End of an Era

In a split second the Monster and the Hero were zooming upwards into the air. A grim look resting upon the old hero's face during this brief clash. Suddenly. he stops them both mid air. The broken and hurt form of the creature hanging as they floated their for a few seconds the winds howling in their ears. "I can't understand the reasons that you could have been doing all this. . .All the Heartache you've brought! Don't you understand- Please. . .Explain to me or something and I'll try and help you. We can still get you help."

The creature gurgled its bones broken from Peace-Keepers blast and its body bent and limp and hanging on by strands of meat. Its flesh torn from the sheer force and speed Titan had deployed against it. Its head limp as it gurgles out a faint noise. Titan's grip digs into its flesh as a faint chuckle escapes the creature's lips.

The first sentient sound the creature had made as it finally whispers, "I. . .Am. The end of an Era." The hardened Hero pauses shivering gently at the faint itching pain in the back of his mind as the creature's jaw moves gently. His eyes narrowing before black filled his vision.

Titan grunts out in faint pain as the air explodes. A pitch black ball of light expanding over the both of them and causing Titan some discomfort. His skin tingled slightly yet his grip did not falter. His sight failed to pierce the cloud.

The creature in his grip seemed fully healed. The faint red glowing from its eyes piercing into his body with a new focus and intelligence to it. Titan's face shifts into surprise as he growls, "Your power. . .Your powers are focused on hunting, aren't they? Fight that voice in your head. I know about it- I had one just like it when-"

A faint red energy gathered around its throat and the bottom of its mouth. The energy dripped as if it were a liquid from the end of its mouth as the jaw crept open, no further words being exchanged as Titan stared down the red energy gathering. He lets go, pulling his left arm out of the creature's flesh and rearing back his fist before slamming his fist into it's skin. A look of sorrow crosses Titan's face as he whispers, "I apologize for this then. . .May God bless your soul, poor creature and may he forgive me for what I do next."

With his fist impaled on the creature he flies upwards for a few more seconds. The energy glowing around the creatures taking on a brighter light as they arc in the air for a few seconds before Gravity begins dragging them back down. The distance covered in mere moments as Titan propels them downwards is immense. The energy eventually blinds the old man and begins burning at his beard. Black bolts of energy trail behind them as fire builds up around the pair.

The flesh does not burn off the Monster this time as only feet above the ocean the world seems to slow in the vision of Titan. Reality seems to pause for a split second as gravity weakens the ocean below, starting to float upwards in large globs right before they slam into the ocean. A massive splash exploded all around as the Ocean turned bright red. The water bubbled and hissed, countless fish began floating to the surface as the war waged underneath the waves.

Titan would be blasted away from the blast. His cloths already singed as he holds his breath standing anchored to the sea floor as large gray vines burst forward from the ground trying to wrap around his body. Yet, despite the water and the vines bursting forth from the sea-floor his hands dart forward. Every second two explosions blast the water away. Each one a sign of Titan's punches landing upon the creature. The creatures body is driven deeper and deeper into the soft sea-floor the water tainted by a foul red glow.

Titan's eyes widen as he zooms to the side. Narrowly dodging a beam that blasted forth from the creature's skull cutting through the sea-floor with ease. It narrowly clips the back of Titan's leg causing him to wince. He zooms through the water making a sharp turn and getting behind the creature.

Then, a horrid sound explodes directly inside of Titan's ears's stopping him. He clutches his ears with his hands his skull screaming in pain. He lets go of the creature and zooms forward a new plan forming in his skull.

Before it could adapt to his speed he wraps his arms around the back of its throat and launches himself forward. Every second, two hundred miles were covered as flames dance around Titan's flesh as he slightly tilts his path leading them further and further into the sky. Soon, the world below is but a faint blue thing as the pair slam into the moon. The kinetic force cratering the moon as Titan keeps focus using his power to help keep the oxygen in his lungs.

The Creature is thrown off balance as Titan grips its horn tight and begins slamming his fist into its skull. Cracks forming all across. His fist was a blur and more akin to a jackhammer than a fist. No sound heard from its acts. . .Before Titan tenses up going utterly still as he grabs at his chest. His insides aching as he would put a hand over his mouth, eyes quickly going bloodshot as he tries to keep his mouth shut.

Another blast of pain fills his chest as he takes a knee gripping his chest and trying to keep the oxygen in his mouth. He looks up trying to not make a noise as the Creature slowly rises, sending another blast of sound. . .directly inside of Titan's lungs. The Superhuman holding his breath best he can taking some fingers up to his noise and pinching it shut as more explosions ring out inside his lungs damaging his insides and almost forcing the air out of his lung.

The membrane of his lungs being damaged by the sheer power in each one as he crouches down preparing to launch himself back to earth only for the Monster to dart forward. Its arms grabbing around him claws anchoring into spots where his flesh was weakened from the earlier blast. Titan hisses preparing to take off only for the Monster to yank him back down.

Titan glances backward his face red and teeth cracking as he keeps his mouth sealed and nose pinched. Behind him, the creature simply smiled as a massive network of roots appearing across the surface of the moon. Many of them withering and dying out while others remained all anchoring the creature to this ball of ice and dust. Blood vessels inside of Titan's brain began to bleed as sounds so extreme scream inside his skull that even his durability struggles to keep up with it.

Titan clenches his lips before putting everything he had into blasting forward. The Creature screams into the void as its legs are ripped from its body, the network of vines begins left behind as its claws remained wrapped around Titan as he darts down back to the Earth. The creature's arms shaking as it keeps itself pulled close to Titan as the red glow between its eyes builds up for only a second before blasting against the back of Titan's skull.

His eyes watering blood and salty tears he simply mutters, "I'm sorry." As he reached the outer limits of the Atmosphere he grabs the creature even as its claws sunk deeper into his flesh. In three seconds, he moves from the outer ranges of Earth's atmosphere to the Earth itself.

The people of LA be minding their business unknowing of what came their way as red energy flickered in the sky. . .Only one knew of what was to come from the sky. Monarch slowly rises as he closes his eyes walking forward dozens of people surrounding him taking pictures and recording.

Faint bits of energy flicker off him as he absorbs it from the surrounding electronics waiting for the vision he had been given from an Angel nonetheless to come true. As Titan slammed into the earth with enough force to decimate most of the planet. . .Monarch screamed his power, absorbing it all into his body as his mind shattered in a split second from the sheer amount he took into him.

Instead of North-America and most of the Western Hemisphere being decimated. . .Only the western Seaboard. Most of its land cracked as the tectonic shake shattered the land splintering and dying from the sheer force it was struck with. Massive cracks in the ocean are formed and all that is left of the Monster's and the Titan's fight being a screaming creature of pure energy unable to contain itself as its very power shattered its mind. . .Truly, this was the end of the Golden age of Idealism and the start of a wicked world.
