Insights in a pool of thunder

The forest was lush with tall green trees and plants. This was a wild forest. Although he was not in the deepest parts of the forest, this place was still rich with flora. Even some medicinal plants and mushrooms were growing under bushes.

Wei Ren looked back. Just like earlier, there was a long black trail left behind. He could smell the burnt leaves.

He looked at his body and realised that a small sharp wooden shrapnel was sticking inside the right side of lower stomach. Blood was slowly leaking out. Luckily the shrapnel didn't come out or the blood would have gushed out much faster.

He hit some trees when charged through the forest. He crashed and broke a tree on the way. A sharp long shrapnel of that tree's rubble stabbed him. Including this wound there were several cuts and bruises on his body.

"I need to find a place to rest. Thunder Walk is really fascinating." He said while pressing his wound to stop the blood.

He walked around the forest to find a secluded place for recuperating. He would be able to heal this injury very faster if he uses his qi to fasten the healing process. Cultivators heal faster than mortals.

Half an hour later he found a pond in the middle of the forest. It was a dozen meters in diameter and not very deep. The water was crystal clear. He removed his clothes and slowly walked to the centre of the pond.

The water reached his waist. He sat down cross legged and submerged himself entirely and relaxed as the water cleaned his wound. He used his finger to inject a small qi into the water to swirl it around himself.

He pulled the shrapnel out. Blood started gushing out as if a dam had been broken. Although it looked small, the stab wound was very deep. He was lucky that the wooden shrapnel didn't pass through his body.

The entire pool was tinged with blood. It looked like a giant pool of blood. The water was still swirling around him. He waved his hand and retrieved a small pill bottle. It had a single pill inside. He grabbed the pill and popped it into his mouth.

"A simple Recuperating Pill should do the job." He thought.

As he expected, the wound slowly started to close up. Sharp pain flared throughout his body. It was like thousands of needles were stabbing him from the inside. Blood slowly stopped flowing out.

Cuts on his face and body healed very fast. Not even a scar was left behind.

He started cultivating and absorbed qi from the pond water. He didn't need to breathe air anymore. Mortals need to breathe to absorb qi, but cultivators can absorb qi directly into their bodies. Especially cultivators like Wei Ren, who can absorb qi using special ways like Devour Spell.

The colour of blood faded as he absorbed the qi from the pond. This pond was in the middle of the forest. It was a natural reserve of Elemental Qi. Everything is born with Elemental Qi. Plants, trees and water bodies are rife with natural Elemental Qi.

Ten hours later.

His wound completely healed. Even his Qi was fully replenished.

"Time to train." He said while getting up.

Rumble!

"Oh shit! Not right now."

He watched the whole process occur with a terrorized face. Thunderbolts rushed out of the ThunderWolf Blood Symbol and went berserk inside his body. After several continued awakenings of the Blood Symbol, he accidentally unleashed the thunderbolts without even trying. For some reason, it seemed to awaken on its own whenever he got up on his feet from a sitting posture. Although this did not happen every time, this was still a suspicious coincidence.

He knew what was going to happen. With such a hude amount of thunderbolts he would get launched very high into the air. This would be truly disastrous. A fall from such a height would likely break his bones. There was no one who would be there to help him if he got injured so badly.

He closed his eyes and waited for the the disaster to unfold.

Spark!

"Nothing happened?" He didn't fly into the air.

He opened his eyes. A terrifying scene was unfolding before him.

Countless tiny thunderbolts danced in the water of the pond. He was standing in an pool of thunder!

"Ha. The thunderbolts leaked out because I was standing in water." He figured out the reason in a second.

Water conducts lightning. All of the thunderbolts produced by the Blood Symbol were drawn out by the water. Only a few dozen were left on his chest. He only felt small shocks but nothing else.

He looked at the water as it slowly calmed. He gazed at the dying thunderbolts in deep thought. An insight appeared in his mind.

He closed his eyes and focused on his Blood Symbol.

He voluntarily awakened the Blood Symbol. It awakened after three minutes.

