Part 9

Arthur's POV

I heard the huge amount of training that I'd be doing in the mornings and almost fainted. I looked at the monster in front of me wondering what kind of psycho would make a training regime that hard.

"What is wrong with you!!" I shouted at him.

"what?" He said with a confused look that infuriated me even more.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!!" I raised my voice even louder this time.

"Relax, you'll get used to it in no time. I did when I was younger" he said with smile.

"I'm not a monster like you!" I said wondering what kind of hell he crawled up from if that was his required workout.

"Then I assume you don't want to get stronger then?" He said as I couldn't think of a response and walked off to do this workout whilst wondering what I did to bring this onto me.

After completing the workout, I struggled to move as every step felt like I was being stabbed, i eventually reached where he was to see him roasting some meat, making my stomach growl. I came closer and sat down in front of him with a defeated look as I saw him take out a bottle that was exactly the same as when I was injured fighting the elder wood guardian, as he put a drop on the meat.

"Eat up" he said passing the whole chunk of meat towards me.

I devoured the meat in a matter of minutes as I felt my fatigue going away whilst he smiled lightly at me. I revelled in the taste of the meat as well as the fact my hunger subsided as I looked back to see him smiling again in a way that said more hell was coming.

Oh no.

"Now that your all fed up let's begin part two of your physical training. Let's work on your technique" he said as my face fell in despair.

"Can't I rest for a bit?" I pleaded thinking that he was going to kill me with what was next.

"Nope" he said smiling as my hopes of rest vanished in the wind.

"Come" he said as I got up and followed him to an open field area.

I looked at the area and thought that it was a good training spot as I saw that uncle Jin woos shadow fluctuated as a tall figure wearing armour  with a long black sword at his side.

"What the hell is that!!" I shouted pointing at the black creature.

"This is one of my abilities, it allows me to extract the souls from dead creatures and turn them into my soldier. This is Igrit, the strongest and most experienced knight in my army and the one who will be training you for the next 2 and a half years" he said as I continued to stare at the towering giant thinking that I'm going to die.

"Where will you be?" I said after collecting my thoughts.

"I have business elsewhere so I'll leave behind some necessary things for survival" he said as a ring appeared out of thin air.

"Also, for the holy water of life only one drop needs to be added for each meal otherwise the mana inside will kill you" he said as I checked the storage ring to find lots of materials and ten bottles of the holy water of life.

As I was checking the ring I noticed him speaking to the shadow knight and to my complete shock it responded, albeit in a different language and a rough voice.

"Well then I'll be off" he said as he disappeared from the area to which I was no longer shocked from this.

I saw a wooden blade appear out of the corner of my eye as I caught it and locked at the night to see him in his stance holding another wooden sword. I got into stance and leapt at the towering knight.

Sung Jin woos POV

I disappeared from the island, not before making sure it was fully protected against any who come close. I decided that flying was to annoying and opened a portal and headed to a different continent besides Dicathen. I noticed something after checking Arthur's mana core. It was tiny but it was there, a sign of the absolute being, i thought I was feeling things at first but confined it later on.

I wanted to check out epheoutus to find out if I was right. After reaching this much more advanced continent I traveled to where one of the eight major clans were and had my suspicions confirmed by the use of a power that only the monarchs and rulers can use, the power of space, time and life. I sighed thinking that my life on this planet became a lot more complicated.

It seemed that I would have to take a trip to the planet of the rulers so I began opening a portal. It would be easier if I could go there instantly but due to the large distance between the planets I had to take my time, annoyingly. It would take around a month at least so I told Igrit to stay in Arthur's shadow when I'm gone.

I then traveled back to Dicathen and stayed in the beast glades for a the time being telling my soldiers to go and kill more high ranked monsters for my army.

After a months time was up I connected the spatial passageways alerting the rulers as a portal appeared. I entered the portal and left the planet for the home of the rulers. I exited the portal to be greeted by the incredibly tall rulers who were in front of the portals.

"Hello shadow monarch, may ask what brings you to our home?" the brightest fragment of brilliant light said.

I had to look up at them which annoyed me as talking would be very uncomfortable. They seemed to notice this and changed into a human form with white hair and suits.

"We have an issue on a planet I was on" I said with my emotionless face.

"Hmm, what issue could cause you to come to us for help?" Said another of the rulers as they all had confusion on their faces.

"There are signs of the Absolute being tampering with the planet" I said watching their faces turn into shock and confusion.

"And how do you know this?" Said one of the female rulers.

"There are certain beings on the planet who have touched the very threshold of the powers of time, space and life" I replied as we fell into a deep silence.

"Then it seems we must find out the reason behind this" said the brightest fragment.

"It seems we must" said another as they all chimed in agreement.

"For the time being though why don't we give the shadow monarch a tour of our home" said one of the females.

"Yes why not, it's his first time here so he would not be familiar with this place" said another.

"That is only if the monarch agrees" said the brightest fragment again as they all looked at me with eager smiles as if I had to say yes.

"Sigh... fine, it wouldn't hurt" I said as a few of them basically dragged me along whilst the rest followed me in tow.

After a few weeks of being dragged around the entire planet and trying out all the different foods that were here, I was resting in a hot spring in the palace of the rulers with the male rulers whilst the female ones were next door. They all noticed the scars on my body and I was interrogated by them, especially the one on my hand.

"This was caused by Antares" I said as they combed through their memories.

