*Crack* *Pop* *Sigh*
"Aaahhh! Nothing beats a light stretch in the morning!"
Insig swings his arms around to make his bones produce a cracking sound. He then stretches his body a little, reaches for his toes, jumps lightly, and others.
After that, he took a quick bath, then wore his healer suit and checked himself in the mirror.
Insig observes the young man in the mirror. His sharp and thick pure black eyebrows multiplied with his dark silky sideway hair adds a hint of coolness, seriousness and manliness to his face.
His hazel brown eyes which shine brightly like gold when hit by sunlight, combined with his slightly long eyelashes makes him look more pure and vulnerable that adds cuteness to his face.
But when he looks playful, that cuteness turns into a look of schadenfreude and pity which makes him look more intelligent and mature.
His sharp nose, thin pink lips, and round face adds a hint of seductiveness to his face. He looks like a kind and pure guy when he smiles which is strengthened by his healthy complexion caused by the harmonious life aura of his mana heart.
He nods slightly as a sign of satisfaction at the almost perfect combination of liveliness of youth, cuteness, intelligence, and handsomeness.
Insig was slightly bothered by his small build as it gives him a feminine aura but he bears with it because he already knows a way to get more muscular.
Insig has always been a superficial person, but he doesn't treat other people badly..... well, only a teeny bit.
Insig was cheerfully humming the songs that he always hears in his last life. Insig was in a good mood because all the experience he had was really not a dream.
He was really scared of the thought of waking up back in his past world. The life there was colorful, but it was ever changing and meaningless. You can hear beautiful music, play games, eat delicious food, see beautiful sights, learn new knowledge, but for Insig, it was all just a beautiful illusion.
Because at the end of the day, you'll get older, get sick, see the ugliness of humans, get sad and die.
It was like desperately filling up the empty bottle with happiness, good memories, ecstasy, victories, accomplishment. But when you look at the bottle, you'll see the ugly and scary truth that you just can't escape from.
That you're born lonely and sad, and you'll die lonely and sad. It was a form of hell in itself. These thoughts keep gnawing at Insig's heart in his past life. But now, Insig felt like a fish in warm water, or a bird in the vast sky. To be honest, back in his past world, he was edgy as hell. So now he wanted to live a new life. Even though he doesn't regret his past life, he doesn't want to repeat them again.
Insig shakes his head lightly, takes a deep breath, and removes the sentimental thoughts out of his head.
He opens the door of his room and looks at the sunrise. He smiles at the rising sun and it shines on him, like it was greeting back.
'A new day, in my new life, in a new world. Too bad they don't have coffee here.'
Insig smiles and thinks to himself. Insig makes his way to the [Hospital], and as he was walking he saw the soldiers training at the field.
The training field was rather large, and this was only one of the 5 different training fields scattered across the base. The fields had different environments based on the 5 basic elements.
What field he saw was the same as yesterday, it was the flame element field. This kind of field simulates a natural volcanic environment, although it was not as hot.
But this was enough to enhance the flame energy at the field. This helps the flame element soldiers get stronger and absorb more energy.
Insig felt that the temperature had risen and there was a fiery aura coming from the field, making the nearby land look deserted and dehydrated.
Oddly though, the soldiers looked energetic as heck. You can see the shirtless soldiers' blushing tanned skin, ripped abs and the sweat trickling down to their skin. Some of the girls passing by kept looking at the scene with their mouths wide-open.
There were boys whispering too as there were also flame element females on the field. They release a fiery aura that feels like they're gonna erupt any moment, which adds to their charm.
They look like lionesses with their sweating clothes that stick to their skin that makes their curves more defined. They also had a thicc pair of thighs which just makes you kind of hungry.
The instructor saw them looking and immediately flared up. He produced a fire spear in his hand and aimed at the land in front of the watching soldiers.
"What are you watching for? Stop dilly dallying around and do your jobs! You think you got some time to leisure huh? Do you think this looks fun? Why don't you join them? Just remember that if you don't last for 8 hours, I'm gonna f*cking roast you!"
The surrounding soldiers quickly hurried away in fear of the instructor.
'Phew! That was scary. It is always known that flame element users have an explosive temper as the magic energy in them is restless and affects their body and mind. I guess it's hard for them.'
