"Mother I am home " she said as she dropped the bags of vegetables and fruits on the table.

"Hello darling how was your day "her mother asked trying to sit up on the bed .

"aaaah"

"Mother please lay back don't strain yourself ... I brought your medicine " she went ahead to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

"Here mother" she said helping her take her medicine .

"Mother let me prepare some food for you I know you're hungry"

"Thankyou darling."

Amber went in to the kitchen as tears rolled down her eyes .

She started reminiscing how their lives have become miserable ever since her father died and two weeks later her mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

she has seen her mother's condition deteriorate over the years and it's only getting really bad by the day .

They sold everything they owned to pay for her mother's therapy sessions and now, they live from hand to mouth and she has no idea what to do as she ran out of money for her mothers treatment ... now she only buys pain killers for her and other diagnosed drugs .

Amber was heading home overly joyed after her final highschool results came out and she had a straight A but what she saw when she got home was a crowd of people some crying others talking others taking picture

"What's going on " asking no one in particular only then did she see what remained of their house ..ashes .

She stood there unmoving as all the possibilities ran through her mind . She did not even want to believe or think that her mother or father we're victims of the fire.

" Amber Amber darling " she heard her aunts voice.

" Aunty what happened " She held on to her aunt with trembling hands . "He...he...he's gone "she said while crying hard " " Aunty who ..who's gone " she never got her answer since her aunt brookin fainted on the spot and was carried to the ambulance .

"Amber .... your house burned down yesterday .... the police are suspecting it's a gas leakage your parents were in there your mother was taken to the hospital but unfortunately your..your....father couldn't make it " a paramedic explained " noooooo no no your lying where's my father I want to see my father aaaaaaah."
