The encounter
Immediately Amber left the office Leon got a call. He looked at the caller Id and decided to ignore it .. but his phone rang again and he picked it up seemingly annoyed.
"Hello" he said in a nonchalant tone.
" Leon did you just ignore my call...anyway have you thought about what I asked for ... if you want us to get back together then you better make it happen Leon ... ok hello ..are you listening leon."
"Matilda I'm at work right now and you are distracting me as for the mansion I bought you two already I don't think you need another one ."
"Well then prepare yourself to be a single soul for a long time... I won't get back together with you Leon until you buy it for me it's just sixty million dollars I know you have the money Leon if you love me make it happen."
'beep beep' she hang up the phone immediately she was done talking.
Leon sat there wondering what to do.
He has been in a relationship with Matilda since after his highschool days and had had a crush on her since he was twelve. He believed he really loved her but lately she was beginning to get on his nerves . He rose up from his seat took his jacket and walked out of his office .
He needed a drink also time to think about his situation with his girlfriend.

Amber was busy cleaning some utensils when she got a call from an unknown number.
"Hello " she said.
"Hello am I speaking to miss Amber Armstrong?"
" Yes you are who's this and how may I help you. "
"This is the central hospital and your mother has been rushed here, she's still undergoing check up so we really can't inform you what is wrong but we wished to let you know she's here."
"Thankyou I'm on my way" her voice broke at the end as tears started to roll down her cheeks .
This was exactly what she was worried about .She knew without the surgery this was bound to happen but she didn't think it would be this soon.
She headed for the elevator as fast as she could even though her her legs were trembling.
She noticed one more person in the elevator but she could not clearly see who it was since her eyes were clouded with tears.
She tried her best to stay composed and not break down infront of the person next to her but she could not stop her tears.
"Are you ok "Leon asked in a low voice which he noticed she probably did not hear since she didn't respond.
He recognised her as the new employee that served him coffee in his office.
He thought that the reason she was crying was due to someone who bullied her since she's new and could not not take that in his company.
"Miss " he said and held her shoulder which made her look at him and at the same time blink to have her tears drop.
"Boss ... oh sorry I didn't realise it was you "
"I asked if you are ok " she looked down as if contemplating something.
"May I ask you something sir" he notices she was having a hard time speaking and he gave her a small nod.
"Can I get my pay early please I promise to work even harder "
"I'll need to know why"
"I just received a call from the hospital about my mother and I'm down on cash "
He remained quiet till the elevator got to the ground floor and he turned to look at her.
"Follow me."
