She’s mine

He tried starting the car but it couldn't. So he resorted to carrying Sophia in his arms after loosening her hands and feet. The street was quiet. No one in sight to help him.

He ran about in the darkness with a terrified expression, staring into Sophia's face once in a while.

He was weak already but knowing that Sophia was in a far worse condition, he kept moving fast. He could see a hotel in the distance, using his last strength, he ran towards it.

........

"What's happened here" The receptionists as Jason ran in and placed a bleeding woman on her desk without a care in the world.

"Quick. It's an emergency. Do you have any medical personnel in the hotel"

The receptionist, Anna, could see the fear in his eyes and could note the desperation in his voice. She picked up her telephone from the receiver and punched in some digits quickly.

She put the phone to her ear and made a call. Jason paced about very worried. He was the only person that knew the amount of blood that Sophia had lost. He couldn't understand the fear in him He couldn't explain why his heart beat faster. He couldn't even understand himself this night. Why was he so determined to make sure nothing happened to Sophia.

"Mr. ?" He turned to see her holding a key. It was attached to a rectangular key holder. It was gold and it had a black inscription on it. 454. "Your room's on the top floor. I've made some calls to our medical workers. They'll attend to you in a minute"

Jason took the keys. "Thank you" He said with a sigh.

Two women in white gowns dragged in a stretcher. Jason placed Sophia on it and watched as they rolled it away. His heart beat faster seeing how still she was. Was she dead???

........

Jason was at the door of his hotel room. He was leaning against the wall next to it, arms folded as he watched the figure sleeping on the bed.

Sophia was in a Snow White night shirt that stopped above her knees. Her face was pale and very calm as she slept now. So calm, one might think she was dead. Her forehead was bandage leaving her hair to tussle down her shoulders and face. The white blankets stopped just below her chest which was rising and falling very slowly, evident that she was still alive.

The nurse came in. She handed a few drugs to Jason.

"Thank you nurse....for everything".

"It's alright. Just remember what I said. She should eat healthy from now on and she should avoid doing anything strenuous. She's lost a lot of blood so she'll be very weak. If you hadn't brought her in sooner, she may have died"

Jason shuddered at the thought .

He thanked her profusely before she left, closing the door behind her. He went over to the sleeping beauty and dropped the drugs on the bed side table, his eyes never leaving her face. He goes to the bathroom to shower and change out of his blood stained clothes.

....

Jason was seated on the edge of the bed. He had his phone and Josè's phone In his two hands. He dialed a number into his phone from the other.

It began to ring. He looked at Sophia again as he put the phone to his ear.

.....

Pearl excuses herself to the rest room. She comes out a minute later to Veronica's room. Her phone starts to ring.

.....𝓤𝓷𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀𝓷....

Squeezing her face, she picks up.

"Who is this"

"Hello beautiful"

Her face squeezed some more.

"What? Surprised to hear my voice?"

"Where are you. How did get my number"

"I'm at a hotel with your sister and thanks for asking... She's alive and doing well" He looks at Sophia again, her features were calm.

Pearl paced about the room

"Listen to me carefully Jason. You're not at home. So I have control over your family at this moment"

Jason frowned. "What do you mean".

"What I mean is", She brings out her gun and loads it for Jason to hear. "I can choose to kill them right now"

"Is that a threat"

"Yes. She's my sister. You have no rights over her. Bring her to me or kill her"

"And if I don't.....you'll kill the ones I love?"

"Isn't it obvious"

"Now you listen to me carefully....if I call my sister and find out you're still in that house, I'll make sure Sophia knows who really killed her father"

Pearl smirked. "How do you suppose she'll believe you"

Jason didn't answer her. Pearl waited for his reply only to hear the phone conversation she had with Jason hours ago. Her eyes widened. That was where she admitted killing her father. It was playing from Josè's phone.

"I can decide to send this to the cops. They'll figure out what they'll do with you. Maybe you'll rot in prison....."

"Don't you dare"

"Get out from my house this instant"

She gritted her teeth.

"For this week, Sophia's mine. So no one is allowed touch her"

"What happens after this week"

Jason shrugged. "She's yours"

"How can I trust you"

"She'll be at your doorstep by next week in New York. Be reassured of that. But for this week she's mine and mine alone" His voice was quiet but dark.

Pearl was about to say something but he hung up.
