  "Do you miss your ex-husband?" Brody asked.

"Not really. I miss that life sometimes. My ex helped me to get in the right circles to do the charity stuff, and a job on local TV. I will never forget him for helping me get my start. We are still friends and he even checks on Tim from time to time."

"Oh, so you're close," Brody noted, not liking that idea. He wanted her for himself, but needed to get the jealousy in check. 

"Heck no. He coaches the basketball team and is the one who helped Tim with the bully situation. I can't stand that he still acts like a teenager himself."

"You could still be a reporter if that was the life you wanted." 

"I wish. I guess now I'll just live vicariously through you." Violet let out a breath. "That woman is long gone now."
