2.15: What I Want

"Wow," She breathed, standing in front of the windows, staring out at the smoke that had settled in the air in the city. She saw Darien walk toward the bathroom.

"I'm just going to clean up, make yourself at home." He called and stepped into the shower. Setia sat on the couch and just stared out at the city, wondering what Lucien was going to do now that she had escaped. She didn't notice Darien come back in the room.

"Can I get you anything? Wine, coffee, juice?" He offered. She smiled and looked back at him.

"I could use a glass of wine, if you'll join me." She called. He smiled and nodded, reaching in the cupboard for a bottle of red. He poured two healthy glasses and brought the bottle over. He handed her a glass gently, she took it. She raised her glass.

"To surviving the day." She said. He smiled and clinked their glasses.

"To surviving the day." He repeated.

They both took long sips of their wine. They sat side by side on the couch in the living room, which sat next to a roaring fireplace. Her thoughts were so clouded by the day, everything replaying through her mind. Nearly getting killed by the beast, Lucien locking her up, getting found out. She sighed. Darien looked down at her, and lifted his arm so it was wrapped around her, and he pulled her into his side comfortably. She leaned against him. He grasped her hand.

"Something about you… feels like I know you…" He whispered, playing with her fingers. She looked up to see his icy blue eyes staring down at her curiously. Something like recognition flashed in his eyes. Then he let go of her and was clutching his temples, he hissed.

"Darien! Are you okay?" She asked, placing her hand on his back. He nodded and slowly straightened.

"Just a headache very suddenly. I'm alright." He said. She had a feeling that he was about to remember something. Could he? Was that just wishful thinking? She took another sip of wine. He pulled her back into his embrace and settled her there.

"It's so hard to relax, when everything has been so crazy." She murmured. He nodded.

"We must take the peaceful moments when we can." She turned to face him suddenly, her face lined with worry.

"What about my parents? He's going to go after them!" She cried. Her father's business was reliant on dealings with the Alpha. He was going to use them to get to her. Darien stood up and pulled out his cell phone, speaking in hushed whispers with the person on the other end.

"We're sending a team in to get them, they'll be housed at Alliance HQ for the time being." He said. She sighed in relief. She leaned her forehead against his. They at least would be physically safe.

He placed his fingers beneath her chin and tilted her head up to look into his eyes, his eyes were soft, full of care.

"It's going to be okay." He stared at her lips, then slowly lowered his head, his lips brushed against hers softly. Then he deepened the kiss, leaning into her, he wound his hand into her hair. She kissed him back with fervor, nibbling at his lips. He growled.

He pulled her on top of him, never breaking the kiss. She straddled his hips, feeling the hard ridge of him against her through his pants. Her chest pressed against his, she could feel his heartbeat and smell the sweet scent of his alpha pheromones. She grew hot, she rubbed against him. He growled and bit her lower lip.

"Setia…" He said with a groan, and kissed down her neck, she tilted her head to the side.

"Darien.." She responded. She buried her hands in his hair, pulling his head back to look at her, his normally icy eyes were flickering red, and half-lidded with heat. She released him and ran her fingers down the planes of his hard chest, feeling his muscles.

Smiling, he placed her hands around his neck, then he stood, lifting her beneath her thighs. She squealed and clung to him, he laughed and walked across the room, kicking open the door of his bedroom. He dropped her down on to the bed, then playfully lunged on top of her, pressing his entire body along the length of hers. She smiled and hooked her leg around his hips, grinding up against him.

His eyes flashed red again. He burrowed his face into her neck and inhaled deeply. His fingers trailed down her sides, grazing her breasts. She shivered. He paused, taking deep breaths to calm himself. She made a decision in her mind.

She tilted her hand under his chin and urged him to look at her. She bit her lower lip, and blushed. Then she decided to just spit it out.

"Mark me." She demanded, baring her neck. His eyes widened. He reared his head back.

"What? No, we couldn't. We—I—" He broke off, running his hands through his hair. His eyes were dark red now, he stared at the spot where her neck meets her shoulder. She could see the fight in his eyes.

"He's after you though. He wants you. If I take you…" He trailed off, swallowing audibly. It would mean publicly going against the Alpha. It's one thing to be the underground head of a secret organization, but to be a public enemy of the leader of the city? The strongest of them all?

She wondered if it was the right thing. It was what she wanted, and it would theoretically make her useless to the Alpha, if she's already mated, right? She didn't technically have to raise the leads approval rating to 100 to complete the world. So she thinks.

"Are you sure?" His eyes were still red. He clenched the bedsheets he was leaning on. Setia took a moment, stared into his eyes, felt his heartbeat against hers. Then she nodded.

"I'm sure." She leaned in and nibbled on his earlobe, dragging her nails down his back. He hissed and ground his hips against her core, she could feel his erection against her thigh.

"Alright. I'll mark you."
