Birth From The Unknown

It was the brightest of days, the sun completely covering the world in its shine where not even murder could upset such a faithful day.

Charlotte was on the soft cushioned bed inside the 4 roomed cabin from which Diablo has built, cabin with mediocre furniture showing a unostentatious living environment but a classy and old fashioned one too, which fit the tastes of both the people living inside.

Diablo gently walked in careful not to disturb Charlotte sleeping.

"She looks so peaceful" Diablo said with a gentle curve of his mouth.

He walked closer to the bed and sat on the edge gazing at his wife's face. " I never would of thought this could happen. Me getting engaged and married to someone has strong and dependable as you.."

He extended his hand trying to caress his wife's cheek. Suddenly her eyes opened wide and she looked straight in her husbands eyes "w.. what's the matter dear?" Diablo let out with a worried expression.

"Baby."

"what?"

"Baby is coming."

"WHAT?!?"

Diablo fell off the bed trying to call someone that could help with the delivery of the baby. He called every gynaecology outpatient clinic possible but none of them were responding there was clearly something amiss because this was one of the days where they were supposed to be working at these hours.

Diablo gritted his teeth and decided to run full speed to a clinic and forcibly drag one down to his home. He refused to not do everything possible to assure his wife and baby were safe and sound.

He stopped in front of a big white clinic around 20 km south from the forest in a fairly medium sized town called Mount Meridian, but something felt off about the town the streets that were supposed to be chock full of people was near about deserted, wind blowing the newspapers across the unclean hard rock and the creaky rotted windows almost shattering on contact.

"The hell happened here?" Diablo pondered loudly.

'Whatever it is, I'll just keep my guard up but there is no way i'm leaving without a medic' Diablo sternly engrained these words into himself knowing there might be trouble awaiting down the road.

Diablo full force ran through the double doors leading inside the clinic desperately trying to find anyone but to no avail, he ran at a speed equivalent to Mach 9.6, or nearly 7,000 mph which made him circle the inside of the building hundreds of times in the space of a few minutes " SHITT!!! Why the hell isn't there a soul alive in this town left!?!" Diablo started to curse to himself and this town for being utterly useless in helping his wife and child, he would make sure to note down where it was located so that he would come back later to burn it to the ground. Normally he would not be led to doing such savage things but right now all he could think about where two people and one wouldn't even be born if he didn't hurry up.

Diablo almost sped off but suddenly came to an abrupt stop. He slowly turned his head to the rustling coming from a tree branch just to left of him right outside the clinic. Something that normal people would just pass off as wind but....not Diablo.

"Who's out there!"

".."

"Answer me!"

*whistles*

Instantly, Diablo heard whistling come from the same tree branches, moments pass and finally a dark figure emerges from its hiding...no perhaps it is better to say it undid whatever spell it was casting and became visible for the common eye to see. Diablo was at a level where he was able to catch such menial party tricks from miles but then realised he was too distracted with thinking about his family that he took minutes longer than he should of to realise, he was careless.

"Splendid!, young one. You've surprised me. Not many creatures on this plane could detect my imperceptible state.. wait no! the primates call this differently here.. Ah! an invisibility skill correct? Its been such a long time since i've come down here i'm quite behind on the times you see" the shadowed creature chuckled sounding parched.

Diablo was glaring daggers at the creature in front of him that dressed rather sinister: cloaked in a jet black robe covering most of its body except for when the hands and feet stretched out however looked quite pristine almost luxurious.

Diablo ready to kill at a moments notice on the inside readied his resolve and then he finally said once more this time much more calmly but with a sense of assertiveness that could make even skeletons bow their heads in his presence

"Who are you."

The cold brisk winds started to twist with a vulgar stench, a smell so putrid it could vaporise even metal in its way.

"What did you say? i'm sorry time has made this old one quite death in the ears. Could you repeat?"

"I said who are you!" Diablo spat out in annoyance

"Ah! where are my manners indeed. Young one, this old foolish thing is called Apollo" the shadowed creature said while trying to lower its head in a bow seemingly creaking and cracking each of its joints and bones to be able to achieve such a medial and unnecessary gesture with one arm behind its back and the other across its cloaked chest conveying shrivelled up arms and wrinkled to the bone hands. Apollo then tried to move its shrivelled arm to the left side of its chest to indicate a courteous bow one that portrayed an air of mature royalty like this 'Apollo' has done this thousands of times making those few moves second nature.

'Did he say Apollo?' Diablo pondered for a few seconds before his eyes widened and his lips started to curve ear to ear.

"Could you be-" before Diablo said anything else the creature held its wrinkled hand in the air which looked to be a harder task than lifting a 50 kilogram weight.

"Young one, i know what you want. However i am afraid before you go there we must discuss a few things first".
