Chapter(Hundred) Seventy: To kill

The room, grand and massive, illuminated by a golden chandelier that hung just above their heads, giving the place a golden glow. Windows flanked with curtains. Leo stood silent, his eyes darting from his grandmother to Becca. The two women adored each other, their love unique unlike any he had ever seen but he understood that Becca, in this present situation, was watching the boundaries she had with Fernanda. This was Fernanda's house and Becca didn't want to sound ungrateful and disrespectful by declining this after being generously invited here by Fernanda herself who was hospitable enough to offer out one of the finest rooms. But at the same time, Leo knew that Becca wasn't over their argument. Behind the lingering emotions, when he stared deep into her eyes, he saw the anger, the pain still so unhealed. Still fresh. 

Her eyes had become hooded and her tone held no joy nor anger. It was desolate of everything, anything resembling emotions.
