YOU'RE THAT BRIGHT SIDE

"Who are they, Your Highness?" Serina's expression might be one of the interesting things I get to see early in the morning. Along with the maid who looks like minor in my eyes.

It's been 3 days since that night happened. When I woke up, it was like a normal day, except for the fact that Camilla is still getting use of the palace's ambiance.

"They will be under of your command." She breathes deeply as she returns her gaze to the maids. "Your Highness, I thought you only need one maid to work for you?" I flinched as soon as she exhales. Who would've thought that I will be swayed easily by that woman? It's not even my fault! She insisted.

"I chose them to be your assistant, Miss Serina. You're the only one who works for both of us; don't you think that's unfair? I know you aren't resting that much as you're always serving Her Majesty. I'm afraid you might be getting tired of always standing by her side. Am I wrong?" Camilla expressed herself in a soft tone.

"Don't worry, your salary will not decrease. I'm just concerned about your health." If you'd ask me, it makes sense. A person needs rest. I may have forgotten that my maid was also a human. Perhaps I'm just numb. Since the word 'rest' has never entered my vocabulary. Serina, on the other hand, simply bows with a smile.

"I'm not tired of serving Princess Helvetica. However, the help is appreciated, Lady Camilla. Well then, I will make sure to train these maids and exceeds your expectations." She excused herself as the young ladies followed her outside. As soon as they left the room, Camilla sat on the sofa as she sighs.

"Your maid is quite intimidating, you know that? Her eyes, her tone, and EVERYTHING!" It was like a Deja Vu since Serina also felt the same way when we were in The Rosenblitz manor. "Perhaps, I created her in that way." Just like Luna, my maid is gradually adapting my personality.

"Hel? About the maids that I hired, you have the ability to refuse last time. But why?" Does she even need to ask that? The answer is simple. "You're my fiancé. I told you that I'll give you the freedom to choose whoever you want. As long as they're trustworthy in your eyes." But her eyes seem to plead for more explanations.

"Are they trustworthy in your eyes?—" I cut her words.

"No." I'm not the sort to put my trust in someone so quickly. Because I believe that trust must be earned rather than given freely. One example is that: 'You cannot fall in love with someone you have just met. Love at first sight is like telling me you just fell in love with that someone because they appear promising.'

That's RIDICULOUS.

"Then why?"

"Because I somehow trust you, Lady Camilla. I assume that you have reasons for everything." I'm just applying her own words that she said. Camilla let out a little chuckle as she stands up. "Your birthday's coming soon. What's your plans? Anyone you wanted to invite?"

I closed my eyes for a few moments, thinking of a good concept for the event. "Is it really that important? Isn't a party like this is just merely a sign that we're getting older? And the more we get older, the more we're closer to death." Am I wrong tho? What will I gain from some silly party when the only thing I can recall is that I'm getting older? But still gorgeous as ever.

"And as you grow older, the more realization comes, isn't it?"

"I mean, age is just a number. You turn 20,30,40, or even senior age, it's just your outside. Your face and features doesn't define what you are on the inside. All that evolves is society's perception of you, and the respective expectations that come along with that perception. With age, comes fewer restrictions, and much more responsibility." I hate that she's actually spitting facts.

But you can't blame me as I don't want to get older. Because one day, you'll look back on your past and realize how happy you are back then, than what you're feeling right now.

But for me, there are no distinctions. I still feel shitty as both of my fathers are stupid assholes. "Learn to enjoy the significance of your birth, Hel. You might not be able to celebrate it when you grow older."

"I can throw a fit whenever I like, I just don't have the time for that." I said while getting up. I thought the conversation is already finished, until she continues. "However, I could see that you have the time to visit parties, celebrations, and events of other people while here you are, never get thrilled on your birthday celebration." She can't blame me.

Back then, my former father used to take all of our money just to satisfy himself. Even as a child, I wasn't fond of celebrations. I was just staying outside of the restaurant while watching those people. Perhaps, I just envy them for having such a good family.

Of course, I already fired those mongrels who dares to kick me off back then. I don't give mercy to people who treated me like I'm a trash. It's unfortunate that I became their princess. I might give them a chance to get back if they kneel. Honestly, I'll accept them as bathroom cleaners. That's where they're supposed to be.

They stink like a garbage bin.

"Don't scold me. I'm not even saying that I won't be preparing for my birthday." Look at this woman, getting excited over my matters. If it's just me, I wouldn't even dare to prepare it. I'm turning 20 for Pete's sake. And it's not even pleasing in my ears as I wanted to be young forever. Look good forever. Stay GORGEOUS FOR ETERNITY.

"Shall we start by planning about the theme?" With a quill and a piece of paper in her hands, she smiles. "Your choice." It's not like I'm not interested, but you can put it in that way.

"Can you just look at the bright side for a while? Just for this month?"

"I'm already looking at you." Her brows furrow as she stares at me while her face flushed with bewilderment. "You're that bright side, Camilla."

"HEL!" I burst out laughing as I couldn't handle it anymore. "Alright, Alright! I'll help!"

No one told me that having a fiancé has an advantage! I have someone I can tease on a daily basis other than my sister! IF YOU CAN JUST SEE HER FACE! IT'S PRICELESS!

Speaking of my sister, I rarely see her inside of the palace. Perhaps, she's meeting with the general?

Hmm.. Interesting.
