Hymn of the Sovereign Clouds

Attribute affinity is everything in the world of cultivation. Magical Spells, Divine Arts, Magic formations, etc, all can be used only if one has certain attributes.

Even mortals are influenced by their attributes.

Although the origin of the attribute affinity is still a mystery, some conclude that attributes are a gift to mankind from the Heavens.

In the Primordial Era, only powerful Demonic Beast clans ruled. Humans were nothing more than ants compared to those legendary creatures.

A drastic change appeared in the status of humans when they found traces of attributes in their own bodies.

Demonic Beasts also have attributes. But because of their powerful bodies, they can draw out the power of their attributes without the use of Elemental Qi. Humans on the other hand have very weak bodies.

They have to cultivate in order to bring out their full potential. As they advance in cultivation, the power of their attributes also increases. As humans became stronger, the rule of the Demonic beasts came to an end. In today's world, the human race stands at the stop. It can rival against the most powerful Demonic Beasts.

Wei Ren's mother gave him the famous Arcane Climate Art. It was a perfect combination of defensive and offensive Magical Spells.

There were six spells in total. Right now he can learn only the first spell.

"Hymn of the Sovereign Clouds." Wei Ren muttered the name of the first spell. His mother didn't give him the entire technique. At his current level, just mastering this first spell would be more than enough.

"What a serene name?" His right hand held the jade slip which recorded the first spell of Arcane Climate Art. A deep sense of reverence pervaded his heart as he read the magical inscriptions.

"Call the power of sovereigns and become a celestial cloud." The instructions of the first spell were very vague and obscure. It was almost like he was reading poetry.

Feng Yu cautioned him about this Magical Art's difficulty. But she didn't tell him that the Magical Art would be this profound.

Even learning the incantations will be useless if he can't understand the spell.

He encountered a similar obstacle when he was training to master the Thunder Walk Divine Art. He was able to make the ThunderWolf Blood Symbol quite easily but awakening the Blood Symbol took a lot of hard work.

In this case, he has to unleash the power of his attributes. His Qi, his bones and his muscles, everything is imbued with his cloud and thunder attributes.

By using the incantations of the Arcane Climate Art, he will be able to manifest his attributes in physical form.

His Elemental Qi will be able transform into actual thunder and clouds.

After two hours, he finished reading the jade slip. He read the contents twice to commit everything to his memory.

Only thing left to do was to attempt casting the first Spell.

"Hymn of the Sovereign Clouds…" His voice echoed in the trunk of the tree in which he was hiding.

A mysterious change started to happen inside his body. His qi flow became slower as he chanted the spell.

His hands formed multiple incantations.

He started at a very slow pace, but soon his hands were dancing like two vipers. All of his forty-one meridians were working at their full capacity. They churned like small hurricanes inside his body. The Elemental Qi inside his body suddenly started to deplete at an astonishing rate.

A small smile appeared on his face. His Qi was depleting, this meant he was about to succeed. Casting magical spells uses up a lot of Qi.

The air around him suddenly became dense, a suffocating fog formed around his body. He watched as his Qi turned into a white fog.

"Cloud Formation! It's working!" He was dumbfounded to see that the spell worked on his first try.

But as soon as he let his guard down.

Boom!

The fog exploded and turned into a huge amount of water.

The tree was torn from the inside. Wei Ren was coffined inside the exploding fog. His chest was almost crushed as the fog turned into water. The cloud collapsed as it formed and turned into liquid because of the pressure. Just one simple mistake and he almost killed himself.

Training inside a tree trunk was a stupid decision.

He scratched his head wryly and looked at the remnants of the old oak tree.

"The red Qi is already causing problems." He thought while drying himself up.

He knew the reason his spell failed. The red Qi flared up when he was casting the spell. He lost the control over his Qi at the critical juncture.

He regretted over using the Devour Spell. But there was no medicine for regret. There was only one way to overcome this problem.

"Maybe Master can help me with this problem. He is a Tier Four Healer, he must have some solution for taming this red Qi."

He spent the rest of the two days trying to cast the [Hymn of the Sovereign Clouds]. Same thing happened every time he was about to succeed.

His mission was going to start today. He reached the Blue Rose Military Base before sunrise.

Moon was still high in the sky. A dark early morning awaited his arrival at the base.

General Wei Tian's Tent.

Wei Ren was supposed to report here. He saluted the two General's Guards standing at the entrance.

They both saluted back with respect.

A strange excitement was running in his blood. He was going on his first mission. He barged into the tent. He expected to see Wei Tian's sullied face but the latter was not even present.

"Junior Brother Wei Chen! What are you doing here?" He asked the young boy standing in front of him with a shy smile.
