Chapter 19

The door slammed open. Halle sat up, surprised as a grumpy Shizuka came inside.

"You think you need no dinner?"

"I'm tired Shizuka, I can't—"

"Then why don't you just come out, have dinner and go back to bed?" Shizuka was furious. "If you don't like to listen to me giving you a lecture, then stop acting like a child!"

Halle sighed. She had to calm herself before talking. "After having a child yourself, you're treating me like your second child. Can you stop that? I can take care of myself."

"The reason you're not falling ill is because I'm force feeding you," Shizuka shouted. "If you don't want me to treat you like a child then stop acting like one."

"Can I not be tired and messed up at once?" asked Halle. "Leave me alone for a while."

"You're coming out in twenty," said Shizuka.

She slammed the door shut and left. Halle could hear her heavy footsteps receding and sighed. She didn't want to be a burden but she was increasingly becoming one. She didn't want to get out of bed. It was too comfy.

Now or never, she thought.

She sighed and before she could change her mind, she got up, washed her sleepy face and went for dinner.
