Chapter Twelve

Diamante woke up with a strong sense of determination. She knew that today would be busy, and the fair maiden would need to go over the remaining recruits. After Marcus' betrayal, Diamante would have to 'cleanse' the very idea of anyone else trying and doing the same.

Even though Diamante is not an ethical person, she is fair. So she will make sure that they all have a chance to redeem themselves instead of violently killing them all.

That would be absolutely distasteful.

Diamante gets up and enters the washroom. After relieving herself using the water closet, she sheds her clothes off and soaks herself in the big wooden basin. With a knock on her door, Diamante allows the maid to come inside and clean her off.

Rubis and Saphir are going to spend their breakfast here. After that, they will leave for work. Diamante doesn't know why, but the idea of Rubis leaving makes her sad.

Diamante enjoys his company. Even though he doesn't say much, his presence alone makes her feel at ease.

Aheli's maid hands Diamante a fluffy cloth to dry her up. She takes it with thanks and walks out of the washroom. Now that she is clean, more maids come in and help Diamante put on her: corset, petticoat, stockings, and a new ruby red round dress.

All five of them leave her room and go down to the dining place. Diamante bids them farewell before sitting down in the main chair. She, as usual, is the very first person to sit. As she sees more of the leaders come in, she can't help but internally chuckle at what she sees.

Onice walks in, and Saphir is close behind him. What makes her laugh is how her cousin's face is etching a scowl.

The main cook stands behind Diamante as the apprentices place the dish in front of them.

"Today, for breakfast, we have crepes with fresh raspberries. We also have a bowl of strawberries, blackberries, and pineapple. Enjoy your food," Diamante digs into her crepes and savours the multitudes of flavors that explode inside her mouth. Diamante glances to her left and smiles when she sees Rubis eating with such manners.

Usually, Diamante and Onice are the only ones that eat with proper knowledge of manners. Because their mothers are from rich backgrounds, it's a given that they will be taught such things.

However, Rubis and Saphir eat as though their whole lives have been full of aristocratic constitutions. It does make sense, though; Diamante doesn't know of their past, so maybe they are from rich backgrounds.

Diamante is the first to finish. She excuses herself before getting up and walking inside her office. Once she enters, she open's Mustafa's file and goes through all of the workers, including Jeffrey.

In total, thirteen people will be under investigation; four of them are women. Diamante highly doubts that the women did anything, but she cannot be sure.

Onice will help her by staring into their eyes and exposing every little detail. If Diamante deems them as untrustworthy, then she will have to exterminate them.

As she goes over the different recruits, somebody knocks on her door. Assuming that it is Onice, she allows them to come in.

But instead, it is Rubis.

She lifts her head and smiles at the surprise. Rubis, the fire twin, is inside her office. She notices the way he looks around and can't help but feel proud of herself.

"Saphir and I will be leaving soon," Diamante nods and offers him a seat. He politely declines it and continues to stand near the door.

"I want to come here and thank you for inviting us to your home. It has been wonderful seeing how happy our old colleagues are. Even though I have done unspeakable things to you, I still appreciate it," Diamante smiles at Rubis' sincere statement.

He has put Diamante into his spell without realizing it.

When she sees Rubis reach for the door, something compels Diamante to stop him. Rubis immediately turns around and waits for Diamante to say something. Diamante sighs and tries to avoid looking into his eyes.

"Why don't you and your brother come more often? We do not mind the company, and you can both stay overnight when it seems fit," Diamante asks in slight desperation. This is so embarrassing. Diamante Stanzolio, the diamond demon, is essentially begging Rubis back to her place. What if he exposes her hideout to the police?

But instead, Rubis nods. Diamante releases a breath that she didn't know that she has been holding. Rubis opens the door, says goodbye, and leaves. Diamante can't help but gush; she will be seeing the twins again.

The woman is not excited to see the ice twin at all. But anything will be fine, just so long as she sees the fire twin. Diamante sighs and resumes going over the paperwork. After ten minutes, somebody knocks on the door. Diamante allows the person to come in, and it is Onice.

"Jeffrey and the recruits will arrive soon," Onice informs. Diamante nods and waits. Onice stands by her side and lays a comforting hand.

This is the moment. Now they will see if the recruits are hiding something.

One by one, the recruits start coming in. Each of them, knowing that they will have to, line up for Diamante. Once the last recruit enters the room, it begins.

"As you all know, Marcus and some of the recruits have made a fail attempt to take my life," The recruits say nothing in return, fearing that it will only anger Diamante.

"Some of you were friends with these traitors. And I understand that they mean something to you. However, they could have given you information about his whereabouts and intentions," She takes out a piece of paper, a quill, and ink. Diamante gestures Onice to go and examine Jeffrey. Diamante notices Jeffrey's stoic expressions, seeing no indication of nervousness whatsoever. So she is confident that he isn't part of the takedown of Diamante.

Once his examination is done, Onice walks back to Diamante and whispers in her ear the relevant information. She writes it down and bids Jeffrey goodbye.

It takes Diamante and Onice about an hour to go over everything with the remaining recruits. It takes a while for Diamante to write down all of the information, but she gets there. However, she doesn't get to go over the information before the butler knocks on her door to alert her that lunch is ready.

Onice and Diamante leave her office and enter the dining room to eat. This time they are having a lighter meal of broth with pieces of meat and vegetables inside. Diamante eats the meal with little to no slurping.

She looks up and can't help but roll her eyes at the leaders' slurping. But she has to ignore it. Such noises can really put her in a bad headspace.

Once Diamante is done, she has to wait for Onice to finish. Once he is done, they both go back inside Diamante's office and go over the official information.

