Russo Origin Pt 1

It was about 20 years ago as we see a young man with white silver hair, looking for food in a trash can. He had worn out clothes as he looked dirty and thin. Suddenly, a man who was mobster pushed a guy out of a door as he landed against the wall. The young man immediately hid behind the garbage can as a capo walked out of the building. He was well dressed, black hair with blue eyes, scar on his right eye as that eye was milky white. He lighted up a cigarette that was in his mouth.

"That's Donny Conte." Said the young man.

"I'm tired of giving you many chance, Dino." Said the man.

"Boss, I'm sorry. I was only trying to do what was right for the boys." Said Dino.

"But that's not your choice to make, is it? I'm going to let you off easy because I respect your father. But never come back. And if I see you interfere with the family's business, I'm not going to show the same mercy I'm showing now. You understand?" Donny asked.

"Yeah, boss…" Dino replied.

Donny turned his back to him and made his way back into the building, until Dino pulled out a gun and pointed it at Donny's head. He was about to fire, until the young man jumped in and pushed the gun away. Dino fired his gun as Donny flinched from the gunshot, while the young man wrestled with Dino. The young man did his best, but Dino was way stronger, until Dino kicked off of the young. Donny pointed and aimed his gun at Dino. He was about to beg for his life, but Donny shot in two in the chest. Dino was dead as Donny's men ran out and saw what happened, while shielding the people's sight. Donny then looked at the young man as he panting and frightened by Dino's dead corpse.

"Just breath, kid. C'mon, focus. Tell me, what's your name?" Donny asked.

"I'm…I'm…Giovanni Russo." Said Russo.

It would be moments later as Donny and Russo were sitting in a restaurant booth. Donny was drinking some coffee, while Russo had eaten a few plates of food.

"Hungry, weren't ya?" Said Donny.

"Yeah." Russo replied, while still eating.

"You did me a good thing back there kid. I owe you my life. That damn coward was going to shoot me in the back of head! But I'm glad you were there. I owe you big time. And I don't think this food is enough. Say, where are you parents?" Donny asked as Russo stopped eating.

"I ain't got any." Said Russo.

"Hmm, yet, you know your full name. And Russo…that's the name of one of the family's. A small one, but still. You related to them by any chance?" Donny asked.

"I don't know." Russo replied.

"Would you like to know?" Donny asked.

"Does it matter? If I was a part of the family. Why am I in the streets, instead with the rest of the family? Was I mistake? Or a bastard who got in the way? Or my did my parents refuse to accept me as their child?" Said Russo.

"You put a lot of thought into that, huh, kid?" Said Donny.

"It's not that I've thought about it. At this point, I don't care. Neither should you." Said Russo.

"Alright, alright. But…let me take you in. Or at the very least, help you have a decent life. Maybe join me and my crew. If you're up to it." Said Donny.

"Why help me? What do you gain from all this?" Russo asked.

"In truth, I have a soft spot for kids like you. I grew up in the streets, because my parents worked too much and were paid so little. And I said, screw the system. Worked for the Adamo family and now my parents are living a good life up north in another city. I hate seeing other suffer because of other assholes refuse to lend a helping hand. But if you don't believe, I understand. But what I would like, is your loyalty. That's all. Interested?" Donny asked.

"Will I get to eat at this restaurant?" Russo asked.

"Yeah, kid. Hell, you can eat here for free. I own this joint." Donny laughed.

They both shook hands as Russo started out doing small jobs like deliver small packages, sending message to other men or families to avoid the police. He soon became a young adult as he started doing more dangerous work, while working close to Donny. They went walks to place to collect money from business in their territory. If they didn't pay, they beat them up as Donny handed Russo a bat. Russo didn't want to disappoint Donny as he did what he was told. Russo even became Donny's personal bodyguard as he quickly learned to be a good brawler. He was very quick and packed power blow in each punch. They even had meetings with their crew to better their business in their territory. Russo gave his advice as it was actually improving revenue as Donny felt proud. One day, they were walking down the street with some of the men as they saw a group of pretty girls walk by. The men whistled and talked on how pretty they were. But they ignored the men, except for Russo as they all found handsome and cute. Russo didn't know how to respond as the men made fun of how he was blushing. It would be another morning as Donny and Russo were eating at that restaurant together. Russo was eating a lot, while Donny was eating normally with coffee as his drink.

