Coming out of the wormhole was a definite experience. At least I didn't get launched out of it though, like Sg1 tends to like to do for some reason though I'm sure those are special occasions or theatrics.
There wasn't anything nearby to the Stargate but I could see a path in the distance that I was pretty sure would lead me to what I'm assuming is Camelot. From what I can see around me this world looks beautiful, probably what I would call a garden world or something along that line. I was probably in for a small hike but I doubt it would take more than 20-30 minutes to find Camelot.
——————————————
I wasn't too far off on the time, I managed to find the little medieval village quickly, it was quite beautiful to behold but considering I like the medieval architecture my opinion probably isn't worth much. I simply hope it doesn't smell like what I assume a medieval city would, and that's like piss and shit though it didn't show that in the series.
With that in mind I steeled myself for the worst and walked through the gate, the ground was slightly muddy and it was obvious right away that I didn't fit in as people were looking at me strangely though they didn't show fear, simply curiosity I think.
Almost as soon as I walked through the gate I could see the sword stuck in the stone off to the right, it neat to behold honestly, the show didn't really do it much Justice.
Almost as soon as I was in front of the sword a small group of finely dressed individuals walked over to me, one of them I definitely recognized as the governor of the village though he looked ever so slightly younger than what I remember from the show, maybe 5 to 10 years though it's hard to tell with medieval types.
"Traveler! I am the governor of this village." He said in a slightly unsure but in a welcoming voice. "Welcome to Camelot!" I don't think they get visitors often.
"Thank you Governor, I am Alexander." I tell the older man. I don't really remember what would happen if I pulled the sword from the stone. I know in myth you became king but I don't remember that being specific to this village from the show. Either way I needed it so it didn't really matter.
"May I ask why you have decided to visit our little village Alexander?" He was curious I think as he didn't seem rude, either here or in the series, simply protective of his home.
"It's simple Governor Meurik, I intend to pull that sword from the stone of course." I honestly had no clue if I could even do it but I was hoping that it would work.
When I stated that the people surrounding me looked much more interested than before, I was hoping this wasn't some form of taboo.
"Very well Alexander, take your chance!" He said grandly, somewhat playing to the crowd I think, either way it would either probably be amusing to see me fail or exciting to see someone succeed.
All I could do was set my shoulders and rub my hands slightly nervous as I walk towards the sword in the stone. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw a young woman, probably in her mid to take teens as it was hard to tell in her outfit, I could almost feel her eyes shining in hope that something would happen. I'm fairly positive she is Valencia, it would make sense really if she came to watch as she always had a curious if not slightly mischievous personality from what I remember.
I breathed in deeply as I began to focus on my target, I could almost feel a connect to it of some sort but not quite. "Alright let's get this over with!" I speak to the crowd to some sight cheering.
As I put my hand on the sword, well I knew it was technically a device of some sort that just looked and acted as a sword but when I put my hands on it I could actually feel the sword judge me almost, I wasn't sure what it was judging, my personality, my deeds or my genetics but I guess it approved because I could feel it release as I began to pull on it, with one final tug it ripped free of the stone it was held within and I held it to the air for all to see.
I wanted to scream something like 'I have the powerrrr!' But I restrained myself as they wouldn't even get the reference.
"Well would you look at that." I said, quite amused by their looks of astonishment and awe. I wonder if they consider me King Arthur or something?
"My lord!" Meurik bowed quickly followed by the rest of the people as far as I could see.
"Rise my friends, we have much work to do in the coming days." I told them, hiding my look of glee that things were more or less working as I wished thus far.
"What will you have of your people, Lord Alexander, you need but command us!" Ohhh, they may be slightly fanatical but I don't remember them being such with Valencia but maybe because she was a girl and it didn't really show if she was made queen or whatever leader structure they chose so I have no clue what to expect on that front and am kinda just winging it.
"Given time we will go after the sangraal but before that we will destroy the curse Merlin left on his tower. The sword can destroy the black knight, or I can simply destroy the curse itself at the tower given time." They looked kinda shocked but I'm not sure at which part as I dropped several bombs on them quickly.
"Are you sure that is prudent my lord? The black knight is said to be powerful…" Meurik said hoping to change my mind but looking in his eyes I could see not but resignation. The people were cheering my proclamations fervently at this point and there was probably no stopping it.
"Please have the historian bring the key and have someone take me to the tower, I would suggest having everyone stay outside in the town square just incase the knight appears before I can either destroy the curse at its root or slay the beast with the sword. That way I can get to it quickly." I tell the crowd and many begin to disperse to inform others as Meurik sent someone to grab the historian.
I noticed the young woman had managed to get closer to everything, probably less than 10 feet from me now. "Valencia, take Lord Alexander to the tower and attend him until further notice." She just curtsied but looked both shy and excited as she began to lead the way to the tower. She couldn't seem to meet my eyes exactly but I remember from the show she was quite strong for a girl of this period. I would have to nurture that.