He closely observed the thunderbolts. As soon as they appeared most of them left his body immediately. When the count reached only a few dozen, he jumped out of the pond and rushed as soon as his feet landed on the ground.

Whoosh!

He moved like a flash of light. Although this speed was much slower than his usual attempts, at least he was able to control his movements. In just a second he ran around the pond and reappeared in his original place. After images were left in the places he stepped. they disappeared only after a few seconds

"It worked!"He started jumping and laughing like a maniac.

His insight proved to be very useful. When he awakened the Blood Symbol in the pond for the first time, he saw that a few thunderbolts lingered on his skin while the rest entered the pond water.

Every time he used the Thunder Walk Divine Art, he lost control. It was because there were too many thunderbolts released at once.

When the thunderbolts were less in number he was able to endure their destructive nature. Jumping out of the pond served his purpose.

"I know how to master this technique." He thought with a wide smile.

This pond became his lucky charm. A simple insight told him how to master a Divine Art like Thunder Walk.

He jumped into the pond and started his training. This special training is the only method that has helped him since he started training in the Thunder Walk Divine Art. Every time he tried to control his movements, he would fail miserably simply because there were too many thunderbolts released each time.

He repeated the whole process several more times and got the same results. He was able to maneuver himself with ease.

"I just need to control the Blood Symbol better, so that I can release as many thunderbolts as I want. If I can release only a few dozen each time, I will be satisfied." He pondered as he played around with the thunderbolts around him.

If someone were to see him like this, standing naked in a pool of thunder, they would mistake him for God of Thunder.

In ten days he became quite proficient in controlling his Blood Symbol. He was successful in awakening the Blood Symbol almost every time. Occasionally, there were failures but he didn't let them make him depressed.

On the twentieth day.

Sun was slowly setting. A warm hue covered the entire forest. Red rays of sunlight pierced through the dense canopy of the trees. Only the sound of crickets and insects could be heard. Leaves flowed with the wind and swirled as if they were going into sleep.

Rumble!

The serenity of this whole region was disturbed by a loud roar of thunder.

The roar was accompanied by several more.

The roars reverberated throughout the forest. With a flash he left the forest and found his original path. A desolate road appeared before him. Without any hesitation he charged onto the road and continued his journey.

Wei Ren mastered the first stage of Thunder Walk. ThunderWolf Blood Symbol finally became obedient. He was able to control the flow of thunderbolts. A dozen thunderbolts were released every second. Each time they entered his skin, he would drag them to the soles of his feet.

This speed was half of his speed before he mastered it. Initially he was producing an enormous amount of thunderbolts. Because of this, his speed was very fast but he wasn't able to control his movements.

Obviously he chose maneuverability over speed. This speed was also pretty fast. He was sure that no one at the fourth stage of Qi Streams would be able to catch him. Fifth stage Qi Streams can hunt him down but anybody with lower cultivation can only dream of even touching him.

Although it was not wise to say that he has mastered the ThunderWolf stage because he can only use less than half of the true power of the Blood Symbol, one can say that he has a good grasp over the Blood Symbol.

"When my cultivation base rises, I will be able to use more power of the Blood Symbol and my speed will increase explosively." He thought with a satisfied smile.

Walking would have taken him thirty days to reach the border. Using a horse would have taken five. But right now he was twice as fast as a horse.

He had about seven days left to reach the border. He was sure that he would reach his destination in time.

A long black trail was left on the desolate road. People of the villages and tribes that lived along the desolate road will be shocked when they see this trail.

When he was a few kilometres away from the border, he saw several soldiers in black leather armour and some tribal people who lived here. These tribes and villages are the only form of civilizations so close to the border. Soldiers would visit these villages for the brothels and wine houses. Wei Ren himself had come to these villages on several occasions.

He remembered his own experience at one of the brothels with a poor smile.

As he passed the small group of soldiers, he saw that these soldiers were on their break. They carried no weapons and had wine cups in their hands.

He stopped using the Thunder Walk and came to a sudden halt.

The soldiers were also surprised by the roars of thunder. They all turned to look at the young man who was the cause of this loud noise.
