Chapter 75

After the crew left the holiday gathering, Sam looked up at Nick. "Nick, this was nice. I loved spending time with your friends. They're a great group of people. Thank you." She reached up rubbing his beard with a soft smile.

"Sam, I still haven't got an answer. Do you want to be with me? I really want this, and now that Brad is out of the picture, we can at least try." 

"The last time I was with someone, things changed fast." 

Nick leaned his head back on the chair looking up to the ceiling with a frustrated sigh. "I'm not him Sam. Please don't punish me for what he did."

"That's not what I meant."
