her soft skin brush his. His eyebrow twitched, was she half naked he wondered. He didn't dare move.

With her body against his, a pang of desire ran through him. He tried to pull away but her hand reached out and held his shirt bringing him even closer. His eye's flashed with darkness, shadows flickering around him as he watched her sleep, her chest rising and falling.

He reached his hand out and ran a finger across her bottom lip. Her lips full and pink, he licked his own lips holding himself back from stealing a kiss.

"Xavier?" Selena barely whispered out.

He quickly withdrew his hand time stood still before he once again rested his arm around her waist. A smile spread across his face… she was calling out to him in her sleep.

"Would you let me keep you just for one lifetime... because being alone in a world without you in it... I can't do it again." Xavier whispered softly as he gazed at her sleeping face.

As he embraced her to his chest his bones seemed to collapse in one collective sigh, 'Oh, is this how it feels to feel safe?' he wondered.

A small smile graced his face before he closed his eyes and held her.

As the sun began to rise and the sunlight had started to stream through the cracks in the blinds Xavier opened his eyes and sighed. He didn't know if she was an early riser or not so he knew that he would have to leave before she could wake and discover him there.

He wished and hoped for many more moments like this together but he knew he couldn't be too eager. She had to fall for him in her own time. And if she didn't then he would protect her and stay by her side as his friend.

That thought alone killed him.

Her butterfly like eyelashes lay on her soft cheek, he wanted so much to lean forward and kiss her but he held back every muscle in his body.

He didn't want to leave her again.

He pulled away from her, as he left her warmth and comforting arms he could only sigh.

He quietly put on his boots and coat and glanced at her from time to time.

How nice would it be if he could stay and they could wake up to one another? He thought to himself. He found himself melancholy at the thought or the possibility.

Before he could change his mind Xavier transported himself to the kitchen, he wanted to grab some coffee as he left.

Cass was busy making Sunday breakfast for himself and his wife when he was suddenly scared by the appearance of his friend. "Can you not?"

Xavier raised his eyebrow in slight amusement as he grabbed a coffee mug and filled it with the bitter, strong coffee.

Cass was dressed in his navy fluffy dressing gown and matching stripped pyjamas.

"So you stayed?" Cass flipped a pancake as he talked to Xavier, a keen smile on his face.

Hearing no reply from Xavier he continued to talk, hoping to reach his friend, "Why dont you stay here so you can become friends? You have to admit it would be a good opportunity."

Xavier took a sip of the hot bitter coffee, before stating, "Not yet." Xavier was about to leave the kitchen and leave Cass's house when he heard his friends question.

"What if it turns out better than you could ever imagine?" Cass asked.

The question stopped Xavier's feet from moving forward, he thought of it for a while and turned around to face Cass.
