Maybell had just got out of class only to see several missed calls from Matilda

' Geez I better call her back quick '

" hey Matilda how are you... I've not heard from you since the party I've tried calling you but....."

" shut up [ she cut maybell short] what!.... you want me to be all friendly with you after you embarrassed me like that "

Maybell could feel her anger and she was a bit glad they were talking on call and not face to face

" I just thought I would surprise you Matilda "

"If I didn't invite you it's because I didn't want you there now my friends think I'm lowering my standards by hanging out with poor people aaaah! I'll talk to you when I need you don't look for me or call me " [ she hung up immediately she was done ]

Maybell felt like those words were daggers stabbing her heart countless times . She wished Matilda knew how badly her words hurt but all in all she cannot cut of ties with Matilda since she has helped her a few times financially and with her family situation she was sure she would need help at any time. Honestly she has never understood her relationship with Matilda she makes it clear she doesn't hang out with poor people but she still keeps her around .

Maybell was in her last year of school and she could not wait to start working and earning and save her mother and herself of all the shame

back home she knew her mother was not well and she was lonely since everyone isolated themselves from her when she started prostitution eight years ago to give her the best education . She felt responsible for everything since her mother was doing this all for her and she felt it was her responsibility to pay her back.

She got up the bench she was sitting on ready to head to the cafeteria when she got another call from an unknown number

"hello who am I speaking to please "

" Do you get help then forget those who helped you so easily May" Maybell was very sure she could recognise that voice anywhere

" Hello Sean where did you get my number from " she was honestly excited to hear from him .She thought he was a really fun person to be around

" That doesn't matter ..... so you won't even ask how I'm doing geez I'm hurt " she laughed at his statement

" ok how are you Sean "

" I'm not ok I thought we were friends " he feigned a sad voice

" yes we are .... I just didn't have your number so there is no way I could have contacted you"

" well you have it now ... make sure you save me as bestie immediately I hung up "

" Wait what when did we become best friends "

" cause we almost had sex that's why " he chuckled which made her laugh

" so when can I see my new bestie"

"uhmm if you don't mind you can come to my place for a movie day .... or your place cause your screen is bigger "

" May ....." he had a serious tone

" Yeah "

" how many times do I have to tell not to look down on yourself it doesn't matter if your place is small or your screen is small the important thing is we get together and have fun okay "

" Yeah thanks for that it means alot " she said sincerely

" ok I'll see you tommorow at your place"

" Yeah but later in the evening because I have school "

" ok I'll pick up from school tommorow how about that"

"ok but don't drive a fancy car ok I don't want attention or any rumours "

" ok then sure I'll drive a normal car then"

' Did he just call me beautiful ' she said to herself with flushed cheeks