All four women have been having very 'ribald' relationships with the recruits, even with Jeffrey. However, one of them has a special relationship with the traitor. Because of that, she knows where Marcus' whereabouts are; and she failed to mention it to Diamante.

So she will have to go.

Three more recruits have also been inside workers for Marcus. They will receive information about the Manor and then send it back to him. One of them has been close to telling him that the plan for Diamante's demise failed.

No one else seems to know anything that can make Diamante suspicious. But that will only leave eight recruits, and she needs more.

However, she can't have these kinds of people around her. So they will have to go. Diamante bites her nails as anger begins bubbling over her. But she has to remain calm. This can be a good thing. They can be set as an example.

Diamante wants to make sure that their exterminations are more interesting. She rings her bell and waits for one of the butlers to come in. Once he does, she sends a message for all workers and leaders to come outside in ten minutes.

Diamante stands up and leaves her office. She walks out the backdoor and sighs in relief.

The arena is now complete, so she can be able to use it. Once Diamante enters the building, she marvels at the interior and all the weapons on the walls. She immediately grabs the wooden club with long metal spikes protruding out of it.

She walks out and waits as more and more people stand in front of her. Shimmering silver eyes slowly observe the area until she is sure that no one (except for the sick) is missing the attendance. The noise of people's curiosity sends Diamante into a slight rage.

"Be quiet!" Diamante roars. Immediately silence hangs in the air. Now it is time for the true fun to begin.

"As your main organizer of this group, I have tried to treat all of you with special privileges. However, some people have betrayed me in exchange for power. Marcus and his posse tried to kill me, but I came out victorious," Everyone cheers at Diamante's speech. But she is not done.

"That is not all. There are also spies and people who are in contact with these traitors. And I will like to point them out," Everyone stays silent as Diamante slowly picks out the four people. They all stand in front of her as she glares into their souls with a wave of fiery rage.

The female recruit even has the nerve to cry. Such a pathetic wench; to not even stay by Diamante's side and cry about it says a lot.

"We will be fighting in the arena. If you really want me dead, then you have to prove that you can take my life. Pick a weapon and wait inside," Diamante watches with a mean eye as they do as she says. At least they have no way of backing out.

However, one of the recruits immediately runs away in an attempt to escape. Not surprising to Diamante, she hurls the club at the back of his head. The accurate, swift, and fatal impact knocks him down to the ground. His blood paints the surrounding grass a lovely crimson-red. The man involuntarily twitches for a few more seconds until he completely lies still.

His death causes the crowd to gasp in horror. Diamante understands their positions. But he is a spy, and she couldn't allow him to live. She waits as all three recruits walk inside. It takes at least three of the butlers to rip off the club embedded into the victim's occipital lobe and return it to Diamante.

Diamante cannot help but marvel as the weapon drips the beautiful red fluid. There are even bits of bone and flesh on it. She casually picks off the tissue, bone, and brain matter while walking. As all of them make their way inside the arena, Diamante turns to see how the traitors are. It is no surprise that they are facing the ground while walking.

Pathetic.

All of the employees and leaders take their seats and mumble amongst themselves. The sound drowns out Diamante's mind. And instead of telling them to stop, she allows it to fuel her raging storm of fiery emotions.

Diamante notices that the renegades are standing on the other side. They also have bows and arrows, a pistol, and throwing blades. These are long-distance weapons, so they won't have to be in close contact to hit her. All three of them get into their battle stance, ready to fight.

Let's see how well Nikita, Anastasia, Jeffrey, and Marcus have been training them.

Diamante briskly walks towards them with a sense of agility and grace. One of the recruits throws a blade right at her. Without a second, Diamante merely swats the weapon with the bat and it flies across the sky and lands on the arena floor. The next recruit attempt to aim a multitude of arrows at her. She dodges the projectile with ease, making the arrows miss. Diamante then picks up the pace, and charges towards them.

Finally, the last recruit aims directly at her. The bullet does nothing except grazing her skin. The last recruit tries reloading the gun, but his nerves get the best of him. All three traitors have little time to react when Diamante swings her weapon at them with full force.

Diamante and Onice Stanzolio are extraordinary. Both of them not only have powerful eyes, but they have tremendous strength and incredible speed. These powers are usually hidden for a good reason, but now Diamnte's true powers will be coming to light.

Once all of them are down on the ground, yowling in pain. Diamante made sure that they did not die just yet. The fair maiden goes over to the weapons wall and chooses the best tool to destroy them.

Diamante's eyes gleam when she sees a golden tomahawk. Diamante picks it up, walks up to them (with a large tomahawk in her hands, of course), and without any hesitation, slices the head off of the first recruit. Then, Diamante walks to the next traitor and chops off her leg with clean rigour. The fair lady watches in delight as her screams echo through the arena. Her leg is constantly squirting out the thick metallic blood.

The poor woman tries to crawl away. But the effort is futile, and she eventually succumbs to the blood loss.

The last recruit tries to escape. However, this does nothing to faze the beautiful beast. She allows the man to crawl away for a good forty seconds before becoming bored. She then lunges the ax and it lands straight into the middle of his head.

It goes right down and stops at the top of the cervical spinal cord. The body becomes limp and the crowd grows dead silent. After a few seconds, a wave of loud noise erupts. Diamante looks up, and she sees Onice watch her in approval.

The employees and leaders shall never cross paths with Diamante Stanzolio, lest they will deal with her wrath of the hellhound.

She is a force that cannot be reckoned with.

As the crowd's screams of excitement, horror, or plain sadness fill the assembly, the diamond demon's search for blood boils over.

Now she is ready to destroy Marcus Allard.
