Chapter 10 The White Flame

Merfoy makes sure that the kingdom of Samari was not surrounded by an evil soldiers and sorcerers by using his farthest sight power. He close his eyes as he tried to make his sight farther going into the kingdom of Samari where Maru was slayed.

"I can only see a burned body, no one was around the place either." Merfoy said.

"Then let's go now, we don't have enough time to travel until tomorrow." Niffa said as she prepared her bow and arrow which she get from Merfoy's magic tool box.

"Where did you get that? You don't need such weapon you have powers right?" Rico said.

"Well, at least I want to try on not relying on my powers too much" She answered as Rico smiled.

"Let me use my teleportation power" Rico said as Merfoy look at him in surprise.

"You have it too?" Merfoy ask.

"Yeah, I guess it's because I use to be a sorcerer and… I know it doesn't really belong to me"

"It's okay Rico, we will rely on that" Niffa said as she tap his shoulder.

They gathered round as they hold hands and in one snap of Rico's finger, they were standing on a dark and webby ground of Samari's castle.

"There he is!" Niffa said pointing a body near the broken door. They quickly approach the corpse as Rico kneel down to pick the body.

"Merfoy" Rico said as he look at Merfoy approaching them.

Merfoy saw the dark cracked body of a young man while his face is erased and the rest of the body was burned down into ashes. He put his left palm on the forehead of the burned body, as he whispered some magic words while his eyes were close as a sign that he is really concentrating towards his healing power. The whispering stops as they watch the body while the burned on his skin was renewed by a fine and fair skin. Maru's face becomes clear as they saw a face of a young man sleeping peacefully, he was dressed in pure white when suddenly he opened his eyes and inhale heavily as he seats on the ground.

"Maru?" Rico asked.

"Rico? What happened? Who are they? Where am I? What happened to me?" He asked out of confusion as he look at his hands and touch his body.

"Maru there are a lot of thing to explain but…" Rico said as Merfoy suddenly interrupts them.

"You are the prince of Thamali and your parents are waiting for you to come back so please come with us" Merfoy said as he grab the three of them and snap his fingers then in one blink they were standing in front of the book shelf.

"Where are we?" Maru ask as he look around still confused from what was happening.

"Welcome to Mt. Sadeste Prince Maru" Merfoy said as he bow his head.

"Wait, I'm still confuse! Why do you keep on calling me a prince?! Rico what is going on?"

"Here, read this magic book it's in page 1170 that will explain everything" Merfoy handled him the magic book as Maru look at him in confusion.

They give Maru a privacy as he read the pages, Niffa walk outside looking at the glim light of the sun. She tried to concentrate as she feel a glimpse of powers, she feel a slight scorch on her hands as her closed eyes felt a sudden heat.

"Niffa" she heard her mother's whispers as she saw her in a blurry way throwing her a ball of fire. Then she fall on her knees as she felt a sudden burned on her palms as she pants on the ground.

"Niffa? Niffa! Are you okay?" Rico ask running towards her, he help her to stand up as she look at his worried face towards her.

"I'm fine I just saw my mom again, maybe it's a sign for me that it's time for me to be the sun keeper." She look at her palm and to her surprise it was really burned but the wound was like a tattoo.

"What was that?" Rico asked as she showed him his palms.

"Look they have the same type of wound." Niffa said.

"And it's not just burned, it seems like a tattoo" Rico said as he touch them.

"A sign that you are ready to be the sun keeper" Merfoy said as they look back to see Maru with him.

"So, you know who you are now Maru?" Rico ask.

"Yes, I was kidnap by Seres and now my child hood memories just keeps on popping on my mind out of control"

"Like Rico, he was also kidnap by Seres and was actually the future king of Samari" Niffa said.

"And you?"

"I'm Niffa the Queen of Aldon"

"So we are all royalties here"

"Yes Maru, that's why we need your help" Rico said as he hold his shoulder as Maru can see the raging violet eyes of Rico.

"You're lucky your eyes are not red anymore, but me it's still red." Maru said then Merfoy suddenly place his palm on Maru's forehead.

"There, your red-eyed sorcerer is gone now we have the same white flames so I can do it unto you. You now got the white flame which represents peace and pureness, your power is to control the wind and do it for good purposes."