Insig too, quickly flees from the scene and makes his way to the hospital. He saw that the staff was different from before.
'I guess she went to rest.'
Insig greeted the staff and gave her his badge to show that he was on his way to duty. He was guided by the guard to the room which currently needs healers.
He then went to the room which has many beds and patients sitting or lying around.
He slightly smelt the scent of herbs, blood, sweat, and others. He saw healers and helpers walking around, changing sheets, helping patients, and healing wounds.
He went to one of the beds which had a helper calling for a healer. His first patient for the day got hurt from sparring. Based on the shape of the wound, it seems to be a cut from a sharp object, like a sword.
Knights not only train magic but also some martial arts too, as you can't just stand there and not dodge the enemies' attacks. Martial arts also slightly helps them with accuracy in hitting enemies with magic.
His patient had a wound on his shoulder. What was eerie though, was that there was no blood flowing out because his skin, blood vessels, and such, was frozen.
'Seems to be an attack from an ice-attribute attack.'
Insig used the most energy-saving procedure to heal him, and went to the next patient. This then went on and on, 'till the 10th patient.
As a level 4 healer, the largest injury that Insig can afford to heal using most of his energy is an amputated arm. He can only heal about 10-15 lightly wounded people with his weak mana heart.
So he took a quick break, ate breakfast, refilled his mana heart, and then quickly went back to work.
This was the kind of training that healers go through everyday. It was just like smithing.
Healing patients was just like refining and hammering the mana heart, and taking a break was quenching the mana heart. This was the most efficient way of leveling up weaker levels of mana heart.
Hours later, Insig went to the next patient. He was shocked to see a familiar face. It was his first ever patient!
He was also crying this time too. He had bruises and wounds here and there. His hair was messy.
He looked like a beggar on the street who got beaten up for fun. He had a large bleeding wound from his shoulder, down to his elbow.
Even though there was a drastic difference from yesterday, this guy left a deep impression on him, so he remembered him.
Insig looked at him speechlessly. Insig sighs and feels pitiful. But upon remembering that enthusiasm, he quickly felt that it was normal.
He sometimes saw that enthusiastic people were the first to get beaten up in times of war.
Insig quickly went over to do his job. He quickly cleaned the wound, healed his inner and external injuries, and called for a helper to bring a towel and water basin to wash his face. He also reminded the helper to get clothes to change.
Insig was then about to go away but the patient held him back. Insig tried to remove his grip from his arm but to no avail.
'What the heck? Is he gonna take revenge on me for ignoring him?'
"Wait! Don't leave! I haven't thank you yet! You just left me behind yesterday, I even got lost going out of the hallway."
Insig looked at him speechlessly as he thought to himself.
'How did you get lost when you just had to walk in one direction? And how is that ever related to me?'
But Insig didn't answer like that. He has always loved to put up a kind front and always tried to not be rude to strangers.
So he secretly takes a deep breath and immediately wears a refreshing professional smile and answers back.
"Oh, I apologize then. How may I help you?"
"Oh, it's nothing. It's just that, can I get your name? And can we also be friends?"
Insig inwardly rolls his eyes.
'Friends? Who wants to be your friend? I hardly even know you! I don't even know your name!'
That was what he thought but he inhaled deeply to calm himself and still wears that kind smile.
"Friends? Of course we can. Why not?"
Insig chuckles and introduces himself.
"I am Insig. This was the name given to me by the adults at the orphanage."
Insig thought about this already. He was currently putting up a front as a weak healer with no combat power as his death magic was his trump card. He had also been warned not to easily show death magic to others. That's why he's trying to hide it. He also knows that death magic doesn't exists, that's why the moment someone finds his uniqueness will be the moment of his doom.
So he needs to get all the help he needs. He was planning on expanding his connections by helping people in need. Of course, he too also wanted to help them in the first place.
'Whatever. Getting one more friend won't hurt anyways.'
"I'm Richie! Well then, we're best friends from now on!"
Richie smiles brightly like the sun. Even though he looks messy, his enthusiasm was not hidden in any way. He looked slightly cute instead as he was like a child happily playing in the mud who found his first friend ever. But... they felt forced.
'What best friend are you talking about? Aren't you going too fast?'
Insig was speechless but he smiled and agreed.
"Sure!"
