Uncle Zheng had a large smile on his face as spoke to Ta Sen, leading the way to a large table located in one of the main halls.
"Haha, servants, bring us the Six-Phase Wine! We have an important guest! Senior Ta Sen, please, take a seat. We have much to discuss."
As soon as the three figures sat down at the table to begin talking, a certain guard pushed open the door to the hall with a grave expression on his face.
Seeing how the guard was acting, an ominous feeling immediately crept up on Uncle Guan and Uncle Zheng.
"Yuchi Huo, what happened?"
Yuchi Huo bowed and responded, "Uncle Zheng, Uncle Guan, one of our businesses is being attacked! The situation is grave!"
The two old men immediately sprung from their seats and arrived in front of Yuchi Huo, gripping his shoulders tightly.
"Which one, Yuchi?"
"The restaurant, sir!"
Uncle Zheng's heart sank when he heard this. The restaurant was one of their most lucrative businesses! If they lost this, the Su family would be in dire straits.
"Alright, get Captain Liu and the rest of the guards! We're going to the restaurant right away!"
After passing those orders, Uncle Zheng turned around, took a deep breath, and said, "Senior Ta Sen, please forgive our rude behavior. We have a small issue to take care of so I hope that you can entertain yourself for the time being. We will be back shortly!"
Although Uncle Zheng always looked like he had one foot in the grave, at this moment, he suddenly seemed to gain a massive burst of energy. A baleful aura escaped Uncle Guan's body with every move as he exited the clan and rushed towards the restaurant first.
Now that he was by himself, Ta Sen took a deep breath as he started processing everything that happened so far. To him, it still felt like a dream.
It was like the most extreme form of culture shock that one could experience. From a mobster on earth to being stuck in the void after death for over 10000 years then being randomly selected to be sent to this world for some god's enjoyment.
'This wasn't where I would imagine my life going. I wanted a family of my own and maybe work a nice job as a mechanic or something. As long as it was legal, I would be fine. Sigh, it seems that it was just wishful thinking. A murderer like myself couldn't bring a family into the world without putting them in constant danger. It would just be foolish.'
CLANG!
The door flew open as a tall beautiful young servant girl walked in the room carrying a golden tray with a large jar of wine and a familiar-looking gourd on top of it. Ta Sen was a bit annoyed that his thoughts were interrupted but when he locked eyes on the tray, a self-deprecating smile appeared on his face.
'It seems that I've been thinking about so much that I forgot that I misplaced one of my own weapons.'
Of course, the weapon in question was the gourd. It was one of the three weapons of the monkey king that he got as a bonus for choosing Jin Mori's abilities. He speculated that he would get more, like the blade of tathagata, but he wasn't sure.
What he was sure of though was that he wasn't strong enough to use even 1/3rd of his abilities. Only by becoming stronger could he slowly unlock more.
The young maid walked up to Ta Sen and bowed before laying the tray on the table, saying, "Master Ta Sen, Uncle Zheng said you should have this wine and he's returning this gourd to you. He said you were clasping it tightly when you arrived so it must be important to you. P-please, enjoy your drink."
The young girl's cheeks became a bit red at the end of her sentence as she bowed once again and left briskly. Ta Sen chuckled a bit at the girl's actions and picked up his gourd, inspecting it carefully.
No matter how one looked at it, the gourd looked extraordinarily simple, with only a few stamps and spikes on it. It looked no different from your everyday gourd. But Ta Sen knew exactly what this object was capable of. Unfortunately, he didn't have anything to test it out on.
'Well, I can always do that later. Time to drink some wine!'
Ta Sen strapped the gourd to his waist and picked up the large jar, looking at it with a wide grin on his face.
'It's like I'm holding nothing...well, it's just a jar of wine, no use using it as a measure of wine.'
Ta Sen tipped the jar into his mouth and downed the wine as if he were a bottomless pit. Usually, 3 people would take about an hour to finish a jar of that size but Ta Sen finished it in less than 3 seconds.
It was done before he even realized it!
"That's...that's it...? I don't even feel drunk..."
Ta Sen sighed with a frown as he sat back in his chair, thinking about what he should do next to pass the time.
'It's already late at night. Maybe I should've followed those two old men to the restaurant. I could've had an accurate test of my strength then. Hm, then I guess I'll just train. Old Zheng mentioned that there was an arena around here somewhere.'
Ta Sen got up and left the room to look for the arena. That was a place where he could train to his heart's content and then some, especially since it was nighttime. He asked a servant where it was and steadily headed there, finding the place several breaths later.
The arena of the Su Family was a massive square with a large stage made of reinforced stone centered in the middle. Around the stage were four torches that gave the place a comfortable, ambient feeling.
When Ta Sen arrived in the middle of it, he couldn't help but smile.
'This will do nicely. Now, the first things I should train will be renewal taekwondo and full contact karate. Those two together will raise my offense greatly. In my past life, I was nothing more than a brawling mobster but now, I can change that. This time, I will not die before I am ready.'
Ta Sen took off his shoes and stood still with his eyes closed, focusing on a spot between his brows. There was something urging to spring forth there since he gained consciousness and now it was time to let it out.
He had held it back enough.
WHOOSH!
A third eye opened on his forehead as a red light shot into the night sky, lighting up the arena for a breath of time. As soon as the eye opened, Ta Sen felt his mind becoming many times clearer, like he had the strings and fabric of the universe at his command.
This was the wisdom of the sage, or as some may call it, the Sage's Eye.
"Now, with this, my training will be much easier."
Ta Sen kept standing still in the middle of the arena, analyzing the martial arts in his mind. Every time he felt as if he had grasped the essence of a move, he moved his body, repeating the move until it was completely mastered.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
The sounds of the air splitting rang through the night as Ta Sen continually practiced Renewal Taekwondo and Full Contact Karate. Sleep was an afterthought. In his mind, there were only the arts.
Every cell of his body was devoted to practice. This was a state of mind that only could be achieved through centuries of practice or a catalyst to push the mind to such a state.
This was only one use of the Sage's Eye.
Time flew by and the morning quickly arrived. Yet, Ta Sen was there practicing the arts as if it was a dance. His state of mind was not broken even once throughout the night.
Not even when the wails and cries of the servants and guards rang through the mansion, causing a wave of despair to wash through the entire Su Family.
"It's a tragedy! Uncle Guan is dead!"