"That's what they're calling me?" Russo asked.

"Yep, the Silver Fox." Said Donny.

"Why?" Russo asked.

"Well, silver is obvious. You have white-silver hair. And Fox, because of you handsome you look. You should learn how to flirt. Imagine all the dames you can get in your bed." Said Donny.

"Why would I want them in my bed?" Russo asked.

"You know…sleep with them." Said Donny.

"That sounds boring." Said Russo.

"Kid, do you know what mating is?" Donny asked.

"No." Russo replied.

"Dear lord, my boy doesn't know wat intercourse is." Said Donny.

"What is it?" Russo asked.

"Never mind. We'll talk about that later. I've been wanting to sit down with you for a while. But things got busy. I managed to find out who your parents are." Said Donny as he pulled out a file.

"Donny—" Said Russo.

"I know you said that you don't care. But I felt like I had to do that. To make us even. You don't have to read. But it is your to keep. And if you do read and you want to see them. I can arrange a meeting with the Russos. Just think about, kid." Said Donny.

Time passed as Russo was in his room, sitting on his bed and looking at the file. He was tempted to take a look as he slowly reached for the file. But he quickly remembered him living on the streets as his hand stopped. Russo stood up and walked out of his room, closing the door behind him. Russo took a stroll around the city as he soon arrived at Steel City University's campus entrance. He was looking down, while a young Wilhelm Steiner was walking towards Russo as he was carrying a lot of books paper work. They both then bump into each other as the books and paper fell onto the ground as Russo was angry.

"Watch where you're going, moron!" Russo yelled.

"Uh, I do apologize. I didn't mean for that to happen. Oh, my! Such a mess." Said Steiner.

Russo was about to walk away, but he stopped himself and looked at Steiner. Steiner was collecting his things, until Russo crouched down and helped him.

"Are you alright?" Russo asked.

"Y-Yes, I am fine. Thank you for helping me." Said Steiner.

"You're a foreigner." Said Russo.

"Yes, I come another country. But I was offered a scholarship and came here. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Wilhelm Steiner." Said Steiner with his hand out.

"Giovanni Russo." Said Russo.

"Nice to meet you, Giovanni." Said Steiner.

"Just call me, Russo. I prefer that." Said Russo.

"Ah, of course, Russo." Said Steiner.

"So, Wilhelm. What's all this crap?" Russo asked.

"Not crap. My study and my research! I study biology, human evolution and…uh, other studies that seem to make you confuse." Said Steiner as Russo didn't know what he was saying.

"Yeah, I'm not that bright when it comes to all that science stuff." Said Russo.

"I understand. But thank you again. It was a pleasure speaking to you, Russo." Said Steiner.

"Yeah, likewise." Russo replied as Steiner walked away.

Russo watched him walk away, until he turned around and found young lady standing before him. It was Jane as she was young as well as she was looking at Russo.

"Can I help you?" Russo asked.

"No. I was going to yell at you after being rude to Steiner. But you ended up helping him and spoke to him. Why did you do that?" Jane asked.

"What's it to ya? Is he your boyfriend?" Russo replied.

"What if he is? I prefer a smart man than a brute like you. But if you must know, Wilhelm is my friend! People have been rude to him because he's a foreigner. He's a kind person and I will not stand by and watch others treat him rudely. But since you turned out to be a…decent guy. I'll let you off easy." Said Jane.

"Why? Did you see my face and changed your mind." Said Russo.

"As if your face could change my mind. So don't get so full of yourself. You're not that handsome. Only a girl with low standards would think your handsome." Said Jane.

"I only kid. But you hurt." Said Russo.

"Deal with it, Giovanni." Said Jane.

Russo was a bit annoyed how he said his name as she walked passed him. But she stopped by his shoulder and looked at him.

"But what made you change your mind to help him?" Jane asked.

"It wasn't his fault that we bumped into each other. I could've been paying attention and moved around him. I wanted to make it up to him, since that's how I was taught. Good thing too. I wouldn't have met a pretty girl like you." Said Russo as he smiled at her, while she blushed a little.

"Keep dreaming, Giovanni." Said Jane as she left.

Russo watched her go by as she caught up with Steiner as they were happy to see each other. They both walked together as Russo had a faint smile on his face, while he turned around and kept on walking.
