Cradles

[It's hard to breathe but that's alright]

Drip.

Drip.

Droplets of water kept falling on her head causing her to stir awake. She found that she was chained to her bed in a damp cell that allowed little air in. An improvement from those ropes that they had tied her with, at least she was feeling proud that they were actually seeing her as a threat.

"Hey!" She yelled at the guard posted at her cell door. The guard ignored her, she had her natural long black hair in a ponytail that reached her shoulders. She was wearing a green uniform with black stripes across it and she had the same dark shiny skin color as Sarr.

"Come on, help a fellow black girl out?"

"I'll advise you to shut up, that's the help I'll give you."

"Bitch." Sarr muttered angrily, earning a laugh from her guard.

"You really think you're the shit huh."

"I'm the leader of the ruling gang of course I'm the shit."

"In your dreams."

"I like you.." She waited for a name.

"Namonda." The guard supplied.

"Yes, listen if you let me out I'll make sure you don't get killed."

"I'm a lunnie dear, I should be the one striking up a deal not the other way around." Sarr had to think of another plan if she wanted to escape from this hell hole. She wondered where Sunn was.

"Where's Sunn?" She asked, trying not to sound desperate.

"Oh, your little boyfriend is being held in some place I can't tell you about."

"I'm not going anywhere so what's the harm in telling me?"

"Nice try Sarr but I'm not falling for your little tricks." Realizing that this wasn't taking her anywhere, she focused on her cell trying to find anything that she could use.

Drip.

Smiling, Sarr adjusted herself so that the chains would have the water dripping on them.

"You're in a good mood for someone who is being held prisoner."

"I have good company." This made Namonda smile.

"I'm hungry, do you give your prisoners food?"

"We do, to the cooperative prisoners but the stubborn ones like you get to go to the dining hall." Sarr didn't like how good that sounded

"Dining hall?" Opening the cell door, Namonda stood smiling at her.

"Oh you'll see." Grabbing Sarr by the shoulder, Namonda led her to the dining hall. The corridors they passed were noisy but not the pleasant type of screams. Within minutes they were standing at a giant double door.

"Help a fellow black girl out and don't seem friendly to me." Namonda didn't wait for her response and shoved her through the door.

The men from the club were all here including women and men that she hadn't seen before. She scanned the room as it quieted down upon her presence, when her gaze met Donny's she narrowed her eyes and gave him a death glare. His eyes were surprisingly not swollen but his lip was busted.

"Move!" Namonda's voice turned rude, so this was what she meant.

"You owe me." Sarr whispered to her, Namonda's response was a shove. Sarr didn't fight back, she played her role of weak prisoner. Namonda led her to a seat that was at the head of the table opposite Mr grey eyes who was at the head of the other side of the table. Donny was two seats from her while Mr van was five seats away. Great.

"She's being tamed well." It was Donny

"I worked my magic." Namonda responded from her seat next to Sarr.

"Continue working that magic and you'll not find yourself in the same situation as your brother." This caused Namonda to flinch and grip the chair, interestingly.

"Right."

After the awkward silence, everyone ended up returning to their conversation but Donny and Mr grey eyes watched Sarr. The food came in and none was given to her, she dropped her gaze as the rest of them ate.

"Here, eat." Donny had passed his plate of food towards her, she searched his eyes and found nothing. She felt Namonda grip her hands warning her to keep quiet.

"Good, I'm impressed." Donny said before taking his plate back.

"Take her back to her cell and make sure she is fed." It was Mr grey eyes who spoke as he watched her with confusion and curiosity.

"Of course Hades." With that she was dragged back to her cell where she found food already waiting for her.

"How did they know that I will pass?"

"Because I was your guard." Sarr didn't have to ask how Namonda managed to reform stubborn prisoners.

"Thank you." Sarr never thought she would tell a lunie this.

"Don't thank me yet."

"What's up with you and Donny?" Sarr hated the look Namonda gave her but she deserved it for being nosy.

"None of your business." Namonda snapped walking away

Sarr was left alone in the cell and she focused on finishing her food. It was actually amazing.

"You can't fool me, what happened?" It was Hades, he was wearing grey sweatpants with a white shirt. Grey sweatpants!!!!

"Wearing grey sweatpants is not the wisest choice if you ask me." She tried not to stare but to prove her point, she stared with a fake bored expression. It was actually an impressive sight.

"Don't try changing the topic." He ignored her stares like they meant nothing. "How did you turn from being bratty to being a doll that does what it's told?"

"It's not like I have a choice, besides, it's what you want right?" He nodded at that.

"Aren't you going to ask about your boyfriend?" Hades snorted at the word boyfriend like it was the most ridiculous word ever.

"First Donny and now you, being jealous won't take you anywhere." She jokingly replied.

"I'm not jealous, I'm surprised."

"Why?"

"You don't wanna know."