"Merfoy, you mean Maru's sorcerer blood is gone?" Rico ask.

"Yes, I take it away because we share the same color flame"

"I see" Rico said as he thought about his case, Niffa look at him in a pity way knowing that Rico wanted to become a mortal rather than the sorcerer he is right now.

The day ended and cold night came again as Rico and Maru talk in the balcony for a while.

"About the burning incident I apologize for…"

"No it's okay Rico, I actually doesn't want to follow Seres' stupid orders but he keeps on controlling my mind maybe it's because of his sorcerer blood and power he gave us."

"Well, Maru… I'm sorry for not returning from that night we should supposed to kidnap Luize."

"I understand why you did that and I'd do the same if I'm in your situation, but to be honest I do felt bad that you abandoned me and that time Seres was mad that he makes us kill a lot of innocent lives. I was actually thankful that you burned me because I really want to die than to live in such a cruel world killing other people, I always plan to kill myself but I can't. But now that I'm here I'm more thankful because I truly know the real me and who am I supposed to be."

"You are the prince of Thamali and you represents the flame of peace, that's why we need you and I do believe that together we will fight Seres to bring back the kingdoms he ruined including the kingdom of Veroma which does not belong to him"

"What do you mean Rico? He is not a real king?"

"Yes, he is the red-eyed sorcerer who is the brother of Merfoy the white-eyed sorcerer."

"Now all is clear for me"

"The past events are actually written in the magic book of Merfoy"

"I see, then tomorrow I will go back to the kingdom of Thamali" Maru said as Rico nodded.

Niffa approach Merfoy who is busy reading something with his weird tripled glasses.

"You have a power that can see even the farthest place so why are you wearing those glasses"

"I was not a sorcerer this time and I'm on my mortal state"

"What?"

"I learned from someone that I should not rely on my powers that much and that I need to try to train my mortal state."

"I learned that from Rico" Niffa said as she chuckled.

"And I learned that from you" Merfoy said as he chuckled back.

"By the way can I ask you something Merfoy?"

"As long as I can answer it go ahead." He said still concentrating on the book.

"Is there a chance that Rico can turn into a mortal one?"

"From his case, I think he can't go back from being a mortal again, or maybe he can in some instances"

"Why maybe? And what case?"

"Look Niffa…tried to analyse the situation, Seres gave him some of his red sorcerer power which is also an alternative of the red flame but stronger and that makes him a sorcerer, then your grandparents pass some of their green flame to him which makes him strong to resist enough Seres from controlling his mind, but do you know what makes him becomes a violet eyed? It's because he already had the blue flame in him from the day he was born and it's all mixed up. We have two options here first is to convince those who gave him the extra powers to take them back from him except of course for his blue flame which is really his true power. Second is to let him live a sorcerer life but he needs to face one final consequence, it is to pass his flames to a new kingdom he needs to make and after that he will die like what my father did. And another fact, my father Farghan is actually a violet-eyed sorcerer"

"What?"

"Their differences are Rico has only three flames on him while my father has five and it is written in the prophecy of sorcerers that those who had violet-eyed sorcerer which are rare types need to pass their flames to protect new generations from the kingdoms."

"And if they don't pass?"

"The violet-eyed sorcerer will be tortured by their own flames to death and it will took 10 years for them to suffer from it."

Niffa was shocked from what she just heard as she was confuse either to tell this to Rico or just let Rico know this by himself and let him decide what he wants.

"The first choice is better but impossible, because my grandparents are already dead they can't take it back and Seres will never take away his red evil powers from Rico. But the second choice is also good enough but the consequences… is painful enough to imagine" Niffa said as she felt a sudden sadness towards Rico's situation.

"Let's just say you didn't understand some of the details I tell you, but it's up to Rico which path to go after I'll tell him about it." Merfoy said as he walk away leaving Niffa confused and sad on the table.

"But if I were you Niffa, I'd rather tell Rico the first choice" Merfoy said then he walk up to his room.

"First choice? But how?" Niffa ask herself, while Rico was actually hiding on the other side of the dark corner and heard their conversations as he rest his head on the shelf sitting on the floor.
