Regrets

"Do we have another option?" I asked, "Nope I think not…but it is just a game. It's not like it's going to kill us or anything," he said. 'Just a game? Then why was there a warning on the case?' I thought.

I reluctantly stood up from my bed and went to my gaming room with the game in my hands while Felix followed me.

In my gaming room, there is a massive black and gold marble table on which there are three gaming PCs. Beside them are three gaming systems and next to the systems there are a lot of headsets and controllers, there is a chair in front of the table, on one wall of the room there are smart lights which respond to sound vibrations, on the other wall there is a shelf made of glass and crystals full of video games, it has five hundred and sixty-eight video games in it. The ceiling has neon lighting which changes colours every one minute.

I went to a system, plugged in the game and plugged in my VR headsets. I gave Felix an extra pair, we gripped our controllers, 'Here goes nothing,' I thought.

A message on the screen popped up {PRESS PLAY TO PROCEED} we pressed play {CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER OR BE YOURSELF} The second option sounded odd but Felix and I still chose that option. {FELIX LEE AND ACE PARK} The screen said on the screen there were characters which looked exactly like us, "Something doesn't feel right," I said, "Yeah no kidding." We analyzed all the details of the characters on our screens and everything was the same the game hadn't missed a detail.

Felix's character looked just like him, fair white skin, blonde messy hair, black eyes, grey shorts and a white top, the brown birthmark on his right arm. My character had my milky white skin, midnight black hair, blackish and greyish eyes, my V-shaped jawline, my silver earrings, my black jeans with the silver chain attached to them, my white shirt and my headphones which were hanging around on my neck.

Our hands gripped our controllers and we pressed {CONTINUE}.

The next thing I knew was that I started to feel dizzy as if I was ready to pass out, I took off my VR headsets and looked and Felix who also took his headsets off, "I feel gross," Felix said "So do I," I sighed. We put our headsets back on and ignored the gross feelings we felt.

On the screen there was a message which said {CHOOSE YOUR POWER REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE} Felix and I chose two very different powers I chose 'HEAVENS WIELD' This power enabled me access to seventy-nine swords each comprising of different elements, some swords were weaker than the others while some were stronger. Felix chose 'LIGHT AND SHADOW' This power enabled him to control both light and shadow.

At this point of the game Felix and I couldn't ignore our sickness anymore we hurriedly pressed {NEXT} and there was a warning on the screen...

We read out the warning it said 'WARNING!! DEAR PLAYERS, THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE GAME TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEATH OR INJURY, KINDLY PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK. RULES WILL BE EXPLAINED TO YOU IN A LITTLE WHILE. FOR NOW, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO REMOVE YOUR HEADSETS ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK PLAYING THE GAME! HOPE YOU COME BACK IN ONE PIECE!'

'One piece? Death...Injury.' I thought those words kept on playing in my head then it hit me! "THE WARNING ON THE CASE! WE COULD DIE! FELIX TAKE OFF THE HEADSETS NOW!" I yelled. A voice on the screen said {HEADSETS LOCKED}. We couldn't take off our headsets and it felt like something was restraining us from getting up. We were trapped and we couldn't do anything about it. Thousands of images of my brother were playing in my head, I was cursing and blaming my dad for giving me this video game, 'If he didn't give the game I wouldn't have been in this mess,' I thought.

Suddenly a very strange image flashed in my mind I saw my brother...…..he was staring at me while smiling sadly and saying 'I love you Ace but I warned you,' he said suddenly his body started to turn into pieces of glass and I was just standing there not even trying to put a stop to it. It felt like a train ran over me. I was heartbroken, I couldn't move and the worst part was I saw my brother in pain but I just couldn't do anything about it.

Just like that, I was alone.....with no one to guide me, no one to help me and no one to love me. It's crazy how in just two seconds your world can turn upside down. Tears poured down on my cheeks, it felt like a thousand knives had stabbed my heart at once and I felt the pain...…the pain of losing someone you love, the agony of just standing there helpless, the guilt of not being able to aid my brother and anger. I tried to snap out of it but it was no use.

Then I was alone in a dark room with a book and a key, the key was made of gold and diamond while the book was made of emerald. The book was labelled 'Rules' and the key had an inscription on it. I knew these items seemed familiar, I knew I had seen them before but I just couldn't remember where.

I looked at the book, I carefully examined the cover and I found blood stains but it wasn't human blood it was animal blood a foxes blood to be precise. I opened the book but all its pages were blank except for the last page on which someone put their initials 'X.Park' 'These initials why just why do they look so familiar?' I thought then it hit me these initials belonged to my brother, Xander Park. My blood went cold and my heart felt like it was empty.
