7 days of winter solstice: day 6: the mermaid lagoon

"Our last stop is Ompodelf, I'm quite excited to see how it's like, Ecaura told us nothing about it

-we need to make it quick, tomorrow is the day of the solstice, destiny is upon us, we only have one day to learn about Ompodelf, then we need to head to the second middle of the portagons

-second middle?

-the AZ is a spherical planet, so there are two middles of the south and north portagons, one easter and one western, the first fight happens at the western, the second at the eastern. The middles coincide with the place where all four quarters meet.

-who told you this?

-when you and Ecaura were talking, she was preparing me for the fight

-she was talking to you in secret? Simultaneously?

-yes.

-how sly of her."

Ompodelf looked like heaven; a beautiful waterfall and a river of golden coloured water going through fields of flowers so unique and pretty, their bases were transparent and each flower had a unique colour pattern that no other flower had. The purple trees and the purple emittees were everywhere. Grass filled the place, and it looked so lively and riveting. Land was little, though, most of the place was water, and the transition from the golden water of the river to the regular water of the ocean was so seamless, the water had a few rocks and mini islands scattered across it, where mermaids were observed.

"Mermaids? This is interesting

-these are the Ompodelf mermaids, otherwise known as Teras, and this is called the mermaid lagoon, this is their home. Talk to them, Alan, but whatever you do, do not lock eye contact with them for over five seconds.

-or what? What can they do that I can't reverse or resist?

-do not get ahead of yourself, Alan, they are very specialised in their art.

-fine, but I recon I could take them on if they ever try to do something to me.

-if that happens, we'll find out then. Don't deliberately cause it, though."

Alan went up to the mermaids, with his head bowed down.

"Hi

-oh, hello there, the mermaid said with a voice of an enchantress, a voice so enticing it made not looking at her face even harder

-oh wow, you sound..pretty.

-well thank you! What brings you to the mermaid lagoon?

-I came here wanting to learn about your kind, your magic, your purpose, your curse, everything.

-we are the Teras, the directors of AZ, we keep the planet's electromagnetic field up, and we are the reason day and night happen, we are direct descendants of the cosmic binders, us and the cosmic striders, though they have decided to dedicate their lives to establishing peace and quiet upon the people of AZ, we kept our grandmothers' job as the directors of the planet itself. We cast spells upon the river of golden water, the golden water has roots that are embedded in the core of the planet, and by directing it, we direct AZ. We are essential to the continuity of all of the beings here, and without us, the planet would render dead.

-that..is quite impressive, do you cast spells like the Tribakwiyans?

-well yes, they actually taught us a lot, and every time they visit they help with everything they could. Our spells aren't rhythmic like theirs.

-then how are they?

-I'll show you an example."

Suddenly, the water started getting agitated, the rocks shaking, the trees shivering

"I ask the seas and the earth to create a new ground and bastille it, demand of the Larynx."

From the water Alan was on emerged a rock that got him up.

"You see, our spells have special formulas, you first need to specify the energy source you're talking to, in this case I was talking to the sea and the earth element, and at the end of your demand, you need to specify of whom it is, of your body or your spirit. Demands that concern the whole planet are from the spirit, and our spells then end with "demand of the cosmos", any other spell is a demand of the body, and the spells end with "demand of the Larynx"

-and what if you don't follow the formula?

-if you don't follow the first bit nothing happens, your spell just won't work and you can try again. If you don't follow the last bit, the divinity will take it as a sign of disrespect, and hex you down to hell and back, it will make you regret ever not saying it.

-can I try it?

-sure

-I'll be putting my own twist to the middle, though.

I ask the death and the gloomy to end the life of that flower, strip it from all of its life and power, then make its ashes perish, after an hour, demand of the Larynx."

And indeed, the flower Alan pointed at frowned and died.

"Wow, that was a morbid spell

-no, it wasn't. We all die one day, you need to learn to accept death and see it as neither bad or good, but rather an absolute."

Alan made the big mistake of looking up at her, suddenly, her sweet angelic face started twisting and deforming, it's then when he realised what's happening, so he tried locking her in place in hopes of performing TEIR but failed

"I helped create the magic of the striders, if you think that itwould work on me, you've got another thing coming."

Instead, Alan got locked in place, he froze, the Tera put her hand on his stomach and gone through it, then she snatched Velta. Her eyes turned black as she kept looking at Velta. The light of the spirit made her eyes gleam, then she said "do you want to know how it feels like to be locked up? Do you?"

The Tera then grabbed a jar, and started condensing Velta to try and put her inside, through her struggle Velta mumbled "Alan, do something

-what can I do, I've never seen anything like this before

-voidshifting, connect with the void element, save me, save yourself"

Alan focused all of his energy on trying to remember the words of Ala. He then felt himself locking to Velta, he pulled her out of the jar and started pulling her back towards himself

Alan knocked the Tera back with a field of energy he generated from his forehead. He was able to reunite with Velta. He floated in the air and one of his Guenara rocks started glowing. He locked her body in place, then started moving it around like a contortionist, until she got worn out and became in big agony and pain.

"How dare you, touch Velta" his eyes glowed and a wind storm began in the area. She got caught in the tornado and her limbs dislocated from one another, each one got thrown in a different direction.

"If any of you dare challenge I again, this will be your fate, lacerated, done."
