Emberline did not want to wake up that day. She wanted an alternative to herself. She wanted to never realise the misery of her life again. But she now sat on her bed, her eyes lay half open, her hair curtained her eyes from the light outside the window and yet she still felt as though she was in a dream. The silence of the room made her frustrated, gentle reminders to violent thoughts, her mind raced. With each threatening notion, she hit her head.

She had developed that mechanism to remove thoughts that threatened to harm her. Her greatest curse was that she had the courage to live.
