HER FIANCE

- HELVETICA -

"Greetings, Your Majesty." I was stunned in my position as I smile awkwardly. I assumed she'll be taking her time, bidding farewell to her family.

You know what I mean? The typical drama where you have to be separated from your family? But here she is, standing right in front of my eyes.

With tons of suitcases that were jam-packed inside the 2 carriages. Did she packed her entire family's fortune in those bags? Does it include her towels, equipments, and items? She's really an odd woman. "I was expecting for you, Lady Camilla, but I don't think you'll show up 6 hours after the invitation was given."

Was she thrown off by her family just like that? Is her family even treating her well? She simply smiles as she observes the two carriages. Taking her belongings would necessitate a large number of persons.

"Serina, you must quickly call the knights to carry Lady Camilla's luggage," She chuckles slightly as she accepts my command. Who wouldn't be amused at this shambles?

"Your Majesty?" I return my gaze to the woman in front of me as she suddenly slaps her cheeks REALLY HARD..

"Oh, Ghod.. I'm not dreaming." I burst out laughing as I can't seem to contain it any longer. WHAT'S UP WITH WITH THIS WOMAN?! Did she lose too many screws in her head throughout the ride?

"You— YOU'RE BEING HILARIOUS! HAHAHAHA you're spouting weird things again! Are you alright? Did the ride caused too much effect in your head that made you hallucinate?" I can't help, but to laugh at her childishness.

"I was just happy to be in help of Her Majesty!" She exclaimed as I can see the satisfaction in her eyes. What made her hyped so much?

"You're speaking a maid language, Lady Camilla." Why is she acting as if I'm going to turn her into a slave? I yearned for a bride rather than another maid.

"You're my fiancé. I can't have you to speak to me like that. Please disregard the formality and call me, Hel, instead." Despite her embarrassment, she manages to call me well.

"Then, Hel." Her cheeks flushed as she calls my nickname. Why did I even choose her in the first place? She has too many things to learn.

But her presence isn't awful in my sight, if you'd asked me. She exudes a certain allure that draws others in, and her cheery demeanor that distinguishes who she really is. As we enter the palace, the butler takes her suitcase, wearing a satisfied expression.

As we stopped in front of them..

Father's smiling face looks forced while mother's face was simply natural. "Warm greetings to the Emperor Lucius, Greetings Empress Heather. I am Camilla Rosenblitz." She bows gracefully, attracting the attention of my mother.

"Raise your head, Ms. Camilla. What a cheerful child. That must be the reason why my daughter is fond of you." Why are you creating such ridiculous assumptions, mother? You know I could hear you very well.

"Duke Rosenblitz' daughter, I see. You arrived earlier than the given date." Father said with a disinterested voice as the people in the palace contain their laughter. How dare these lowly creatures mock my fiancé in front of me.

"Aren't you please, father? You have such a promising daughter-in-law. Mother seems to like her so what's with that attitude? If you're that uninterested you shouldn't have shown yourself, you're still disgusting as ever, Emperor LUCIUS." I speak softly, wearing my sweet and smiling face. The maids' seem to read the atmosphere as they excused themselves, away from my sight.

AS THEY SHOULD.

"Now, dear father, aren't you going to say something? Or your tongue has been cut off?" He coughs for a second before standing up, widening his arms as if the earth wanted to be hugged by this disgraceful creature. What is this? Some sort of his way of accepting people?

"Welcome to the palace, Lady Camilla. Please consider the palace as your residence. As a family, don't be scared to approach me or even the Empress. We will make sure to assist you as we can. I'm sorry as we didn't get to fix your room due to your early appearance." Lucius smiles as he looks at me.

He's the most repulsive creature, with the most phony smile of all. "I'll make sure to remember your words, Emperor Lucius. You may not have expected me so soon, but I hope it was evident to you that we've become a family, as you recently stated." What a clever response.

She transforms into a whole different person in a matter of seconds. Just like what she did back then. One word. AMUSEMENT. "Well then, I am looking forward to this dinner, Lady Camilla—" I cutted him.

"No, father. She'll only dine with me. She appears to be far earlier than the reported date, as you stated. So I'm hoping that my fiancé will be satisfied with the palace's preparations in two days. Well then, we will take our leave." I offer my hand as we leave the chamber.

I could feel her hands, trembling. Just like the last time. "Shall I give you a tour? You must memorize all doors. Although, it's quite confusing, please bear with me." She only gives a small nod. Trying to be obedient as we walk.

"You should raise your chin, straighten your posture, and walk with confidence. Show them that you're worthy as my bride. I don't want them to mock you so I wanted you to learn how things runs in this palace."

"Don't bury your head in the sand. Those maids will think of you as someone they can look down upon. I'm not here to protect you every minute. So don't stray from my side."

"You can ask Serina if you wanted to eat and ask me if you wanted to go to the capital. I will accompany you when you're going out or if I'm busy enough, take Serina or Vien with you."

"If you like, I can employ several personal maids for you, but you can always choose on your own." I let go of her hand as soon as it stops trembling. She walks beside me as we started to explore the palace.

"I will give you the freedom to do whatever you like. Attend a party, throw one, or even invite a few aristocrats to the palace. I will grant you authority to enter and exit the palace. However, you must notify me."

"You can't go alone. I'm afraid you'll create troubles for me. I don't want a news that you'll get kidnapped by those peasants lowly creatures."

"Don't stain my name and do what you said back on the meeting. Be someone who is worthy on everyone's eyes."

"However, you are not allowed to have a secret relationship with someone else behind my back. But if you ever get tired in this relationship, you can always say it to me directly. I will gladly let you go. You are not a criminal to be imprisoned in this palace."

Why would I even try to persuade someone to stay if the person doesn't even like me? I am an evil person, I admit. But forcing someone to stay isn't my cup of tea. Those kind of people doesn't even deserve to stay by my side.

After covering the essentials, I showed her around my favorite rooms and where she can find me during my rest.

"And I do sleep in the library so you could search for me in this corner." I said as I point out a bed on 5FA.

"Your room is just next to mine. State your name while knocking on my door. Open the doorknob and enter. Simple rules. I consider it as self-privacy and respect."

"I won't force you to sleep with me if you don't want too. I don't believe in such traditions. I wanted you to feel comfortable and make yourself at home." I've had enough of seeing my mother being filthy all over. I couldn't just treat her like how the king treated my mother. It's not pleasant in my eyes.

She reaches for the hem of my garment as she turns away, while her face was painted with the word EMBARASSMENT.

"What made Her Highness chose me?" She asked with a gentle tone.

"I just picked the person who they didn't expect me to choose." They favored Devourah more than anyone, but I couldn't just take her as my wife. I know that she's an elegant person, but this is all about me.

"I'm not much of a romantic person, Lady Camilla. My hands likes bloods, war, and punishments. I hope you have the fortitude to take it all in stride."

"That's why, when that day comes, when we think that we're not going to work anymore, I will make sure to let you go."

The reason why I chose her is that, I trust her words. LOYALTY along with FAITHFULNESS. She's the type of person who can help me to reach my goals. Perhaps, I also just wanted to shut my father's mouth, talking about marriage. I can be with a person, but loving someone?

It'll be hard. I honestly don't know anything about that shit called LOVE. That kind of gesture is a weird thing for me.
