The Other Side

"I swear it was Winston's idea! " My brother Nick murmured and he's now shivering as he pointed to Winston. "But it was you who agreed on it!" Said Winston as they started to blame each other.

"Shut it! Why did you even bring Josaiah there! Had you gone insane?!" The three of them bow down on me and said their sorry.

"We just want to see if he's a boy or what," I raised my eyebrows that send them chills that's why they shut up.

"He's not that type of person as you think, He has the purest heart that you wish to be with," I said as the three of them looked at me. "Your Mom will be home this Friday, How can you explain the stuff you did while she's away?" they ask as my fist clenched knowing that I will be in great trouble.

"Josaiah will be away for a while I think I can get Mom to be convinced that I will stay here for a while," I said and both of them look at me with a serious face. "You know you can't do that right?" Brother Nick said as I sighed in defeat.

My Mom is so furious and you cannot get a chance to meet her if you don't book a schedule even if I was her child I still need to wait online just to see her. She's always away from town so is my Dad.

We ran big businesses from different countries such as casinos and the underground battle which is yeah illegal. My family is a Mafia, My family is one of those bad persons and so is I as their child.

We were corrupt but the police cannot take us down because of our money and fame. I can say That being rich has a lot of advantages more than I know but we also have some disadvantages.

First is never get to be friends with anyone, Because what if our secret will be known and get to move out again just like we always do.

My Mom didn't hear anything from Josaiah so is my Dad, But I was shocked when Dad had a good talk with him on my birthday as he said that now he understands why I want to be friends with him. I didn't know what happen that night but my Dad had no problem with Josaiah.

"Princess Maraiah," I look at our maid as she was pointing at my Fathers study room so I went in and saw my Dad drinking a glass of wine.

"So what happens to Josaiah?" He asked as I explained what my brother did tonight. "Guess your brothers are a jerk," he said and took a sip from his wine as I smiled sadly. "Is my Mom coming home?" I asked as he stopped drinking from his wine and look at me.

"Did they tell you?" He asked as I nodded. "I knew that she will be coming home this year but I didn't have a clue that it will be on Friday," I explained.

"Your Mom wants to meet him," I was stunned by what I heard. "Why would my Mom do that?" I asked because I was confused and sad at the same time. I don't want her to say some hurtful words towards Josaiah it might break our friendship.

"I know you don't want her to meet Josaiah but that is her request, To bring the boy to her. You know your mother and she gets what she wants," he added as I sigh and look at our family portrait. Why did she even give birth to me?

My mother is the second woman of my Dad, I am an illegitimate daughter but nobody knew about that since I'm holding my father's surname. Nick, Dustin, and Winston are my older brothers and they live with their Mom but our stories didn't affect our bond and we treat each other like real brothers and sisters.

Sometimes Aunt Lucia comes to the mansion just to talk about some errands with my Dad, She's the legal wife and she always looks at me disgustingly like I was a piece of mistake in the house. I was just glad that my brothers didn't feel the same towards me and become good to me ever since then.

"Lucia will be staying here too for a bit while," he added. "What?!" I gasp knowing that my Mom will be home too. "You're going to let them stay in one roof? Have you gone insane?!" I said as my Dad got serious and put his glass of wine on the table.

"You know that Ara won't be staying here right even if I insist to," he said as I realize that he got a point. "Plus Lucia will be here for a while because of those three," He added. "They made some trouble regarding the Company's underground business, Which is supposedly be led by you," he said and pointed at me.

"But you decided not to take care of it because of Josaiah right? You keep your standard low just for him, you acted like an angel when what's inside you is a demon, your great putting up your mask it was such a big act just for him."

"Shut it!"

"How I wish to see you again with your real self, I miss that Maraiah we all know," he said as he sat down on his swivel chair and look at me. "You may now dismiss," he added as I was pissed and went to my room and shout till my heart's content.

I look at our high school picture and smiled gently, I will protect us no matter what happens, even if it means fighting with my own blood and flesh.

"I just hope you'll come up understanding things that this is not the Maraiah that you know," I said as I put down the frame and hug my pillow.

'I also hope you'll come to understand how much you mean to me.'

I stand up when I heard a knock as I open the door and saw my three brothers. "What do you want this time?" I asked but they entered my room immediately. "Who gave you guys permission to enter?!" I said angrily but they act like they didn't hear a thing.

"Our Mom will be here tomorrow you should go pack your things before she kills you," Winston said.

"Or poison you," Nick added.

"Or even worst set you in a fire!" my brother Dustin added as the three of them freak out like morons. "Hey, What's the worst thing that could happen anyway," I said as I open my mini-fridge and got some refreshments.

"Will you be okay?" they asked, "Have you forgotten that I am Maraiah?" I asked as they got clueless. "The MARAIAH," I specified the word Maraiah as they start to get the point. "Oh! About that we almost had forgotten who you are," Brother Winston said as the three of them scratch their neck.

"Anyways, Josaiah will be away for a while and I heard from Dad that the three of you messed up that's why Aunt Lucia will be home" I glared at them as they look at me with guilty eyes.

"Your Lucky that Josaiah won't be around for a week so I can help you guys take care of that problem," I said as their faces lift and smiled at me as they hugged me.

"You are the best!" they said in sync.

I guess I'll be that Maraiah for a while...
