First Day in School

After two days

The door of room 207 of boys' dormitory opened. Arthur entered the room, his hair still wet after taking bath. He opened the almirah and took out his uniform which was has some wrinkles.

Today all the students who survived from the dungeon were required to attend classes. This was what the teacher said to every student yesterday and also tried to encourage them.

After wearing the uniform which consists of a half sleeved white shirt and a black pant, Arthur picked up his bag and walked out of the room before locking it.

The school is called Evernight Elementalist School. After walking for some time Arthur reached his class. 3-C was written on a fixed small board near the door. While he walking other students were glancing at him and whispering, everybody knows about what happened in the dungeon. There were also some students who looking at the students in his class but none of them went inside. Entering the class what greeted him was a sad atmosphere.

There were eight students, five girls and three boys sitting on the seats, their heads hanging low. Out of nineteen students who survived, nine wer of his class and remaining 10 were of class 3-D. Soon classes started, the homeroom teacher, Sophia arrived and soon left after saying words of encouragement while giving Arthur a concerned look. She seemed to be worried and also told the students to keep attention in the lectures and to everything around them. Unknown to the students a teacher was just outside the class looking at the students from time to time with a look of pity but had a sick smile on his face

The first lecture was of Elements and Elemental Energy. The teacher was an man in his fifties. He rank is F. Even though he knew that the students weren't listening, he still had to teach as the principle had said and he also sent a teacher to keep an eye on the class.

Arthur was already alert due to Sophia's words and the concerned look she gave him. Also he was not like other students who were still in grief. He noticed that the old man sometimes looked outiside the class near the back door. There are two doors in the classroom, one at the front and the other one at back.

Arthur saw that there was a teacher who was outside the classroom near tye back door and from time to time will look at them. Arthur remembered that this teacher is new and joined the school half a month ago.

After seeing the teacher, Arthur remained calm. He didn't tell any of the students about the teacher keeping an eye on them. The teachers might think that he sent by the principle to see how the students behave, thinking that he will beat the students who weren't serious in the lecture. That was why Sophia had told them to keep attention. But Arthur had his suspicions about him. After the incident that happened two days ago when the cube killed the spirit, Arthur was sure that the prince will do something again, it being only a matter of time.

There is also a common thing about him and the two teachers that killed the previous owner of the body. They all joined the school within a month. Maybe this person is also one of the prince's men.

Arthur remembered from his memories that on the day two E-rank hunters joined them, the principle was beaming with smile. The students who were chosen to receive punishment on that day for performing poorly also received less beatings.

When Arthur was in the hospital he came to the conclusion that the prince had wanted the book and the dungeon core. For this he sent some of his men to the school to act as teachers and get the book and the core. As for why he did this secretly instead of simply going to the dungeon and getting both the book and core himself, Arthur thinks that there might be an enemy of the prince and the prince dosen't want him to find about it. But there are some things he didn't know. Like why was that dungeon so abnormal. Why that dungeon monster was so strong. Soon the bell rang signifying the end of the lecture

Arthur watched as the first lecture ended and the next teacher came in soon. The teacher gave a sigh seeing the pitiful look on the children, tried to encourage them but it didn't have much effect.

Arthur also continued his acting. The reason for him not warning the students about the teacher who was keeping an eye on them outside was he didn't to attract anyone was interest on him. The incident with the spirit had already made things bad and he didn't want to make it worse by standing out. There was no way he can quietly tell these kids that there is a teacher keeping an eye on us, unless he wanted to attract said teacher's attention.

Soon lunch break came. Arthur saw as the teacher who was outside the classroom, looking at them since morning move as he came in the classroom and said to all the students to go to the training block. The principal wanted to say something to them. The students sat up from there seats and followed the teacher. While walking through the corridor many students were looking at them, whispering among each other.

"Do you know about what happened in the dungeon?"

"Are you dumb? The whole school knows what happened there. 51 students died in that G-rank dungeon. Also all the teachers who went with also died, even the E-rank ones!"

"I didn't believe it first-- "

"Damn, look at the dead looks on their faces."

Arthur also agreed with that person who said about the 'dead looks'. The looks on the students' face is as if someone had massacred their family. But it is also not far from the point. All the students of class 3-C had been together with each other for more than two years. As they were orphans they saw and treated each other as family. Now that their family members have dies, so it is understandable they are sad.

Soon the students of class 3-D also joined them, their looks weren't much different from those of class 3-C. But there were only eight students there.

'Looks like two decided to stay in the dormitory.'

Soon they reached the training block. The principal was already there with another teacher. There were also two students there. The students of class 3-D looked at the two students in confusion thinking why these two were also here.

Some of them thought that the principal wanted to say something to them. But they were wrong. Because as soon as they entered the training block the teacher who was behind them closed the door and stood near it as if preventing the students from leaving.

The students were still confused when the principal looked at them with grin and said

"Lets play a game today, my dear students."

While playfully saying this the principal took out his weapon which he often use to beat students. It was a yellow and blue coloured stick. While looking at one of two students who didn't attended the classes he raised the stick up and then... bam... crack
