44. Get Through The Rain

"Where's that girl?" Darren began to think hard. His memory points to his mother. Darren also called Sara to inquire about the whereabouts of his wife.

"Mommy, is Calista with you?" Darren asked directly without further ado.

"You didn't ask what mommy was doing before, instead you immediately asked Calista. Where is my daughter-in-law? Isn't it with you?" replied Sara who was enjoying a Balinese massage at one of the famous spas in Seminyak.

"I was, but she left first." Darren answered while clenching his jaw. All because of Britney. Every time this woman appears, it always triggers a fight between him and Calista. But Darren couldn't refuse Britney outright because after all his company still had a long-standing business relationship with Britney's family.

"How could you? Quickly look for her until you find him. If you need, just report to the police! She doesn't know this area, Darren. How do you become a husband?" Not a satisfactory answer that Darren got from his mother, but the scolding and swearing that made his ears hot.

"Darren, Darren, do you hear me? tuuutttt." Darren turned off the phone.

"You stubborn child!" Sara shook her head and continued on her stomach while enjoying the sensation of the massage on her back.

Darren drove his car back to the hotel. It's the only place Calista can go. Darren hoped Calista would come back to the hotel and wait for him in the lobby or anywhere else in the hotel. Darren immediately walked quickly to the elevator after parking his car in the basement.

It took a few minutes for the elevator doors to open. And, finally the automatic door opened wide.

"Eh, did you see that girl sleeping alone in the park?" A male hotel employee, seen from his uniform, talking to another fellow employee.

"Yes, she's beautiful too. She seems really tired to sleep like that. Hehe ..." replied the friend.

Darren overheard it but he didn't know that they were talking about his wife. The green-eyed man was busy calling a number that consistently didn't receive calls.

"SHIT!" Darren cursed loud enough that the two employees turned their heads towards the man's loud, athletic voice. They both smirked and exchanged glances.

Darren immediately got out of the elevator to the floor where his room was. He had searched in all directions but could not find where Calista was.

"What a troublesome woman!" Darren grumbled while brushing his thick hair with his long fingers.

Darren was silent for a moment, concentrating, where does he think Calista will go if she can't go anywhere?

Darren decided to go into his room while waiting for Calista inside. There was no way that the stupid woman would go far without knowing anyone.

Darren had been waiting for half an hour. Raindrops started to wet the window from outside. Darren was restless. Where is that girl? Doesn't she know her way back to the hotel? Darren thought.

Darren couldn't wait long. He immediately left the room. Darren went to the room where his mother was staying.

Knock knock...

"Who is it?" A soft voice sounded from outside.

"It's me mom." Darren answered.

"What is it now?" Darren went straight to his mom's room and searched the whole room.

"Hey, what's wrong? Are you looking for Calista? She's not here." Sara replied, following where her son's feet went.

"What's wrong? Why are you guys scattered?" Sara furrowed her brows in question.

"Britney. She showed up when we were just starting to eat. Shit!" Darren cursed harshly when he recalled the incident that had caused Calista to go alone.

"Again? Why is she always everywhere? I am fed up with her. If it's not her father's company working with your dad's company, I am lazy to pretend to smile with her mother." Sara replied, pursed her lips and folded her arms in front of her chest.

"That is it, I've rejected her many times. But, she never listens. Maybe I didn't push her hard enough." Darren thought.

"Now where are you looking for Calista? It's also mommy's fault for bringing her here. Try asking a hotel employee about Calista's figures. Maybe someone saw her here but she didn't want to go back to your room." Sara answered trying to come up with a solution.

"Okay, I'll go out looking for her again. If she comes, don't let her go again, okay mom." Darren asked and Sara nodded weakly.

Darren left his mother's room. The rain was getting heavier, accompanied by thunder and wind that echoed each other. Hopefully Calista will find a shelter, she prays.

Darren was about to walk towards the lobby and decided to ask the hotel security for help to find out where Calista was.

He suddenly remembered what the two employees in the elevator had said in the basement earlier. Garden? Where's the garden? he thought.

"Sorry, I want to ask. Where is the garden in this hotel?" Darren asked a security officer in a navy blue safari uniform who was on patrol.

"There are two gardens within this hotel, sir. On the first floor and on the 10th floor. However, on the first floor as you can see when you enter the hotel, the garden is being renovated. So, what can be enjoyed right now is only the garden on the 10th floor. " The young man in the safari uniform answered.

Darren immediately ran towards the elevator after saying his thanks, without waiting for an answer back.

Darren pressed the number 10 as soon as he entered the elevator. His heart hoped to find Calista there.

TING ...

The elevator reaches the designated floor. As soon as he got out of the elevator, he can still see the rooms that are lined up neatly and look clean. After walking not very far, around the corner Darren saw thick but see-through white glass coming out.

The heavy rain outside made Darren not sure Calista was there. As soon as he opened the glass door, the rainwater must have entered the hallway in front of the garden.

However, how surprised Darren was when he saw a woman who looked like Calista was squatting with her knees drenched in drenched clothes, taking shelter under a wooden roof that wasn't that wide.

"SHIT!" Darren screamed loudly when he saw Calista was cold there with her face down. He also ran over to his version of the stupid woman. A woman who doesn't want to bother other people even though she needs help.

"What are you doing here?" Darren stood up against the rain that fell on his body. The woman, whose sleep was disturbed by the rain, tilted her head weakly upwards. His face and body were drenched in sweat, clearly visible there. Calista tried to stand up but she immediately swayed and almost fell backwards.

Darren pulled her so she wouldn't fall. But in the end, both of their bodies were drenched by the rain that was getting harder and harder.

Calista looked at Darren's green eyes with twinkling eyes because of the torrential rain that wet his head.

"What are you doing here?" Answered Calista without sin.
