Journey

"The capital is the place which has the most significance in this world, it houses the royal palace, the royals, the nobles and of course, the depressingly oppressed commoners, any questions?" The masked man said.

"Well, what does this have to do with us going back?" Claire asked.

"Well, when you two cane here, you looked like a sorry bunch, boy, you look like you had a beating and you still have a few bruises, girl, it looks like you lost that arm recently as well. It seems that you aren't very proficient at using your powers and there is someone I know who could help you." the masked man replied.

"How'd you know that I have powers?" Claire asked

"Well, I won't tell you that or how to go back unless you do what I say." He answered.

They continued down their path until they reached a stream where they sat down and rested. The stream was very relaxing, the sound of the water hitting the rock and splashing back in sounds like music to the ears.

Claire dipped her toes in the cool, clear water while the masked man laid down under a huge oak tree and Alex was exploring a little further.

He leapt over the stream and continued walking down the forest until he reached a camp.

There was a clearing in the trees where a campfire and tiny hut were stationed and the same monsters from before were sitting around the campfire.

"Hmph, I need to learn how to control my powers?" he thought.

He climbed up a tree and hid in the leaves. He pushed enough leaves out the way to make a peephole and saw that they were looking in his direction.

"Argh, they heard the leaves." he thought. One of them sat up and started walking towards the tree and started sniffing.

The monster started squealing and all of the others started running towards him.

"Screw it," he thought

"Aaaaaah!" He jumped out of the tree and dropkicked one in the face, punched another but they started swarming him and he tripped over the one he knocked down.

He tried to get up but they were already on top of him and the light from above was fading.

Suddenly the light reappeared and some green liquid was spraying on him. He stood up and all of them were dead their guts and green blood everywhere and the masked man sheathing a sword.

The white-haired man was standing at the front desk of a hospital when someone shrieked.

The white-haired man rushed upstairs towards where the voice emanated from.

"Mr Davies, you're not allowed upstairs!" the woman at the front desk screamed while chasing him.

Mr Davies saw the shrieking woman and ran up to her.

She was lying down on the floor while pointing at a bed.

He looked at it and saw a bandana and knew exactly where it had come from and a scowl emerged on his face.

***

"Ugh, stop trying to prove yourself, it's pathetic, if you keep up this tomfoolery, you're going to become a liability," The masked man said

"Damnit, who does he think he is?" Alex thought.

Claire walked out of the bushes and they continued their journey to the capital. They were walking through the lush green forest for a while until they ended up at a towering mountain that seemed to go on permanently on either side so they had no choice but to trek up the mountain.

They were climbing but about halfway up the mountain, they encountered a pack of what seemed like wolves.

They had snowy white fangs protruding from their mouths and had ocean blue fur that looked soft like clouds.

"So pretty," Alex murmured while stretching out his arm but they started growling very loudly and exposing every one of their teeth which brought him back to reality.

Alex was panicking when the masked man pulled out the same sword from out of his clothes and unsheathed it and a menacing black aura surrounded him.

He seemed to teleport behind one of the wolves and cut its head off with a clean strike. Alex and Claire couldn't help but drop their jaws.

He then did the same for the rest of the wolves and it happened in a flash.

"Are you convinced now?" He asked.

They both shook their heads and they went on their merry way towards the capital through the thick snow that enveloped their legs, and not a single thing could be seen but the cloudless sky and an endless amount of snow in the distance.

"So how do you know the way back to the Capital and why do you know the exact location in the middle of a forest?" Alex asked.

"As I said earlier, you'll have to work for the answers to your question," He replied.

Alex grumbled while Claire was looking around in excitement, muttering things like "The sky is so clear," and "I've always wanted to see huge piles of snow.

The masked man was wading through the snow but he still had a strange elegance and nobility in the way he moved but to the untrained eye, it may seem like he was walking like a penguin.

They were walking for a while and there wasn't anything in sight other than boundless snow.

Alex and Claire were exhausted and we're on the verge of collapsing until they saw a huge tower stretching into the sky and were encouraged to go on by the prospect that civilisation was near.

They were freezing and their thighs were burning with pain.

Their cloaks weren't enough to keep the cold off of them and they had been walking for hours.

Naturally, Alex had been keeping them warm but he could only do so much.

They were finally at civilisation, Alex and Claire sighed while admiring the beauty of the town ahead of them.
