One of many forms.

Dhara.

"...you're welcomed to watch" she smiled at me. centuries old and the god is still so suave. I laughed internally.

I got off my knees and followed her to the entrance and as she said earlier, Yara's men were waiting at the base of the mountain. I glanced at Kaos and I couldn't quite read the expression she held but that was replaced quickly with a mischievous smile.

A bright light from under her paws enveloped her and I had to should my eyes and a few moments later, she was gone except for the faint buzzing. Then I heard screaming and gunfire. From where I was standing, all I saw was Yara's men shooting at each other and they didn't stop until they were all dead. Yara herself must have escaped the melee because she was nowhere to be seen.

"you can come down now, your enemies killed themselves" her voice resonated in my head and I looked back at the temple, it wasn't worth risking exposing her existence to the world after the stunt Yara pulled. Humans are greedy and that was a fact he knew all too well now. If he should take her back to the department, they would want to study her or cut her open and when they have proof of the power she holds, the government would forcefully get involved because to them, she's just a weapon.

I turned away and began my descent. she would have to destroy the temple herself. When I reached Yara's camp, I was awed. The camp was clean, there were no dead bodies in sight.

"where are the bodies?" I blurted. Just what did she do to them?

"I ate them." she burped.

"oh" I forgot she could do that "how did you...get rid of them?"

"ran a few of them mad" she stalked closer to me and sniffed me "you are hurt..." she pointed out "...did she hurt you?" she growled.

"No, she didn't" The growling ceased

"so what now?" she sat on her hind before coiling up. She seemed tired.

"let's get out of here" I headed towards on of the trucks in the campsite. I went around the campsite picking supplies for the road before going back to pick her up. She was fast asleep and didn't even stir when I picked her up. I placed her in the front seat with me and I drove off.

Kaos.

we were moving when I woke up. I used up all my strength answering Dhara's prayer but now I felt rejuvenated.

"where are we going?" I blinked multiple times trying to adjust to the night. "what is this?" everywhere looked strange. "The box is moving?"

"it's not a box...it's a car, it's like a wagon pulled by a horse but this one moves on its own...we are still on the road, I'm taking us somewhere safe. Yara's still out there, who knows what she might pull next." he didn't look at me instead his were fixated on the road, I'm guessing making the car move required unflinching concentration.

"I see...you are not taking me to your department?" I asked in surprised, that was what he wanted...that was why he came to my temple.

"not anymore, change of plans" he pulled at a stuck looking thing connected to the car and the car slowed down. "are you hungry?" He drove towards a small building and eventually slowed to a stop. "I have to go in to pay for a room...so stay here, alright? I'll be right back"

"Okay" I yawned and stretched on the seat. I looked outside and noticed how unkempt the building was. There was grasses growing in clusters in the front of the building making it look more dilapidated. I poked my head outside and saw lights in a distance. The realization that the world had moved on and changed hit me in folds. Whilst I was stuck in time, asleep, humans had built the world to their liking without the gods, they have learnt to move with the tide, they have solved their own problems without praying to the gods, won their wars without them. "fascinating...I should move on too." I closed my eyes trying to mind link with Dahime.

"Yes, Kaos. I see you have been busy" he sounded like he was working.

"I can check in later..." I did not want to interrupt

"No...no, it is quite alright. what do you need?"

"Besides you and I? which other gods exists?" I needed to know.

"not much of us left, Love and her minor gods, Nature and some of her minor gods, War and his minor gods and death are still kicking...There are new ones hanging around...humans have everything else handled on their own" he laughed but it sounded sad

"That is terrifying...not knowing who will drop next" I shook my head.

"All is not lost, we have been here since the beginning and still alive, if we wanted the humans to know about us, we would. For now it's just fun to watch them create life from their imagination and watch some backfire on them" he giggled lightly.

"I see." I agreed with him. After seeing the extent Yara would go to have me.

"why did you really contact me, Kaos"

"The human...I am afraid for him" Dahime laughed "what is so funny?"

"The fact that you said you were afraid...this is like hearing the god of war say he cannot start a war because he is afraid of hurting humans" he laughed again.

"...I might break him...he is weak, too weak for a god" I mused

"Then try not to be a god to him, you have many forms you can take...it is only a matter of time before his mortal brain melts all because he tried to find a logical reason behind a talking fox with unimaginable cosmic powers"

"Wise as always...I will do just that" I glanced to the side and saw him walking back "he is coming back, Thank you, Dahime" he whispered a response and shut the mindlink off.

"come on, let's get inside." he opened the door, I hopped out and we went inside. Luckily, the man at the front table was nowhere to be seen or he would have complained about letting pets in, Dhara explained to me later.

Dhara.

The room was modest, the bed had clean white sheets, the light flickered on and off occasionally, there was a small closet on one side of the room with a black candle stand on it and a single blue couch by it. I turned around and found Kaos looking at me with an expression I couldn't decipher. I might as well just give up.

"your shoulder..." she started "I do not have the power to heal...I would have done that" she looked away.

"You've done enough for me today, it's time for me to keep you safe...don't worry about my shoulder, it'll stop hurting soon" I smiled. "hungry? I've got some energy bars here and fruits"

"I still have a full belly from all the bad people I ate" she scratched the back of her ears exposing her underbelly markings.

"Okay, you can sleep on the bed if you want..." she immediately hopped on it and coiled up again. The car ride was bumpy and I doubt she was comfortable on the seat. she murmured in content.

"this is comfortable than the car ride" she yawned again.

"sleep well" I sat on the opposite side of the bed, took off my dirty shirt and started munching on an apple. Halfway through eating I felt the bed dip and a few creaking sounds so I turned around to see what it was. my half eaten apple dropped to the floor.

I blinked my eyes a few times unable to believe what I was seeing. The white fox was no longer there instead a beautiful white haired, dark skinned woman slept in her place. Her face was serene as she slept and my eyes trailed to her body and I snapped my eyes shut. She was naked. I could feel my face turn red as the realization hit me. I pulled the blankets up and covered her with it, staring straight at the wall as I did. I heard a giggle.

"you act like you have never seen a naked woman before." she smiled up at me, her cold blue eyes locking with mine, she kicked the blanket off. She had the same markings as the ones in her temple all over her body, her body... Her breasts were small and perky and I wanted to reach out and touch them but I'm a gentleman, I caught myself before I did anything stupid.

"I h-have...just not a gods' ...p-please cover up" I stuttered, closing my eyes again.

"and if I do not?" she was by me in a flash, kissing my collarbone and her hands wandered.

"I don't want to think about it... I'm a man after all" I managed to say as I felt her hands tug my pants and those fell to the floor in a dusty heap. "please..." I gulped. she is so domineering and I found it very hot.

"please what?"

"Stop..." but I couldn't do anything with her, not now at least when we're not out of danger yet

"This is one of my many forms... but you do not have to call me Kaos in public...as I reasoned that would cause you to answer uncomfortable questions. My other name is Naga" She explained.

she flicked her wrist and a white robe covered her, her hair twisted themselves into long thick box braids and she walked back to the bed.

"I am not letting you off next time, Dhara." she winked at me and prepared herself to sleep.

"I'll sleep on the couch" I muttered.

"you dare not..." she glared. "you do not have to worry, I will not touch you" she said softly and I nodded

"Goodnight, Naga" she was already asleep and I tried to do the same.
