Ch 5 : Memorial

He managed to thrust into the unsuspecting monster's heart, and with a 'puchi' dragged his long weapon out and slammed the monsters away with a forceful blow to their heads.

Some staggered back, he took the opportunity to kick the nearby monster to another, leaving him a space before serving another thrust to both of the monsters' hearts.

Three fall, but he now have to face four remaining monsters.

He fall back and run to his shelter, the women restroom, before turning around to thrust another, unfortunately it didn't land on its heart, but he managed to kick it away before he was captured by those hands.

He aware that their hands may possess incredible strength to drag an adult of the floor, as many men couldn't escape from their claws although possessing enough muscles to outrun them. If they were besieged, of course they couldn't ended up surviving with lack of experiences and weapons.

He managed to thrust the fourth one, and slammed its body away to its companion, allowing him to run and close the bathroom stall. The door is open, leaving him a choice to thrust through them like satay or fight one by one. It's dangerous, but limited space is better for him than to face siege.

He managed to slay the second remaining, the last one pitifully dragged it's feet to its potential pray, when he slammed the first one away, he heard a loud crack, so maybe it's the one who bear the brunt and broke its feet.

He finished the last one and closed the bathroom door, arranging them neatly and keep a silence as he bowed to the bodies.

They are all the staffs, he didn't dare to look to their faces because of guilt, but now he silently pull their staff's ids and write the place of their bodies as memorials. Beside to help their relatives who looking for them, he can also get into restricted areas to rest and scavenge for foods and supplies.

He wrote down their names properly under 2 other people, he managed to find their ids inside their pockets.

He only took some id, he didn't need extra luggage, so only several ids acquired.

But most importantly, he gained access to the kitchen's storage.

It seems the chef went up to find somebody, but meet with unfortunate accidents. Now he might be able to stay there to wait for help after finding Qian Jie, dead or alive.

After awhile, he didn't find Qian Jie's signature beige skirt. But he didn't give up. It's better if Qian Jie ended up in different place.

Oh, now he think about it, didn't they say Qian Jie went out before? Maybe she couldn't come back before the outbreak suddenly happened inside secretary office?

But doesn't it mean he have to go up?

Secretary office naturally connected to the top office, where executives worked at. It's to ensure the secrecy and to stop unwanted guests and spy from another company to easily get in.

There's no staircase for normal staffs to the highest floor, the emergency staircase are also connected to secretary office. That's why they employed guard and identification scan in front the secretary window glasses, the reason that many staffs are jealous to Shi Xiao and people that befriend the secretary department's people.

It's not like no one didn't think further and try to befriend Shi Xiao, but after several months with no promotion news, they are all start to get impatient and disappear....

His mind then snapped from those memories and he slapped his head to focus back to the topic.

He can try to fight all of them head on, but they have place advantage for group fight, and more than 7 monsters, he couldn't possibly got lucky and managed to win unscathed again. To be honest, he managed to do first one are all due to luck, their limbs are all awkwardly hanging, only the first monster had their limbs intact, that's why he targeted it first. The rest of the monsters are missing some meat here and there, and the last one is even more unlucky, only its one leg intact, then it's bone also most likely broken when he smashed them into the wall. It's all due the advantage of the narrow hallway and well-planned surprise attack. If he have to fight inside the large room, won't the monsters most likely detected him first? If so, his surprise attack could ended up badly.

From what he seen, each of them have different sensing range, their vision and hearing might only available for certain range, unless it was a big sound like bombs. Although it was scientifically impossible, didn't zombies are also claimed as scientifically impossible?

He stared at the door, carefully thinking a plan.

" There's only 2 packets of biscuits left.... Does anyone find anything else? "

" Aside from some water gallons, nothing. "

" Shit, if only we manage to find the key to the pantry.... "

This bunch of people are all lucky survivor that managed to hide in a good place after the outbreak. There's 7 office men, and 6 young women and 4 janitors, there are a total of 17 people staying in front of locked pantry.

They have sent 7 men outside, but no news after almost an hour, making all of them anxious.

It's been 4 hours since the outbreak, which happened right after the foods are being replenished. Some canteen staffs managed to run into the pantry, but none wanted to open their safe hideout to other people, causing the people left outside to have no choice but look for spare id card in other places, such as security office where they place emergency cards. It's at the first floor, and they also hoped to be able to seal up the automatic door to outside. They still hoping to stay here until government rescuing them.

And between the young women who sit together to talk, a beautiful young woman with beige skirt stood alone, anxiety flitted her eyes more than once, her hand also rubbed her stomach several times unconsciously.

Song Qian Yi smiled at the enthusiastic staff, but her heart still uneasy. In face of danger, could she really kept her baby? And her friends...., were they able to survive?

She was meeting with upper floor people when suddenly one of them turned into a monster in front of several many bosses. It then proceed to bite several people, and she managed to guide them to emergency staircase to the secretary office. Fortunately, there was only 2 or 3 people there, then they joined to escape to the staircases.

At first, she wanted to persuade them to go to basement, she wanted to drive her car home, waiting for her husband to pick her up. But no one else think the same idea, instead they went to the kitchen to secure foods.

They encountered 2 or 3 zombies on the way, but all of them were solved by the men, the women safely arrived to the kitchen area. They couldn't go to dining area, the outbreak happened right in tea time, too much people sacrificed in order to lock down the dining area. Beside, there's only leftover and they might be contaminated by any virus going around inside.

" Just wait until we got the spare keys, those assh*les gonna taste my punches! " A middle aged janitor angrily swore. He looked to the women, hoping for compliments, but unfortunately everyone are too tired to care.

" Those b*tches! " He angrily muttered.

It's already 6 in afternoon, they turn on the light function on their phone. One is pointed towards the ceiling to disperses the light evenly, while the other one is pointed to the door. The other phones are all turned off, except Song Qian Yi's.
