Immortal Thanksgiving Part 2

The Thanksgiving banquet was well underway. Jason was ecstatic that his 'vegetarian tofu turkey' was quite popular and was relieved that Elmmmy was satisfied with the meal. He was about to commence the second part of the banquet, as an added surprise for Elmmmy, when he felt a disturbance in the illusion array that he set up around the premise.

Elmmmy felt the sudden change in Jason's aura but before she could ask what was wrong, Jason was already gone. Worried for his safety, Elmmmy gave an excuse to their friends and immediately followed Jason.

Jason sneered when he saw the group struggling within the illusion array. He recognized them. Jason met the group while he was gathering the rare herbs and spices he needed to prepare the meal and wine. When they found out about the Heavenly Soy in his possession, the group of greedy fools wanted to steal it from him.

But who was Jason? Is he the type of person that could be easily taken advantage of? After playing a few tricks on the bunch of ignorant fools within the forbidden forest, Jason decided to let them go and continued on his way. Who knew these people would keep seeking trouble and follow him here?

Noticing his dark expression, Elmmmy asked, "Do you know them?"

Jason shook his head but Elmmmy could guess why these people were here. She patiently looked at Jason waiting for what he would do next.

A few breaths passed but Jason did not make a move. He was content to watch the people suffer within the illusions as they are pulled deeper into the array.

Jason's arrays are not easily broken. Once entangled, it would be layer upon layer of illusions that one needed to solve. And the deeper the entanglement, the harder it is to get out.

From what Elmmmy could see, this group of cultivators is very weak. Unless Jason stops the array himself, the group would be stuck there until they run out of energy and eventually pass out.

Elmmmy sighed and rubbed her temple. There was no deep malice in any of the cultivators trapped within the array. They're probably simple people who were driven to play bandit by desperation.

"Give each a bottle of sachi wine and hand over the remainder of the Heavenly Soy in your possession."

Jason wanted to say something but Elmmmy only glared at him. He had no choice but to cough out the things she asked for. Jason then stomped hard on the ground, to break the illusion array.

The cultivators fell hard on the ground, face pale and panting for breath. They've never experienced such a frightening array before. They immediately regret their decision to rob the mysterious man and follow him back to his home.

Elmmmy did not waste time and threw the sack towards the man who seemed to be the leader of the group. "Take that and go!" She ordered. "Do not come looking for him again, otherwise…" Elmmmy released a terrifying aura that suffocated the cultivators.

The group did not need to be told twice. They scrambled to their feet and fled without looking back.

As the two watched their retreating backs disappear from view Elmmmy said, "It is always better to be lenient when you can. None of them was inherently evil, not to mention they might have family and friends waiting back home."

Jason kept quiet, his expression remained neutral.

"Besides, knowing you..." Elmmmy continued. "You'd probably look for them later and secretly give them those things. I just made sure they would never bother you again."

Jason lightly scratched the tip of his nose but still kept quiet and did not disagree with her. In his heart, Jason felt thankful to have a friend who understood him like Elmmmy does.

The end… or is it?
