Insig crossed his legs and deeply inhaled. He closed his eyes to feel his mana heart. Insig felt the life and death energy inside his body, it was like yin and yang.
Insig controlled the life aura to slowly cover the mass of death aura. The death aura was then suppressed.
When you look at Insig now, the death aura is gone. This has removed the hint of paleness from his body and he was now releasing a soothing aura.
'It worked! Wait.... Oh no!'
Insig was happy but not for too long. He discovered that although it hid the death aura, the death energy was slowly being eaten by the life energy.
Seeing this, Insig quickly removes the covering of the life aura and puts them side by side to make a cycle and balance them once again. Slowly, the amount of death energy comes back to its origins size
*Sighs*
Insig sighs in relief. Once the death aura was put out, it will be hard to have an affinity with the death aura again unless he dies again.
'This..... I need to regulate them while the life aura is still hiding the death aura.... What should I do?'
Insig suddenly got an idea. He once again used the life energy to cover the death energy, it was just like the golden wrapper of the chocolate Fer*ro R*cher.
But this time, half of the death aura was killing the life aura covering it, while the other half was being eaten.
Creating another cycle but with a different form. Even though it's just a difference in form, it's still useful in masking the death aura to avoid suspicions.
Insig then stood up and was about to wear his suit. But he stood up so fast that he got a bit dizzy and hit his head on a door.
'Damn! That was embarrassing, I hope no one saw that.'
Insig circulated his life aura to lessen the dizziness. After taking a deep breath, Insig immediately takes a bath, cleans himself, and wears his suit based on his memories.
'For now, I should do what the original does so I can familiarize myself with the world.'
Insig thought to himself and he's current destination was the [Cafeteria].
Insig was in a military base and all healers are needed to be on standby in case of an attack. As he makes his way to the canteen, he sees many knights and magicians patrolling the place.
The troops were divided into mages, healers, and knights, to better make use of their attributes.
Knights tend to have more affinity towards rocks, metal, or other elements that are useful for close combat and can be applied to their body.
Mages prefer to attack at long distance and are mostly associated with wind attributes or such. Flame energy is one of them too as in close combat, they may burn themselves.
And lastly, the healers. They tend to have affinity towards water, plant, or vitality aura as they are useful in healing wounds. But there are exceptions like a person with poison affinity.
You can somehow guess a person's attribute by the aura they release. An ice attribute person may have an icy atmosphere around them. Although there are certain artifacts that can hide your aura.
As Insig was walking, he saw a bunch of shirtless knights training in the sun. They were a bunch of eye candies as you can also see all types of people training there.
They were the flamde attribute troops. It was said that you're lucky if you're a fire attribute person because you can easily enhance your mana heart by absorbing the power of the sun.
It may seem like a harsh training but it's actually good for them. Because they can absorb the flame energy from the sun and strengthen themselves.
Insig made his way towards the [Cafeteria]. As he entered, he smelled the appetizing aroma of meat and other dishes. Chefs here, although only using salt, still can make rather good food, because they can control the fire extremely well through their magic.
He saw a line of soldiers, wanting to get their meal. He picked up a tray and went in line.
When he was about to get a meal, Insig showed his badge to the canteen staff. The canteen staff then served them his meals free of charge and with additional dishes.
'This oddly feels good, too bad though, they can only be used at wartime.'
This was a rule established by the military as a privilege for healers. This is because a healer replenishes and increases their life energy through absorbing death aura in a natural way.
When people digest food, they convert the death energy into life energy. Healers then use the excess energy to enhance their mana heart. They also use it to replenish their energy.
Although healers can also get energy in a different way, others would take months to fully absorb.
With the tray in his hands, Insig took a seat in the nearest table. He looked at the messy combination of weird-looking parts of meat and the greens. He was not once bit familiar with it. However, with the memories of the 'original' Insig, he recognized that these were parts of some animals that would have gone extinct by the technological era.
After gaining courage from the memories of eating the unfamiliar food, Insig took a 'dive' and ate it.
Insig was immersed in the texture of the meats and greens. The texture only, though. Since it was wartime, the military couldn't possibly even think about the taste of the food, so some were bland. Especially since salt is extremely rare in this time and place.
As Seiki devours the dishes one by one, he is shocked to find out that he doesn't feel full yet even though he has eaten enough for ten people.
He closed his eyes and 'saw' that there was a faint magic energy being produced inside his stomach, it was then absorbed by the mana heart. After eating 10 more dishes, Insig finally had his fill.
Insig wants to get stronger easily, so he went to the [Hospital] to train his powers. Even though he used magic in the fight with the Grim Reaper, he hasn't tried to heal other people. He was slightly curious as to how his powers work on other people.
Of course, this doesn't only benefit the wounded. Healers can purify and condense their aura by healing people. This allows them to build a good foundation for their mana heart.
In the [Hospital], there were many people coming to and fro. It was normal to get hurt in training and hunting, so there were always [Hospitals] in bases established by the military. And with the help of healers, wounds are nothing but momentary pain.
Insig went inside and saw the reception. He saw a line there with many wounded soldiers. But every time they come out of the door they enter, they will be full of smiles. It was a bit weird seeing this because this was the same as...
Soon, it was his turn.
"Are you hurt? Do you need healing? Where's the wound?"
Insig showed his badge again. It was a white shield with a green cross in the center. This was a badge representing the healers with a life element.
"Oh! So you're a healer, are you here to report on duty?"
The receptionist asks, weirdly though, she was looking at him like he was a prey getting caught in the trap.
"Yes"
Insig smiles wryly and answers.
"That's great, we are severely understaffed, we hope you won't escape."
The staff smiles brightly and warns him.
'This..... Is there so much workload in the past? I guess it's because there's a big fight coming so they trained extra hard.
Insig felt scared. He had experienced what it's like to work all day long without a single wink of sleep, and it surely was not a pleasurable experience.
The lady calls a guard and leads him to a room. There, he saw patients sitting and being taken care of. There were also cases of broken bones and strains. Oddly enough, they were rather common.
'This.... It's much bloodier than the hospitals back in my world. I guess it's because wounds are belittled more because they can be healed by life magic.'
He saw that there were many people with a soothing aura around them. They were wearing white clothes with a green cross. You can see them walking around while they heal people.
Insig looked around and observed, what caught his eyes was a person with a large bleeding claw mark at his arms. The wound was not life threatening but you can see there were many healers healing him.
Insig was slightly curious and scanned what was going on.
Insig was perplexed and inspected the wound. He saw that in the area around the wound were hints of flame aura releasing heat, burning the skin around them.
He then saw the surrounding healers releasing a rope shaped green energy towards the wound. The aura's movements were flexible, like a flag in the wind. Oddly though, there was no wind inside the room, so they were being controlled by the healers themselves.
If you look close enough, you will see that the green aura was releasing golden lights. The aura was oddly satisfying to look at and just looking at it can make you feel revitalized.
'This..... is this the healing magic? How beautiful and calming.'
Insig looked at the patient who's closing his eyes in bliss. He looked like he was being massaged.
Insig once again looked at the wounds, he didn't understand why there were so many healers helping him when the wound was rather small.
