New Girl

I sighed as I reach my classroom quietly. "Yow Josaiah!" I almost scream in pain when my classmate touches my shoulder. I kinda injured it when I helped my grandma fix the light as I got out of balance and fall from the ladder.

Well, I didn't have the time to go to the doctor to check it up since I was about to get late from school, I don't feel well too and my body feels hot. "Did you see the new girl in school?" he asked as I shake my head.

"Man you should see her! She's a hottie!" he whispered as they laugh and look at the window. "Look!" as they pointed to the girl next to Maraiah, I never saw her before I kinda wonder who is she?

They went inside the class and have some chit chats which is I'm not interested in since I don't feel well at all. The most unlucky thing today is it's our P.E and we are going to the field to execute some exercises.

"Please change to your P.E uniform." the prof command as I stand up when Maraiah comes to me and asked if I'm okay and of course I said yes, I don't want her to worry so much even though her face is showing that's she's worried.

"Hey, Your friends with Maraiah right?" one of my classmates asked as he touches my shoulder and grips it without knowing that it brings pain to me. "Yeah..." I almost said that in a whispering way because the pain is really killing my body system.

"Try asking her friend to go out with me," he requested as he taps my shoulder. "I'll be counting on you," he added as he left me in the locker room. I'm sweating hard now and I really don't feel that well to do those exercises.

I just lay down on the chair and take a little rest. I woke up in the clinic and saw Maraiah next to me sleeping. "Hey," I called as I tap her shoulder as she looks at me and yawn. "Why am I here?" I asked as she's rubbing her eyes and yawn again.

"Are you feeling fine now?" She asked as I nodded when she pointed at my injury which has a bandage now. "The nurse wasn't around so I called our family doctor to treat you, You've been in pain the whole time and you hide it from me! I was worried!" she shouted as I bow down my head and said my sorry.

"You can also count on me too you know," she added while pouting as I pulled her near me and kissed her head. "Thank you for today," I said my sincere thank you because I bet she skipped class just for me.

"Oh by the way if your thinking that I skipped class I made this day a holiday and also the teacher wants to meet you after you heal down," she said as my blood boil. "I told you not to make normal days as a holiday just for this stuff!" I shouted as she laughs while I give her my nagging.

The last time when it's her birthday she made it a holiday because I didn't get a chance to sleep properly and now for this?! I'm really doomed now.

I got home with no one in my house, My heart is beating so fast because what if something bad happens again. "Mom! Grandma! Where are you! Answer me!" I shouted but my voice just echoes around.

I run towards my room to call for help when the light start and everyone greeted me happy birthday. It's my birthday?

I look at Maraiah holding the cake as she lit the candles up, I was not touched at all I was mad for making this kind of surprise towards me when she knew that I was traumatized by what happened to us in our vacation.

I didn't think anymore but slap the cake out of her hand causing it to fall and the candles off. "It's not funny at all, working so hard just for this and making me worry about what happens to my family just for this surprise is not funny at all," I said as I look at her but she's looking at the cake that's now on the floor.

"Josaiah! Maraiah worked hard for this just for you!" my Mom scolded me as I look at them with a poker face. "Thank you for the hard work you may now leave all of you," I said as Maraiah get her cake and run outside as I closed my door.

When it comes to my family I have no time on joking around just like that if she didn't get any of that at all then she is dumber than I ever thought.

I look at the design in my room as I saw a box on my study table and open it,

'I really don't know what gift should I give to you, I can give you cars, a house, money, and everything but I wanna give you something I work hard on. I hope you like my cake and here are some cookies I made by myself. Enjoy your day, Happy Birthday Josaiah'

I kinda feel bad for what I did just now throwing the cake she made is really not that polite of me. I tried contacting her that night but I received no response at all, not even a single message.

She didn't come to school the next day and my Teacher scolded me for the Holidays the Princess had requested for my own sake. I apologize and they let me clean the swimming pool.

"Hey, Your Josaiah right?" I look at the new girl and nodded. "Did you taste the cake she made?" she asked as I said no.

"Why no? She worked a whole week to perfect that cake." She said as she stands up next to me as I sigh. " I got pissed..." I answered as she looks disappointed too.

"You know I studied baking for 4 years just to perfect the taste and measurements. I was amazed by her because she just did it in a week." she looks at me and smiles sadly. "I just hope she didn't go back on being a demon yet," she said in a low voice.

"What?" I asked as she waves her goodbye to me and left me alone in the pool.
