The five spheres of purple blood flew towards the birds, their speed was not slow and soon reached their targets. At that moment, something unbelievable happened. The five remaining vultures became invisible.

The eyes of all three humans widened, but for different reasons. Both Ruby and Ace didn't know that these vultures could go invisible, so their shock came as a surprise. Already with Lucas, the amazement came from his senses.

All this time, while he was fighting, his [Blood Intent] was active and he could sense all the mutants around him, including his comrades. But now, he couldn't feel anything coming from the vultures' position. This lack of awareness made him very uncomfortable, as he now knew how lethal those birds were, even more if they couldn't be detected. That wouldn't be so dangerous for him, as he had a great regeneration, but it was a different story for the cousins.

While his mind tried to find some solution to the problem, the spheres of blood did not stop and soon three bloodstains appeared in the air. Immediately, a trio of mutated vultures fell to the ground with horrific injuries. Two of them had their torso pierced, and the third had a hole in the wing.

The three young people had another surprise, actually it was a combo of surprises for the cousins. If it wasn't enough to see his newest colleague regenerate all his organs in an instant, absorbing the blood around him, they even saw him launch five purple spheres towards the mutant birds. After that, they watched the two birds that had their torso pierced begin to dissolve into a paste of muscle and flesh, leaving only a few cracked bones.

As for the third bird that had only its left wing damaged, it was the cause of surprise for everyone. After all, their wings were just made of bone, how did a hole appear, through which blood came out, in them? It was very bizarre. Ace didn't want to waste any time, so he threw one of his marbles at the bird to finish him off.

Everyone was curious about this last bird, but now was not the time to focus on the deceased bird. There were two unharmed birds and no one knew where they were. Lucas quickly reasoned:

"I don't see or feel them, what do I do?" He didn't have a solution to this problem, but luckily he wasn't alone. 'Ace! Maybe it will work!' Euphoric, he turned and asked:

"Ace, can you dust up towards the birds?" His tone was urgent, he didn't want to let these birds get away.

Ace didn't understand the reason for the question, but as he saw Lucas's tone, he nodded and moved his hands toward the floor. At the same moment, the dust grains began to levitate in the air, forming a dust barrier.

Wasting no time, he threw this barrier at the birds, this barrier was incredibly fast, even Lucas could barely see if he didn't concentrate. After flying for about seven meters, the dust barrier passed by the invisible birds leaving them marked.

When Lucas saw the vultures silhouetted through the dust, he was glad his plan had worked out and ran as fast as he could towards them. His mental energy was practically in short supply, so his speed wasn't as fast as before, although it was still faster than that of birds. In his hands, two more purple spheres appear, but they were now much smaller in size.

When he got within ten feet of the birds he moved his hands forward and fired the spheres. They hit the two fleeing vultures squarely on the ground immediately, and the corroding power of the blood finished the job.

Seeing that there were no more enemies, Lucas didn't even wait to get back to the car, he merely lay down on the ground with his arms outstretched and closed his eyes. His tiredness was immense, not even twenty minutes had passed since his backpack was torn, but that time was enough for anyone to die dozens of times

The cousins ​​further back weren't as tired, but they still had internal injuries. The birds' last cry damaged his ears and made him dizzy. But if there was a need, they would fight. They ran to Lucas to see his status.

He was totally skinned, some of his organs were showing, his muscles were all visible and his purple blood gave a hideous touch to his figure. The moment he saw Lucas in that state, Ace couldn't hold back and vomited everything in his stomach, he couldn't stand to see it. As for Ruby, she just frowned and kept coming.

She saw Lucas's skin growing, saw every fiber and muscle restructure. However, her reaction was very different from Ace's, he couldn't even look at her as she got closer and closer and even crouched down for a closer look. Her expression soon softened, not even blinking seeing all that purple and 'disgusting' flesh in front of her.

"Beautiful…" She muttered in her mind.

As time passed, Ace was still away controlling himself not to vomit, as the girl sat on the floor waiting for her new mate to wake up, she saw the entire process, including the convergence of the blood from the last dead birds to Lucas, regenerating him completely. .

After another five minutes of waiting, the lying young man finally woke up. He opened his eyes abruptly and stood up. His first instinct was defense, he was on full alert, but his realization soon told him that there was no imminent danger and that he could relax. With that, the young man calmed down and turned his attention to his friends. Seeing that they were okay, he relaxed even more. He still had a vague feeling that he was forgetting something, but since he saw everyone well, he ignored it. He asked just to be sure:

"Are you okay?" His expression, despite being tense, held a touch of tenderness.

Ace replied:

"Well the fuck! Your walking corpse! I can't stand it or remember—" Ace's cursing stopped suddenly as his mouth filled with vomit and he couldn't help himself.

The other two watching the scene did not hold back their laughs, after such a tense situation, that moment of relaxation was wonderful. Ruby took advantage of the light atmosphere and asked:

"Lucas, what is your mutation? It's amazing to be able to regenerate so fast! Ahh, but before…" Her voice held an arousal that forced any man to respond immediately, even more so if you added his looks and there was also a slight blush on her cheeks. After she finished speaking she threw in some changes of men's clothes she happened to have.

Lucas didn't immediately understand why he was being given clothes, but he soon looked at his newly regenerated, naked body. Immediately, his face turned red, and he didn't know where to put his face, or rather, his body. Fortunately, the girl had some clothes to borrow. Meanwhile, Ace was still vomiting and didn't see this interaction between the two.

Quickly finishing getting dressed, he tried to change the subject quickly, replying:

"Boy, I'm not even sure, but it has to do with blood." His voice was hurried, trying to hide his shame.

"For now, po-" He replied excitedly, but suddenly stopped. He looked at the horizon behind Ruby. Her eyes widened at the sight of her. He felt a sense of danger so great that it made his legs tremble. He thought:

About two kilometers away from the trio, an extremely large black cloud enveloped several buildings around it, its shape was not fixed, it looked like a swarm of insects or a school of fish. She was approaching so fast, Lucas couldn't quite define how dangerous she was, but he knew he wouldn't survive it.

When Ace and Ruby saw the fear in Lucas' eyes, they looked in the same direction and saw the black cloud. Their feelings were the same.

Everyone turned and ran towards the car, there was no speech, everyone knew what to do. The blue pickup was his only hope.