"The dragon monarch" I said instantly relieving their curiosity.

"Oh so that's what his name was" one of them said.

"Yes, no one ever knew his name" the brightest fragment said.

"He told me in the gap between dimensions" I said.

We continued talking for a while as we got more familiar with each other. They asked me questions about my time in the chaos world whilst I asked about their time here and the past. We then left and got changed with a snap of our fingers and walked into another area where the women were.

"You lot were long" said one of the female rulers.

"We were talking with Jin woo about his time fighting the monarchs" the brightest fragment added.

"Ooh can you tell us about it please" one of the females said coquettishly as I sighed before exposing it one more time.

"Who did you kill first?" Said another female ruler.

"The ice monarch, the beast monarch, the insect monarch, yogumunt, the iron body monarch, and Antares" I said in order recounting the memories in that world.

"That reminds me, what happened to legia" I said as I realised he was trapped in a dungeon.

"Ah, forgot about him" the brightest fragment said as they all remembered him.

I sighed at the thought of the most powerful beings in the universe forgetting about a the monarch of giants. Well it doesn't matter as he's trapped in that dungeon.

"Well at least it doesn't matter if he's till trapped" said one of the male monarchs.

We continued talking through the night until the sun rose. Naturally being higher beings has its perks as we don't get tired. We walked out of the palace and into the courtyard as we were met with the soldiers and envoys of the rulers bowing towards us.

"You are all dismissed" a ruler said as they left making the large courtyard empty in seconds.

"By the way, wouldn't it be easier to go through the chaos world towards the planet you were previously on" said a female ruler

"Don't you just want to see the world he rules" said another female ruler.

"Well we never had the chance to see it so I wanted to see it and it would be faster" the female ruler said.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes actually I had always wondered what it looked like" said the brightest fragment.

"Sigh... very well" I said in defeat as they all smiled.

I connected to the chaos world and opened up a black portal in an instant. "Come on then" I said walking into it as they followed me.

The brightest fragments POV

I was curious to see what the home of the monarchs looked like and imagined it to be built with huge palaces as their eager was huge. To my surprise what appeared was a bleak wasteland with charred ground and a grey sky.

"Welcome to the chaos world" Jin woo said as we all expanded our sight to see anything.

"There's nothing here" said 2nd brother.

"Course there isn't, I killed everything here. They all exist in my army" Jin woo said

"Can we see your army?" Said 4th sister.

"Sure" Jin woo said as his shadow expanded and a huge army of ten million came out and filled the barren land.

We all looked at the army see thousands of different kinds of monsters that bowed deeply toward Jin woo. I saw at the from to particular shadows that had massive amounts of aura, a tall ant and what looked like to be one of the soldiers from heaven.

"These are your soldiers" I asked.

"Yep, although my third martial is currently on that planet" he said.

"Oh okay" I said.

"Well then let's leave this place" he said retracting his army and opening up another portal.

We went through this portal and arrived an another planet to be met with a herd of wolves running at us. I saw that as they got closer they instantly turned to dust.

Sung Jin woos POV

"Yep we have arrived" I said turning around to see them looking at the place curiously as if they've never seen a first before.

"Where to first?" The brightest fragment asked.

"I want to go see someone first" I said before turning into a streak of light and flying away with them not far behind.

I flew toward the island as around a year would've passed in that place now and I wanted to see his progress. As we reached the island I lowered the restriction as we all entered above the island hiding our auras. I looked down to see Arthur training with Igrit, he looked a lot stronger now then he did back then and his technique had improved massively.

"Who is that?" One of the rulers asked me whilst pointing at Arthur.

"The son of a friend that I'm training" I replied.

"What for?" Another asked.

"I saw his future and wanted to help him grow stronger. Also he was were I noticed the absolute beings interference." I said as I snapped my fingers and time stopped for everyone but us.

We went down in front of Arthur and they examined him to see the power of space and time there. It had taken a while due to how small that power was. They all replied with a furrowed brow.

"Seems like the Absolute being has tampered with this planet. We shall return to our world and make appropriate preparations to help you with this" the brightest fragment replied as I opened up a portal and took them home.

After returning back to the island I started time again and stood to the side as I watched them practice, I saw that the flaws that were in Arthur's technique had reduced massively due to the fact that they had been fighting for hours every day.

"Seems like your doing alright"I said coming out of the shadows and nodding to Igrit as he bowed towards me.

"Uncle Jin woo!!" Arthur said smiling.

"How you doing kid?" I asked.

"I feel much stronger and I can fight much better" he replied.

"Good" I said.

"Have you finished your business?" He asked.

"Yep I'll be here for the next four years" I said causing him to smile.

"Now then let's see if all that hard work has paid off" I said before motioning to Igrit to give me the blade as he disappeared into my shadow.

"Come at me" I said.

"Sure" he said with confidence.

He ran at me at full speed as I noticed he wanted to get the upper hand by giving me no time to act. Sadly speed is my speciality as I moved faster and blocked his blow and took the brunt of the powerful blow with ease and swung at him. I connected with his blade as he tried to defend only to find that my swing was too powerful and blasted off into the distance.

He came out of the rubble looking like hell as I couldn't help myself and broke out in laughter as he glared at me in frustration. "You've certainly improved" I said elevating his spirits.

"Yet I still can't match you, uncle" he said with a sigh of defeat.

"Come let's rest" I said as he followed me.
