53. PE Class

Izumi often read romance novels or watched romance anime. However, romance in real life is different from fiction and it is difficult to apply in real life. So it's a matter of experience in the end.

"Ugghh. Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean like that." Izumi scratched his head while apologizing.

"So what do you mean?" Kyouko asked him intently.

Izumi didn't know what to say. The situation became tense when Izumi remained silent and didn't answer. But luckily the savior came.

"I'm home." A woman's voice came from the front door. Izumi guessed she must be Kyouko's mother, Hori Yuriko.

"Mama?" Kyouko was surprised. Usually, her mother works overtime. So it's rare for her mother to come home this early.

Souta, who heard his mother's voice, immediately ran toward the front door. However, his clothes were wet and soaking the floor.

"Mama!! Welcome back!!" Souta hugged her mother.

"Souta, what are you doing getting wet like this? Quickly change your clothes or you will catch a cold!" Yuriko said.

"Big brother gave me a nice toy, so I'm playing with it." Souta said happily.

"Big brother?" Yuriko was confused by what Souta meant. When she entered the house, she saw a boy who was with her daughter.

Izumi stood up and introduced himself to Yuriko.

Meanwhile, Kyouko approached her.

"Mama, it's surprising you came back so early." Kyouko said.

Yuriko looked at Izumi, then at Kyouko. She waved her hand signaling Kyouko to come closer.

"Nee~ nee~ Kyo-chan, who is he? Your boyfriend?" Yuriko whispered to Kyouko out of curiosity while teasing her.

"W-w-what are you saying? It's not like that." Kyouko denied it, but her expression told otherwise.

"Heee~ did I bother you?"

"No. Not at all." That was all Kyouko could say.

"So Izumi-kun, huh? You're Kyouko's schoolmate right?" Yuriko asked him with a smile.

Izumi nodded.

"Yes, we're in the same class."

Yuriko didn't want to interfere with their romance, so she changed the subject.

"Souta looks happy with the toy you gave him. What toy is it?"

Yuriko chatted with Izumi and occasionally cracked jokes. Izumi also said that her mother at home owned a cake shop and offered Yuriko to stop by once in a while.

"I'm home." Izumi opened the door, and the one who greeted him was...

"Where have you been? Do you know what time it is? As a student, shouldn't you study instead of playing around till this late?" The one who opened the door was Mafuyu. It was clear that Mafuyu was looking for an excuse to scold her because she didn't like Izumi's appearance.

"As long as I don't have red marks on my report, that's fine, right?" Izumi said casually while walking inside as if he didn't care about her at all.

"This guy!" Mafuyu twitched her cheek. But then, she sighed. She could only think that Izumi had become like this because of his experience in junior high school.

The following day.

On that day, the first lesson was physical education. The physical education in the previous week was just a fitness test and running around the field. Today might be different from the previous week.

Izumi immediately changed clothes and went to the field.

Looking at the soccer ball that was on the field, Izumi curved his mouth. He loved football since his previous life but never played it due to his weak body. Seeing today's physical education related to football, he became excited.

"Alright, before we start, I'll check your attendance first!" The teacher called the names of the students one by one.

"Okay, today there is no skipping or permission, good. Today's lesson is juggling, shooting, and passing. Average scores for boys and girls will be different. So the boys will gather on my left, and the girls will gather on my right!" The teacher explained to the students. Then one of the students asked.

"Teacher, can we play soccer?"

"If you want to play soccer, do it after we finish the assessment." Loud cheers rang out from the male students.

Students are called by the teacher from one pair to another for juggling, passing, and shooting. Those who had not been called played another ball, trying to practice their juggling before being assessed by the teacher. Izumi was no exception.

Izumi saw how the others were juggling the balls and demonstrated it himself. At first, he looked stiff, but after a few minutes, he got used to it and was able to juggle the ball without dropping it to the ground.

He thought of a brilliant idea. Since his strength had improved greatly, he used the football in his world for training to control his strength and restrained from using his power in an unreasonable amount. Most importantly, he just needed to show his strength to the limit of the strongest normal people in general.

"Miyamura Izumi, Ishikawa Tooru. It's your turn."

Izumi knew that guy. He was the one who took an interest in Kyouko. Tooru is slightly taller than Izumi. He has a slightly stocky figure with purple hair that is cut relatively short and purple-blue eyes.

Both Izumi and Tooru stepped forward. Then start juggling the ball and count how many touches they get in one minute. If the ball hits the ground, the count must be repeated, and the highest number of touches before hitting the ground within one minute will be determined as the final score.

One minute later.

"Oh, Miyamura, I didn't know you were good enough. You have the highest scores for now." Tooru praised Izumi. But Izumi just smiled in response.

After that, they did passing and shooting. The score of passing is calculated from receiving the ball and sending the ball, while shooting is calculated from the power of the shot and accuracy.

After being assessed, Izumi was approached by Tooru and the boy with green hair and eyes. The boy who was with Tooru was Iura Syu. He is also in the same class as Izumi.

"Hey, umm, Miyamura, right? Why are you always alone?" Tooru asked. Tooru is actually a nice guy who never judges people by appearances alone. But, being a "nice guy" is like a curse.

"Yup yup, you should get along with everyone." Syu said cheerfully. Well, actually Syu hadn't realized him until he did well with an earlier assessment.

"Well, a lot of people only look at other people by their appearance. I don't really need friends like that." Izumi shook lightly.

"Ugghh, how should I put it? It feels like you're deliberately distancing yourself from the others." Tooru said.

"True, I did that. But you are still determined to approach me, aren't you? You are such a nice guy." Izumi let out a chuckle.

Tooru was confused as to why Izumi was chuckling after saying that as if mocking him indirectly.

On the girl's side, Kyouko looked at Izumi who was with Tooru and Syu.

"So that guy finally talk with the others, huh?" Kyouko murmured, which was slightly heard by Yuki who was beside her.

"What is it, Hori?" Yuki asked her curiously.

Kyouko shook her head.

"It's nothing."

Meanwhile.

"Umm, you should be Iura, right?" Izumi asked. Although he knew him, he still asked directly.

"Yup, I never noticed you before. But I didn't think you were good at soccer." Syu replied.

"I noticed you were always alone. I thought you were either a bookworm type of guy or an acute otaku." Tooru talked to Izumi about how he looked in class.

"Me? A bookworm? Pffttt… If nothing interests me, I won't bother to study. Though, the latter might be right." It surprised them when Izumi said that with a chuckle.

"You really are an otaku? Bruh, you didn't even bother to hide it."

"Tooru's right. A lot of girls don't like an otaku guy, you know!"

Tooru and Syu commented, but Izumi just shrugged his shoulders while saying.

"Who cares? Most of those who look down on otaku are people who envy the various works that otaku create such as manga, anime, novels, and games. Well, I don't blame them anyway. Humans have all kinds of emotions, so that kind of thing is quite natural."
