Chapter (Two Hundred) Fifty One: Coward

Johnny woke to the sound of loud meowing and tiny scratches coming from the other end of the closed bedroom door. Navaya's bedroom door. He was still sprawled out on her ridiculous pink sofa. Navaya had managed to fall asleep sometime within the night but he didn't find rest until the lull of the early hours of the morning.

He groaned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. He looked at the bed where Navaya still quietly slept. After everything that happened in the last twenty four hours, she deserved the rest.

The meowing persisted. At first, Johnny assumed the noise was a mere product of his half conscious state but the longer he listened, the more it sounded real, and it was behind the door. His brows were furrowed as he stood from the sofa and moved towards the noise. He was shocked it hadn't woken Navaya up yet.
