Meal ticket

"What brings you here, kid"

The cyclops asked me...

When I showed the card to the people at the gate ,they immediately guided me to this room...

Its large, larger than the house I lived in...

its wall is made of glass and metal, I couldn't see any wood...

The chair I was sitting in, is so soft, and the floor is so smooth, i was envious that the cyclops get to live at this place

"I want to ask something" I said,

he stared at me for a couple of minute before answering

"What do you want to know?" he's word didn't sound sincere but I replied

"You said wite died, how did he die?"

"...I don't think I should be saying this to a kid but, he died cause he's too good at his job"

"Its not a bad thing but, if he didn't charge at that time he should still be alive"

"...?, answer it with the word I can understand!" I said to him

all i understand to what he said is, wite died cause he charge at something,

"He died cause he got shot by someone" the cyclops said

"why did he got shot?"

"because he moved his body on where the bullet was heading"

"he wouldn't do that?"

"How would you know!" the cyclops yelled at me

"Well that's because we lived at the same house!" I yelled back

"You didn't even know what his work is!"

"That's because he's trying to protect me!"

"huff,huff,huff"

I inhale a lot of air after shouting, so did the cyclops...

I could hear the sound of our breathing...

"Are you two done playing yet?" after hearing the voice the cyclops immediately looked at the door

"What are you doing here?" he asked

which the man behind the door responded

"I'm here to eat, what about you, is that your son, he have two eyes?, did your wife cheated on you?"

"Don't talk bad about my wife!, and this kid is not my son, he's someone my partner wanted to see"

"You don't have a wife idiot"

"...."

"What a monster got your tongue?" the guy said when the cyclops remain silence

"just get your food and go!" the cyclops yelled furiously...

"okay, okay, I'll go"

After they're done talking the cyclops looked at me and said

"I'm tired talking to you so maybe its better if you ask my partner instead" he said to me

"Where could I see him?" I asked...

The cyclops scratched the back of his head before pointing at the guy he talked with earlier...

"You see that man, ask him to guide you, if he refuse say that I'll be his meal ticket"

The guy was grabbing a lot of food that was stored at the small metallic box

"Hey, hello.....Excuse me!" I shouted

hearing me, the man dropped a couple of the colorful plastic wrapper to the ground

"Oh it's you kid, what do you want?"

I try to find the cyclops by looking around but he's already gone

"The cyclops earlier said that you'll guide me to his partner"

The guy responded with his mouth full of crispy crackers...

"No way, I'm busy kid ask someone else"

He refused what now, oh right the cyclops said something about the a meal ticket

"He said he'll be your meal ticket if you guide me to his partner"

"how many days?"

"I don't know?" I answered truthfully

His attitude turn upside down, he quickly stood up and rush to the door

"What are you waiting for, I'll guide you"

Hes fast he was at the side of this box a second ago...

He opened the door and what I saw is a huge hall with pipes all around it...

A lot of people wearing an identical cloth of a white coat was forming a line walking in synch

"I guess another project was being made" the guy near me murmured...he looked at me and said

"Well let's go kid"

"y-yes"

While he was guiding me to the cyclops partner...whoever it is

He grabbed a plastic wrapper that was hidden at the back of his pants...

He opened the wrappers and handed me a yellowish thin cracker

"Here kid"

I grabbed it and quickly put it on my mouth...

"Its delicious" I whispered which the guy near me responded

"Right!, its called potato chip"

"Potato chip"

We stopped when we arrived at a certain door, the man hid the wrapper to his back and knocked on the door

"A kid wanted to see you!"

The man peeked at the small hole at the center of the door...

"....leave me alone with the kid" he's voice is so deep...

"Bye kid" the man said to me

I waved back to the person who guided me...

The door at my side slowly opened and a deep voice accompanied it

"Let's talk inside child"

He's voice is already scary, just imagine how his face would look is making me want to back out...

I take a deep breathe and head inside...

It's dark for a couple of seconds...

I couldn't see anything but when I wipe what seems to be a thin cloth, a flash of light hit my eyes...

I wiped my eyes and saw with a blurry vision...

A guy sitting on the floor...

"sit down"

He said which I obeyed...

My vision came back...

The man has a long black hair, his face was smooth and his right eye was covered by a black patch....

"Don't stare so hard kid" he said

"s-sorry,"

"Drink this first"

"....." I didn't say anything and grabbed the small cup at the table beside me...

I drink the whole thing...and when it reach me throat did I taste it flavor...

'It taste funny'

He take a sip of the hot water and asked

"So kid, what do you want to know?"

"I want to know how wite died"

"Wite?"

He stared at me for a minute before giving his answer

"Information about wite can't be known by just anyone, only guardian have access to it"
