Chapter 32

"Cancel it?" asked Halle. "No, I didn't."

"But it is already cancelled." The man said. "You want to order again?"

"Can you tell me who cancelled it?"

"Hmm . . ." there was a pause. "I got a number, you want it?"

"Yes, please." Halle went to the counter and took a pen and paper and noted it down. "Can you send the same order now?"

"You want to make the order again?"

"Yes." said Halle. "It is kinda urgent, so can you send it in an hour?"

"An hour is not possible ma'am."

Halle bit her lip. "When can you bring it?"

"Three hours, if there's no traffic."

"Oh," Halle made a mental calculation. Fine, the bloody café can wait. "Can you bring it early morning tomorrow? As early as 4:30 or 5?"

Arien raised his eyebrow. Pace shook her head at Arien.

"You guys open the shop as early as that?" Arien whispered.

Pace nodded and sighed.

"Give me a minute . . ." there was a long pause. "Yeah, we can bring it by 5 or 5:30."

"That would be great." said Halle. "Thank you."

"Yes, ma'am."

"And," Halle added before he cut the call. "Confirm with this number, in case anyone calls to cancel the order."

"Sure." The man cut the call.

Halle stared at the number.

"Someone cancelled the order?"

"Yes." Halle sighed. "I got the number of that person but I don't know whose it is."

"Why don't you call that number?"

"Why would I do that?" Halle looked taken aback.

"You're being too cautious, you know." Arien took a look at that number.

"Better safe than sorry." said Halle.

"Hmm . . ." Arien looked at Halle. "Do you mind if I note this down?"

"As long as you don't use my name when you call that number, I'm fine with it."

Arien chuckled. "No problem."

"So . . ." Halle looked at the time. "I guess we can leave after Pace completes."

"No wait . . ." said Arien. "I completely forgot. I'll fix these locks on both doors, we'll leave after that."

Halle smacked her head. "Me too. Okay, we'll go after that. I'll call Shizuka and inform by that time."

Arien nodded and started working on the locks.

"I'm almost done." Pace announced.

Halle went closer to check the data.

"We've made double the sales so far," said Pace. "When we subtract the money for ingredients . . . we've made quite some cash. We'll double check the amount tomorrow. You take it," she pointed to the box. "home. I think we can increase the prices about a few coins, we can make more by the time this hype goes down."

Halle thought about it. "You're not wrong. We'll decide on the prices tonight or tomorrow."

"Sure." Pace closed the system. "I'll be going then."

"Is that password protected?"

"Yes, why?"

"Nothing." Halle didn't want to terrify Pace. But she would be more annoyed than terrified with her thoughts . . .

Pace packed her stuff. Put the system back in. she took the box out and locked the drawer. "Here," she gave it to Halle who took it gingerly. "Anything else?"

"That's all, I guess." Halle said. "Oh wait. Hey, Arien give us the keys to the lock."

"It's on that table." He pointed to the table where his bag was.

Halle rummaged through his bag and took the keys and gave one to Pace and she put the other inside her pocket.

Pace took it and placed it in her bag with a worried look.

"Forget what happened." said Halle.

"You two call me in case anything happens."

"You go home safe!" said Arien sharply.

"Sure." Pace pouted then left.

Halle took the box, "Shall I keep it in your bag? I only brought my purse today."

"Yeah." said Arien. "Don't forget it though. I'm forgetful sometimes and I might take it home."

"Ha ha."

After sometime Arien fixed both the locks and put back the old locks in his bag then grinned. "I think we can go now."

Halle paused for a moment. "How many holidays do you get for a particular year?"

"Uh . . . I don't know." He scratched the back of his head. "Quite a few, I suppose. Why?"

"Well, you waste a lot of them for just helping us, so I wanted to know."

"Oh. My job isn't like your normal 9 to 5, so I can come and go as I please."

"Must be pretty fun."

"It is."

Halle checked the Baking Room. Except for the trash bags in the corner, it was pretty clean. She locked it and glanced around the place for a moment, checking if anything else was misplaced. She checked the draw again. She opened the door, Arien went out and she followed him out and locked the door.

"Let's go."
